I'm not sure if I think it's ugly or desperately need it. I'm also not sure how much I could justify spending to get a recolor of the exact same figure I already own.

I noticed about the fighter to battroid transformation on page 66. The valk on the page has a yamato style swingbar instead of the correct leg plates. not sure if anyone else noticed that.

The the design itself looks the same but they changed the color. now the upper hull and flight deck are light gray instead of blue.

I grabbed a copy at Kinokuniya during the SF bay area meet last week. As someone who's never had a technical Macross book this is awesome , I was literally drooling over it when I first flipped through it. So, is anyone planing on doing some translating of this? It was totally worth the $40 for the illustrations alone, but the more I look at it the more I want to know what they heck they're saying about everything. I especially want to know about the notes on the various block versions.

wow, analogue fanboy. I have not seen one of those in a while. seriously, analogue formats can't even come close to the convince of an MP3 player. 1,500 songs plus photos and video's on a player that's has 24 hours of battery life and is the size of a single TAPE, no contest what I'd rather travel with. The whole argument of sound quality is worthless anyways though unless you have rediculously expensive speakers/headphones anyways, going from shitty little ear buds and $10 drug store headphones to nice quality DJ/studio monitors produces orders of magnitude more improvement in sound quality than changing formats (of course if I'm taking BART or something I'm not bringing my good headphones with me anyways.) And if you ARE in your home and you DO have high enough quality stereo equipment and you're dead set on using analogue, why not just use Vinyl?

on RT.com they Use the original names, then in really tiny print they say "also known as: " >link< I think they used the original names in the show and then changed all the names on toys for some strange reason.

I think it's just labled wrong. I don't think they changed any of the mecha names in robotech but I could be wrong.

Or they could hire Miyatake, HE'S the one who did all the destroids, and all anyone really cares about is the tomahawk/war hammer anyways

So, I've been meaning to ask this since the first issue came out. If you don't read Japanese at all, IS there any reason to buy this other than the good karma and intangible moral satisfaction of supporting the franchise and not committing piracy? Such things are nice and all but if that's all I get for my money I'd rather spend it on more tangible things like toys, and textbooks, and food. For instance, even though I can't read anything in the chronicles the amount of line art and full color illustrations make it close to wroth the price (although I've kind of given up on trying to get them in the hopes they'll release compiled volume eventually.)

yep, the lovely lovely Arisa from yamato (I'm a huge Shunya Yamashita fan ). Mines the original (and long out of stock) purple haired version >link<. the brunet recolor can still be had though >link<. the color choices aren't as good, but I do like the new glasses and tuxedo color bass. I'd buy this one too but all my toy money is going to macross goods lately (WHY YAMATO, WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME!?!?)
