  1. There's no such thing as 3D done well. 3D is always crap, no exceptions.
  2. except for that time when he explicitly stated that the Macross zero line is dead and the VF-0D isn't going to happen.
  3. I think he needs to post pictures of that now.
  4. actually it would be 5. The VF-17 shows up on screen for about 3 seconds, so you'll need to pick one of those up too.
  5. VF-0. It's a simpler, more conventional airframe and it's probably got more support political support than the SV-51 would have.the respective performance qualities of a plane don't decide the results of design competitions, economics and politics do. The YF-21 was better in every way to the YF-19, but the YF-19 won. The real reason it won wasn't because of what happened at the end of Mac+, it won because it was the more conventional design from the more established company.
  6. do want! BTW; preordered the Metal Build 00 for the hell of it. I figure this is the only way we'll ever get a large size 00 Seven Swords, although I may change my mind latter on and cancel(there's 4 months till it comes out, so... ). I'm kind of tempted to cheap out and pick up the Robot Damashii 7 swords instead. I actually like the RD's even though I've only got one.
  7. As someone who doesn't care about the original comic, or comics in general, f*ck this shit. The Sly Stallone movie is great, we don't need a remake
  8. AmiAmi's good except that they tend to use oversized shipping boxes with way to much packing material so you end up putting a big chunk of what you saved over HLJ right back into the shipping charge. For Gunpla, I shop from Hobbywave.com They have slightly higher list prices (although now that the dollar-to-yen rate is so bad it's not that much of a difference) and fewer sales, but they have really cheap flat-rate shipping ($12 to the continental US and $20 to canada) so as long as you order a bunch of stuff at once, they tend to be the cheapest. Also they're in North America and use FedEx so stuff get's delivered fast. Also they have surprisingly good stock for a US based hobby shop.
  9. except for the fact that 99% of the time the fighter ISN'T flying at Mach 5+ in an atmosphere. so for the majority of the time when it's flying at sub mach speeds and using a fraction of the engines maximum power for flight, why can't it run ECA then? Here's a hypothetical situation: A battroid/GERWALK is hovering and therefore producing enough thrust to offset it's own weight. A VF in fighter mode fly's by with it's engines producing the same amount of thrust. If both VF's have identical engines producing identical amounts of thrust with identical amounts of power in reserve, what is the fighter doing that requires so much more power than running all the servo's and actuators needed to make the battroid work that it has none left over to power the ECA? I can kind of buy having to turn the ECA off when the fighter mode is flying at full speed and using all of it's thrust, but why can't it turn ECA back on when it slows down and is just crusing at sub mach speeds? (Still; I find it hard to believe that planes with 15, 20 and even 40:1 T-W ratio's need to use ALL of their available engine power just to reach Mach 5 in the atmosphere.) Ok, so your saying that part of the reason they can't use ECA is because it's using that power to run a cooling system on the airframe that exists purely to keep the plane from overheating at high speeds in fighter mode? why don't they just use that power to run the ECA, make the skin of the plane more resilient to heat, protect the thing form incoming fire at the same time and without the added complexity and weight of a dedicated cooling system?
  10. what extra sword? the big ugly thing from Hobby Japan that's big and ugly and made up entirely so Hobby Japan would have some exclusive to sell with their magazine? anyways... After watching the Gundam Unicorn trailer and looking up which MS's show up in the Novel, I'm wondering if bandai's going to re-release a bunch of old kits in sleeves form? I'm hopping the answers yes. also, just a random thought: Bandai should totally do a 7 swords version of their PG 00 gundam.
  11. close, but not quite. I believe it actually goes like this: Kamille's Design -> Delta gundam -> Methuss -> Prototype Zeta Gundam's -> Zeta Gundam -> Zeta+ Kamille's original Design is what prompted AE to start the Z project that would eventually lead to the Zeta gundam. the Delta was originally a design proposal for the Zeta gundam (basically it was a more refined/production ready version of Kamille's design) but when it came time to actually build it they found that the frame wasn't strong enough to support transformation, so rather than scrapping the design outright, they completed it as a non-transforming MS, added some zero's to the model number and handed it over to char. Also, when they say that AE revisited the Delta design at the same time they where working on a mass producible version of the Zeta I believe they're referring to the RGZ-91 Re-GZ and RGZ-95 ReZEL, so in between Char's counter attack and Unicorn (0093~0096)
  12. AMX-009 Dreissen and the MSN-001A1 Delta plus
  13. I'm probably in the minority here but I really don't like using that "ProModeler" stuff. I've tried using it and found it to be absolute pain. Like David I all it tended to do was bead up and pull out of the panel lines except that I tried mixing in dish soap starting with a very small drop and gradually increasing the amount, but I never saw much improvement. When I finally did get the stuff to go into the engraved detail and stayed there long enough to try, the result was rather unimpressive. the lines where weak and splotchy, Not at all what I wanted. Personally I stick to Gundam markers and heavily thinned enamel paint.
  14. I've been calling shenanigans on this since the first time someone brought it up.
  15. MoH Tier 1 is battlefield bad company 2 without the humor.
  16. gunpla is a lot cheaper.
  17. could be fun. I wonder if they'll actually let Michelle Rodriguez live this time?

    Yamato 1/60 VF-X

It's supposed to be the control stick. the toy's cockpit is sculpted to match its DYRL? appearance where it has throttle and the control stick on either side of the pilot. In the TV show the cockpit had a center stick, so TV style pilots are molded with the stick in there hand. this one comes with a TV style roy figure.
  19. from what I've read online, the selection of sniper rifles looks like absolute shit. reason enough for me to pass this crap up.
  20. it looks like something stepped on it.
  21. I think the box is a prototype for the Bio-computer system.
  22. maybe it is just a gloss coat then... either way, the "prism coat" version is going to be considerably shinier than the regular version.
  23. The Strike Freedom is getting made first because it's the most popular Gundam amongst fans in Japan. Also PG strike Freedom recycles parts From the PG strike, so less work/costs for bandai. then there's issue that the Nu Gundam is huge compared to previous gundams that have gotten the PG treatment. between the greater tooling/materials cost and the increast Development costs of being a new kit from the ground up, a PG Nu gundam would most likely end up being extremely expensive (30,000~35,000 yen+). without existing tooling to cut development costs, no recently aired series to drive sales, and with a potentially prohibitively expensive retail price It's unlikely that a PG Nu Gundam would be profitable for bandai.
  24. the thing is, the rate and level to which Voice acting in Video Games has improved is directly proportional to growth of the video game market as a whole. Similarly, In this 20 year period with little improvement in dub quality, there's been little growth in the market for dubbed anime. The volume of sales aren't there to justify spending the money on good writers, directors and Voice talent.
  25. if you need to read the text instructions on a figure like this, you're doing it wrong.
