  1. eeech!? Yes, I think some peoples fetish can go too far. Spending $2000 on that doll.... I would rather spend that money on meeting a real girl (No not that time of girls people might think). or going to night club or something. How can some one get excited about a doll (Or it should be worded as "with a doll"). I prefer real flesh.
  2. I just hope that Yamato can make another quality toys by spending some more time on their development (I know that Yamato is trying to take advantage of releasing Macross line fast to capture the market, before some fan base shy away from Macross line). Lately, it appears that Yamato has been cost cutting on its expenses, including material and labor, and it truely shows on its latest released toys. I just hope that KONIG monster can turn Yamato around and make them realize that if they make quality item, consumers will buy it. If they try to cut corners, like Toynami, initially they will see higher profit margin, but, eventually they will loose a lot of customer base in the long run.

    A Spartan is Born

Please update us once you're settle down in your new home. I been looking forward to this project since, you made a post of it here. This is one hell of custom job you are doing....
  4. Nice work, I see that diet cokes have been keeping you awake Let us know your final out come on this and other project you and jesse have going, I will definitly get a set of each or two...
  5. Very nice job, I like the detailing of Minmay on the back seat. Welcome and post more of your nice works.....
  6. On your photos, I see some familar toys The grandizer is beautiful, it is the best for its worth. If you plan to get one, get the GX-04 S, not the regular GX-04. You will surely see the benefit of it. I will post a pic here for you to see. Since, I am taking a day off from work tomorrow, I have some time to post and do some messing around on this board.
  7. I guess a mod made the move first... As for the shooting missles. Only the Japanese Gakeen cyclones came with the firing missle. The US versions (one with Robotech title on the box and another one that has Hensin Robo on the boxes were made with missles glued in the arm canons (I think that is what it is call). This is same with three diff. versions (Boxes) of Gakken Mospeada legioss. Gakeen Japanese bersion were included with gunpod and missles that can be shot. Two US version were not included with missles. As for the colored visor, I seen owners color them with that color. However, since the member stated that he has found it after having the item store for long time in the attic or somewhere, who knows.....

    clear jets?

Just because some items are limited. It does not mean it will sale out fast or demends are there. Basically, not too much demends were shown on the clear VF-1@ series. Who know, maybe 5 or 10 years from now, clear version might become rare Macross model kits and fetch $$$.
  9. Nice to see SOC collections on this board. I been spending more and more money towards SOC and Gundam these days. Of all the SOC series, I have had no problem, yet. SOC's quality and amount of die cast used on these toys are well worth the money spent on it. In my opinion, there best example of SOC's series of quality toys were shown on Mazinger and Grandizer series, to name a few. In particular, I like there Grandizer the most. It was exceptionally detail and well worth $300 spent on it. Does anyone know which SOC are gong to be made, excluding releases?
  10. Actuall, that piece is not that over priced. It might be over price, because it is not mint (It would have been nice price if it was being sold for around $530 or so). But, Taka SDF-1 used to go for around $600 for nice condition and above $450 for the rest. I remeber last year, there was one that was yellowed (THis was horrible yellowing) on the front. That sold for almost $400. I guess with all these Macross items coming out those good old Taka and Bandai are loosing ground to Yamato and others. Now the price on thisSDF-1 Taka auction is pretty excessive.
  11. In my opinion, Robotech was the one that made the most impact on the rating for any anime and probably the most profit for the companies affliated with Robotech. Yes, Mazinger, G-force, Mach-5 and several others were shown few years before Robotech. However, none were as popular as Robotech, nor do they have other comapnies backing the anime series (Matchbox). If I recall correctly, Transformers and Voltrons began broadcasting on US TV after Robotech became popluar and tv syndicates saw potential profit. Although, most on this fourm do not favor Robotech or its affliated company. fact is Robotech did make huge impact on US kids and media companies view on Japanese Anime.
  12. Another beautiful custom. Thanks for sharing your work with the members
  13. I doubt that this will happen soon. Although, I wishe Bandai would reissue GBP so that I can purcahse several more for my reissued Valks.
  14. There are many topics on this matter. You can search the forum for some threads. What I know is that there is not "Magic" solution to getting rid of Yellowing on old and new valks.

    clear jets?

I think the online store Gundam store or Gundam super store still had those for sale. it is the store that had problem with VF-11B awhile back.
  18. The monster looks pretty cool. lthough, it would have been great if they have added few diecast to it. Based on the photo, it appears to be all plastic.
  19. Sad part is, I really didn't want any Hikaru figure and I get three and I would have been happy with just one Minmay. Oh well, I guess that's what usually happens, you don't get what you really want. F. Well, if you do not like Hikaru. Maybe you can trade with one of the member who ones one or sale it and buy Minmay...
  20. Why are these ugly things being posted lately???? It could give some people a nightmares.
  21. I love the SCO series from Bandai. The color on the GX-14R is unconventional to what I am used to seeing from Bandai. However, I might get two or so when it is released.
  22. That comment is the classic of all time.... That comment got me laughing for a whole two minutes.

    My Q-rau exploded

I hope that you're just joking....
  24. Out of proportion??? I did not realize that Yammi was in proportion with valks shown on Macross. The appearance wise, yes, Yammi resembles more closely with what you see on Macross. As for as proportion, it is doubtful and debatable. As for Bandai being "Blocky-ness", you might be right on making it easier to fit. That does not mean, Yamato should be releasing armors that have definite quality problem(s) to the consumers. Yes, I bought the armor, even knowing that it had problems, but that is what happens when there are no competitions. It is all in how companies envision their future and its mission. Bandai has proven over and over again for last decades that their product is superior to its competitor. As for Yamato, it is hard to tell. How long they will survive the competitive toy MKT, who knows. The result will be shown when toys based on Macross series has saturated the MKT and Yamato has to rely on other product line to sustain its viability. Will they be considered as being a quality toy manufacturing company?????
  25. No, It is supposed to be for both 1/48 and 1/60s
