  1. Does anyone know why there is shortage of Hasboro transformers binaltech and MPC optimus prime???? If there is significant demend (At least I see that there are large number of fans wanting to buy it) why is Hasboro not releasing large number of these items????? As stated previously, I only seen #1 and #2 at local target (I am not too knowlegable about Transformer names). I have yet to see MPC prime..... Is it because it is being bought suprisingly quick by buyers or otherwise....
  2. Yes, I agree with you. More and more, Toy companies are sucking up my retirment fund
  3. Yes, that one-day-only deal was only limited to eBay store listings at fixed price. eBay used to have free listing days right after Thanksgiving and Xmas but now that they've grown big, fat and lazy, they only offer discount on optional fees like Buy It Now or Gallery once in a blue moon. These announcements were always made less than a 24 hours before the deal takes effect so you really need to have your auctions ready to go if you want to wait for discount days. Actually, it was open to anyone with Ebay account, not just the ones with Ebay store. The deal time was $.10 fix posting day. Basically you save on the posting cost only. If it was only open to Ebay store owners, it would have been posted in Ebay store only and not on general store. Ebay usually send notices of there "special deal" approximately 24 hours prior to the deal to those that have there Email address lsited to receive promotions from Ebay (If you have this feature off, you will not be notified). By giving only limited time period, only few that are not working full time jobs can post it through out the day. If you are working all day, you need to find other ways to maximize the deal. Ebay store is not all that (Although, it may sound great in the begining), it does not get the exposure to general auction, unless general auction has less than 10 items found. For example: You search VT-1 Bandai, you probably will get one or two search result. If the Ebay seller had a store, it will be listed as a store having the item for sale (No photos are displayed) result on the bottom. Another example, if you search for VF-1A MAx 1/60, you probably will get 20 or more result. In this case, store item does not get display. Only the ones listed as general auction. Ebay stroe is good for listing bulk items (For example 20 or more) and you list three or so on general auction and lead potential buyers to your store. Otherwise, you will be spending money on store fees and other cost related to owning the store. I hope that helped.
  4. Yes, indeed that was beuatiful. Who ever bought should be happy with the purchase.
  5. To the bidder , the valks were probably worth $40 each. The others were $10 or so and the Robotech book was worth $15 or so. Its not that bad. Robotech book #3 is somewhat rare, as with #2. Unlike #1
  6. While I do need to save more money because of the baby, I'm also a very impatient type, who hates waiting for new toys, especially cool ones like the Alpha. Graham I guess, the joy you get when you purcahse new collections is there. As far as I know, the pacakging will be same. Toynami is using Mospeada name instead of Robotech. Partly due to Robotech not being familar in that part of the world. Based on my experience, I doubt that Toynami will spend extra money to make too much changes to its bookcasing, etc. Also, I seen the promo photo or two I received from TOynami or a japanese wholeseller. I do not recall, it was about four or five months ago. If I can recall and find the photo I recevied on Mospeda pacakging, I will post it. However, I usually delete my Emails few days afterwards, unless it is related to my purcahse on Ebay or like.
  7. I really hated the M7. half of the time it ws that Basara singing and acting as if he was wana be Minmay (I guess that was part of the theme about the series). Second, the valks , I am not too sure, but looks kind of odd... I guess, I am too into DYRL and SDF-1... To me it was just a musical anime. If I have known better, I rather watch "Sound of MUsic" or alike. At least, I would have known what I was getting into. However, like the debate on which is better, Robotech and MAcross??? there will be no clear answer, except for ones own opinion.
  8. Here is my opinion. When I was kid, living in Korea, I knew what Gundam was, I have never watch the series or Manga , but I just knew that it was popular anime series from Japan. Cam to the US, very young, Saw the Robotech series, WOW.... Came to know Macross, few years later - DID not watch it until several years ago... Through out that time, Bandai has promoted Gundam and its related products heavily. Although, I was too cool to watch Anime . I do not think any other toy have been advertised or promoted heavily as Gundam. Even transformers cannot get close to the amount of money spent by Bandai and its affliates. Bottom line, Bandai has planted the word "Gundam" into most of the youngsters growing up in Asia, and now the america. Where as other once popular anime are heavily advertised during the time the show is running, but faddes away. I finally gave in and bought DVD set of GUndam the very first one, few weeks ago. I have only watched few episodes, not not even seen any great fighting seens. However, I do not think it is not even close comparison to DYRL in the story line. Although,it made me think, "So, this is what the GUndam is all about".... Bottom line, Bandia's formula of advertising Gundam (With various diff. story lines (Series) the way they do, they are bound to be popular or at least make someone thinking about a good Mecha anmie to buy a DVD and try watching it once. Hence, making profit and popularity of Gundam .
  9. 15K units for each of the four MPC Alphas under the "Robotech - New Generation" licence and an untold number of each under the "Mospeada Legioss" name for the Japanese/Asian Rim market. Anybody know if the Asian 'Mospeada Legioss' versions will be released at the same time as the US Robotech Alphas? I don't want to waste money on shipping costs, by ordering an Alpha from the US, if the Asian versions will have a simultaneous release. Graham I do not know the answer to your question for sure. However, I can find out. Anyways, if I were you, I would wait untill Mospeada version is released in the far East. I do not think US version will sell out in a month or even in two months. It will be around for few months, at least. With you new born, I would try to save money on most means, until it is relaesed in HK or Japan. (I am assuming that you're finaicial status is like most other members on MW, if you're well off, that is diffrent story.)
