Sabaru? You mean Subaru? That's what the Japanese call the Pleiades. Which is why it's the logo for the Subaru automotive company. #randomtrivia
  2. Thanks though I was trying to showcase the missiles that I finally got around to opening.
  3. Bring on the Max 1A!
  4. The original MC Gundam Origin release and the 40th anniversary edition that just came out (right). Pretty much the same toy, as expected. The 40th anniversary has some different markings and uses a lighter shade of blue and has yellow eyes. That one's the keeper for me; I prefer it over the red eyes.

    Macross figures

They've gone down a little, as these figures tend to do over time.

    Chuck for 20k. https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1117510016&ref=list&keyword=マクロス
  7. I'd say there are way more Macross fans in general, even in the States, especially with newer shows like Frontier and Delta, whereas Robotech has stagnated for 35 years. And if there's one thing anime fans can't stand it's editing/censoring/butchering of the original work. You can't get away with that crap in the information age.

No, they just do that with most of their preorders after selling the first ten or so units.
  9. Skimming through the Kawamori interview linked above and I just wanted to say I love the comparison of Gundam to a turn-based RPG.

You need to start your own revolution and rid yourself of the tyranny of such taxes. Maybe the French can help you out.
  11. I'm in for one. You are a god among men.
  12. I remember referring to Robotech as a "bootleg show" once on these forums and some nitwit got all upset about it. If Kawamori and Mikimoto, two of the original creators of Macross, see Robotech as essentially a pirated version of their work, then I'll take that as official recognition of the fact.
  13. I might get two. I like the the clean one I have, but the air intake tampo is misaligned on mine, and it of course is anno to me. With 2x of the PF versions in hand, I can go about fixing it without worrying about screwing it up.
  14. I'll take a PG Nu Gundam over the $1000 one coming out in December
  15. Oh, I was intending to take her apart and completely repaint her from bow to stern. Most of stickers them are yellowed and peeling and are of random markings I can do without anyway. But I do need some of them, like the bow of the Daedalus and the "101" on the Prometheus deck, among others.
  16. Movies like the Last Jedi I chalk up to incompetence/ineptitude/arrogance on the part of the people actually making the movie. Note that, like Game of Thrones, I'm placing the blame on the writers, producers, and director, not the actors or crews who built sets, handled special fx, etc. Back on topic: any chance of getting a SHF fat Thor? I'm pretty much done with SHF MCU figures, what with Bandai phoning it in now (no Mjolnir included with Cap?) But I still want Vision and fat Thor. And the new Iron Patriot suit.
  17. Go for it anyway, I say! I got the Exia because the LED kit really looked great to me. Otherwise I'd have been content with my MB Exia. It'll be awhile before I build it, but if I like it enough, I may pick up the Unicorn with LEDs.

No gunpod since it's part of the drone charger attachment.
  19. Oh that's not a bad price for Tallgeese III. I might have to get one. I always thought the original Tallgeese was a wonky looking mobile suit, but Katoki really jazzed it up. Just need some waterslide decals for it.
  20. I'm just teasing you, my friend. But whether it's Star Wars or Marvel, Disney as a whole is here to make money. Robert Downey Jr may have loved being Iron Man, but he certainly didn't do it for free. I've heard he's made over $100 million personally from it. And it's not as if Disney intentionally made the Last Jedi terrible because they were "only interested in the money." They paid a lot of money for the franchise and it's in their best interest financially to make a good movie and keep audiences coming back. (Which begs the question of why they'd let the chuckleheads who ran Game of Thrones into the ground anywhere near Star Wars.)
  21. Whaaat? A multinational corporation like Disney only cares about making money? What other valuable insights do you have? I'd love to subscribe to your newsletter.
  22. Well, I just leaped into that rabbit hole. LED add-on kit on the way!
  23. I've built a bunch of Bandai's Macross kits. Nothing intimidates me anymore.

Looks great! So does this mean you won't buy the actual super parts whenever they come out?
