bleh i'll pass. i've been reading the spectacular spidey's 'disassembled' arc but i'm not going to bother picking up avengers. too many other comics i'ld rather collect.

who really cares. so they make a modern update. if its a flop just go back and read the book. i'm sure people said the same when LOTR was announced and that turned out alright. Just think - in 50yrs some hot shot director will probably do a star wars remake. now *that* would be scandalous.

season 1 box set is already out.

i have my copy of vol2 R2 on preorder with hmv.jp to match my vol1 boxset. if and when the super deluxe r1 boxsets come out i'll pick those up (if they offer anything better than the r2s)

seeing as FAO has problems its no shock that TrU can't compete either in the face of Wal-Mart. they never have inventory of hot item and their prices can't match up. the Wal-Mart juggernaut claims another victim.

saw the flick last night. fairly entertaining but i wouldn't call it best movie of the year. its a decent popcorn movie for the summer.

Garoquel is the artist (and MW Member) that was commissioned by Animeigo to make the current DVD covers on the Animeigo set. He actually made at least two variations, of which one was spectacular, there was a pic of it floating around here somewhere... However, Animeigo decided to go with the black lineart with contrasting rainbow colors variants. Much too bland in the opinions of many of us. I have only briefly discussed it with him, and found out that he was A. Able to do it legally, and B. Willing to do it for us. I assume that it would more than likely be a case of us being able to download the high res images from a web site, and then printing them ourselves. I'm not sure if he has the ability to print them, or if he would if someone did not have a printer of good quality. Not sure yet, he said he has an example that he will post for us to check out. Hope this helps! well it sounds interesting but i have to say $15 for jpgs (etc) is a bit meh. since i dont own a printer i have no way of producing the covers

ug i'm going to sound like one *those* fans but banna doesnt sound like a good choice. i would have prefered ewan mcgreggor or heck even an unknown brit or scotsman to play the role. and definately Bond needs to go back to being a spy - sauve, sexy, and witty. not a gadget freak who's a superhero. spy people, spy!

while i dont agree with your take on the cockpit pics, i do agree that the lineart is classy. HOWEVER if Paul is unable to print the labels then it makes the usefullness of the image that much less.

if we're talking about looks i hate it. it looks like a cheap 80s bootleg housing a 4bit side-scroller (or better yet those original Nintendo pocket games done with black/white LCD screens) versus a makeup compact case.

the schematic was a nice design as well however the rich colour and detail of the cockpit shot makes it visually more interesting. plus its a shot which grabs the eye and makes full use of the colour laser process. (as an aside does anyone have the skill to remove the logos that appear in the upper corners?) for the spine i stand by the dessert. for the top...hmm its a tough call. i love the simplicity of the m+ logo, however i do like the shot of the 4 principal chracters - its just unfortunate they're done in christmas colours.

i prefer the simplicity of the dessert and think it will lend itself nicely to the 2 cockpit images

gah! another reason for me to track down a widescreen copy of the THX vhs edition. why oh why did i buy the hack 'n slash version?