  10. I posted the same topic few weeks ago. THere should be a thread posted on this forum. I will locate the thread and provide you with a link. Here is the link Link
  11. ouch! man, what were the first editions going for? The highest price on Ebay was $650. It was going for around $325-350. Since the version 2 is limited to 200 and sold only by Toynami. It might get more epensive. Who knows.
  12. Recently there has been harshy crack down on Pirate DVDs from China, HK, etc. by the original holders. Larger distributors are already requesting help from FEDs to crack down. I hope that most of those pirated DVDs are off the MKT soon. Unless, legits are not avaliable in the US.
  13. There are two veriosn of that Green monster. One is Matchbox and the one in the photo is Harmony Gold release. The one in the photo is less of a quality. I would not pay more than $30. The Matchbox version, I would be conservative and say $35-40. But, on Ebay, it all depends on the demend of the onster or whatever the item is on the auction for that day.
  14. Pat, Did you get any telephone number or just took photos.... Maybe, we can hook up and take them to vegas or something. Show them whats-up. I could show them something and most gilrs like what I have/do......
  15. Based on the photo of Legioss in plane mode. It appears that it might not be small as it was stated in previous post. The box is approx. 12 inches tall (I am gussing). And the plane appears to take at least 10 inches of space. When transformed, it might actually be little taller than posable figure. I just hope that it is 8 or 9 inches tall at least. If someone can confirm exactly how tall the legioss is compare to, lets say 1/55 Toynami VF-1 series, I would appreciate it. Thanks,
  16. This is funny thread. It starts out by Hurin giving an obnoxious kid a toy and a DVD set and it turns into a thread of how Hurin should have slapped that little boy. Somtimes, the posts just give me the laugh for the day....
  17. Thanks for the link. I guess I am getting old. do people really want to drive car that has pattern of Zebra or tiger????? It might get attention from others on the road, but I think it might not be the attention I will be lloking forward to.
  18. Where do you find this photos. Pretty funny. I hope that kid made it home safely.

    GBP Armor number(s)

I do not think there is the one number to be placed on the VF-1S or other. The taka will have #1 sticker on all its GBP. That is how it came in the pacakge. As for those Arii, they could have easily been number based on the company's discrestion. There are no real reference to numbering the GBP, as far as I know (I could be wrong),. I would just number what ever number fits your liking.
  20. I do not think it is touching the groud anymore. Since, they now have wheels. But, I cannot see the chest area either. As for the size, Toynami is really something. They could have made it at least few inches taller. I know that they used XXXX as their proto type and all. But, at least they could have spent few more $$$ to make it taller. This cost cuttings are really driving me crazy. One chance to have a brand spanking new Mospeada legisoss and they make it 6 inches tall. All this time, I truely thought that Toynami had there scale messed up and was at least make it 8 or 9 inches tall. Oh well, I should have never started this Macross/Robotech collections, now I am kneww deep into collecting and addicted to it..... I now get more stress from all these company doing stupid things (Yamato Toynami, etc) relating to Macross and Robotech.
  21. I finally had the oppertunity to finish my Bandai GBP collection (Thanks Chowser), along with my Yamato GBP. Since, it is 3 day weekend, I decided to take photos to share with fellow members..... Now the valks look more menacing and no longer "Naked". Anyways, I am posting only two photos of wide shot, as not to take too much MW bandweith. I posted few more photos shots. If you want to view, click below. Sorry about the pic sizes... Enjoy.... BANDAI YAMATO Click here for more phots. Click on the small photos to see larger photos: GBP photos
  22. Yes, I agree with BOBE... It will be around $60 or 75. But, who knows what people will do on Ebay. It is interesting place with interesting people.
  23. I always gave great appraise to Toynami on trying to introduce better quality produce with subsequent releases. However, That is disgusting if they made the Alphas smaller than posables. Well, its good thing is that Gakkens are still around to make it a nice display piece next to other Macross collections.
  24. I had several of those items when I was young. I think I got it from swap meet also. Actually, there were more cheaper ones that were made of 99.9% plastic. This one was what I used to think of as being better made Anyhow, here is some interesting incident I had with this item. Last year around this period, I posted my last plastic and the posted photo one on EBay. Normally, I started the auction at $9.99 and described the items as being made in HK and condition etc...... Anyways, there was this bidder in Japan, who was bidding thru one of those Rinka or bbidding service. I think it was Rinka, so I am going to call it RInka as the bidding service. Thye would email me and ask if I would send it to Japna, the codition, country it was made in, various questions. Well, guess how much the Japanese bidder bought the item for. It went well over $120...... To me it was not worth more than $5. However, there must have been another Macross collector that needed to have everything. ANyways, the payment was received and nice feedbacks were exchanged. TO me it was one of those interesting Ebay experience.
