  1. La roy, Damn, those pics are NICE!!!!. However, those have been "Touch-Up" too much. In reality, it will not look that great. Here is a link to a post where you can post Robotech items and see few photos. Click here Your post will likely be removed by MODS. For your info in the future. TOys section only applies to Toy's related to Macross, the original Japanese version. Robotech and related series are consider "other anime" and should be posted on respective topic section.

    GBP Armor

Even if GBP can fit on VT, VE and VF-1d, you might not want to have it display that way. It really looks ugly. Maybe, VF-1D might not be too bad. I am glad that they did not make the armors to fit on those, since I do not want to see photos of VT and VE wearing armors...

    FAT WALLET BOYS

I am not talking about that. I was referring to the price that Yamato decides on, i.e. before it reaches retailers, much less overseas outlets. Well, the truth is Yamato can set their retail price high as they can (Just like the car manufacturers), it is the distributor that makes the ultimately makes the true cost to consumers. Overseas???? If you don't know, HK is the area where majority of Macross and other anime toys sold to US. China-HK-US and rest of the world... If you are going to dicuss about high price set by Yamato, then you have to look at the full spectume of sources, not just Yamato.
  4. I was thinking of getting the Minmay. Then I saw the latest PIC. It appears that Minmy forehead is squeezed-in or Minmay's below the nose area is sticking out too far. Oh well, if I see more photos, I might as well pick it for the heck of it..

    FAT WALLET BOYS

Another thing to remember is that the toy price, espiceilly for Macross, is controlled by HK sellers. They know very well that Macross items can not be directly imported into US. Hence, they have advantage against biggest cunsumer mkt. HK sellers can buy Macross items from gray market for fairly cheap and price it little under what retail yen price is and sell on Ebay and etc. (Of course with inflated shipping cost). There are few other factors, but it can go on and on.
  6. Aoshima, first version did not include the knife. The newer release (Which I call 2nd version) includes fix "Rambo" knife in the front.
  7. Thank you for the answers. Shin, I hope that you saw accepted my apology on the another post. I sincerly apologies for that incident (Mishap on my part).
  8. The first version did not have "Rambo" knife in the front.
  9. I have question about those Binaltech ??? (I think that is what they are call). The one that looks similar to realistic production car. My question is the Hasboro version SUburu Impreza. Did they make #7 and 8 like there Takara counterpart. Or did they just make #8??? If you know the answer, I would appreciate your post. Thanks,
  10. The reason is that Bandai or Aoshima produce this in limited number, compare to US counterparts and they make it good!!!! Initally, they will be relatively inexpensive, but not to the point you see Macross 1/60 going for this day. However, due to thier limited production number, it will eventually go up in prices. Bandai Yamato- What can you say. It is rare this days. Captain Harlock - They are curretnly offring 2nd version (One with the knife). The first version are mostly sold out and they are already going for more than what it was a year ago.
  11. That was nice finding. Like people say, "Someones trash, is someones treasure" Enjoy your new collection..
  12. That is funny, here I am (like most other Alpha collectors) trying to get a decent looking one for that price. Damn those were very very nice condition. Oh well, soon or later, it will be up on Ebay. Lucky you, to those that were able to get it at that price....
  13. Yep. Official answer was there was mold issues, but most believe it was lack of demand. Toynami were looking for a line that could be produced for low outlay using pre-existing molds to cut down on development time, so if the molds needed work that could of made it less inticing to go ahead. Not to mention the rumored price was rather above the ebay asking price for the Playmates Exo-Squad/Harmony Gold 90's reissue, and the fact they're very common online too would have really killed it if they did choose to go ahead. Cyc I think cyclone hit the jack pot. What he stated is pretty much what I believe really happened. In addition to the fact that they probably realize that it was not going to be really profitable, based on the price they were trying to sell. I think Toynami lacks business skill to be a toy company. If they only took the risk to produce more detail and better quality destriods from scratch, they probably would had profitable return. Then again, they are similar to other companies that are manufacturing Macross line these days. Quick return on a toy line that have not been made for decades and then ADIOS.... Lets move on to the next series .... What can you do, addiction is damn thing....
  14. Nice find. It is always good to see posting about Bandai once in awhile. They were THE macross toys..... Take good care of your GBP...
  15. Wow, that really looks nice. I did not look at the site carefully, except the photos. hanks for the link. I guerss I just need to get Quake 3 now...
  16. That would suck if they charge every month. I probably will have to miss out on this one also. Like most other great online games (Except CS), since I cannot justify spending $$$, when I play games maybe once in a blue moon.
  17. That game looks promising. I hope that it is buy once type, not the monthly payment type of online game.
  18. No you are not the only one that likes Robotech and Macross, as you can tell from other posted messages. I equally like both Macross and Robotech and equally collect both line of toys and DVD and books, etc.. One could not have survived without the other in the US. Majority of people in the US recognize Macross initially, because they watch Robotech when they were young. Then visiting Macross site or other anime sites, they realize that RT was chop-off version of Macross made for US kids. Then again Macross would not have recognition to many in the US, without Robotech. Anyways, just make sure that you post Robotech stuff on other anime section, not around Macross area. It is fair to mods, since they want to distinguish between Macross and Robotech, hence the site is named Macross World. There are times, when you will see someone posting some non sense about Robotech on the board, just let that go. Most of those are posted by fairly new members or someone wanting to get notice by other members on how much they prefer Macross over Robotech and do not know better way to express other than to post nonsense or something that is irrational.

    Figure pics

That is pretty nice. I actually thing Mao looks much better than the original.
  20. It was Yamato, now Bandai. This addiction is going to make me go broke pretty soon. I wish Yamato and Bandai would release new toy once a year, no more, no less. Just a wish....
  21. Its a silly commercial. You can just view the thing on media player or quciktime.
  22. Why would someone post a thred and use that type of word "Ask your mother". Do you ask your mother to buy your collection? Be more respectful of other members on what you post. Yes, it also goes posting on new members post. The new member could easily be someone who is in his 30's or maybe in his 20's and can take your word as an insult.
  23. THANK YOU FOR THE INFO!!!! Based on the recomendation, I guess I will go with the Movie 123 set. Now, let see what all this Gundam hype is all about.... I finally took a day of from my work and used portions of this time to finish watching Southern Cross. This took me nearly three months to finish. Since, I have finiahed watching Macross/RObotech related DVDs in both English and Japanese version, I am trying to expand into few other series. Starting with Gundam. Here is the questions. I would like to watch Gundam, starting with their first release: Gundam Mobile Suit (I found out that this is the first series of Gundam). However, I also saw that there are Gundam Mobile Suit movie 1, 2, 3????? Which should be watched first? Is there a complete GMS series made into a set or do I need to buy individual DVD? How many DVDs make up the GMS? Basically, I do not have any clue as to what Gundam is, other than that I like Zaku models and few of their Gundams. More info someone provides, the better. I have no clue as what need to be purchased (Similar to that joker on Conan show). I try to find info on web and Ebay, but, it was not too helpful.
  24. Sorry man, I do not own Black version of Grandizer. If you are planing to get the black version, I would suggest you getting it in near future. Historically, Bandai does not reissue Black versions, where as, normal version are released every few years. It is a lot cheaper than regular version now (Grandizer GX-04B), but, the price might be going up. Just take a look at the Bossborat as the example. I just wished that they would reissue whole line of SOC, beg. from GX-01 to 23 in a sequence. I did not collect SOC before, so I am spending fortune on this line
  25. No, The GX-04S is the special version that came with Drill Spazer + Marine Spazer. Basically, it combine the GX-04 + GX-04P (I think it was called that) into a one pacakge. The black version is GX-04B. All the SOC version with a letter "B" at the end is black version. "R" is th reissued. Etc. Etc. I only have 25% of display case devoted to SOC, since I do not have too much room. I do have five large display cases and one glass case. Even then, the Macross and Gundam is consuming most of the spaces. Most of my SOC are in the box or in storage. I will try to take a shop of what is displayed.
