To clarify: the article doesn't clearly state who's making it. Above it is the Yamato VF-4G. To the left is the Hasegawa YF-19. Under it are "for questions, please contact customer service" followed by Yamato's homepage. Below that is Hasegawa's telephone number.

So... why not kit bash the model kit from way back when and smooth out the inconsistencies? It's not a bad kit, BTW, aside from some issues with how they did the shoulder joints.

Why do they wait so long to release a Macross Series?
sketchley replied to leading edge's topic in Movies and TV Series
Heh... funny you should mention it, as the official setting indicates that there are CLONES of all the key crew members of the SDF-1 and other survivors. There's bound to have been some that did get twisted around in some way. That said, Macross sequels have always been about new people in new adventures with unique themes. So I highly doubt we'll be getting the evil twins of characters we've seen so far. -
Mechanic: M7 UN 12b: Macross 7 Fleet Aircraft (Transports): http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2850.msg43521#msg43521 Anything that rounds out the Macross universe is good, eh? Mechanic: D7 UN 01a: VF-5000 Star Mirage: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2851.0 Incomplete. Something I found on my HD. Might as well post what I've done so far, as it'll probably be a while before I can get back to finishing it (and forgetting about the part that's been done) ... Oh... some members of the forum that these are linking to are indicating difficulty accessing the website in the past week. If the page doesn't load (or grinds for an inordinately long time), their solution is to refresh the page a couple of times and/or put the entire URL into the address bar and directly access the pages.

I believe someone in MW indicated that that manga is "on hiatus".

Don't you mean (approx.) 40% more material? I've been busy thinking over what this extra content could be. If the 2nd edition of Evangelion is a guide, then half the extra content will be the movies, and the other half will be an expanded upon, virtually scene-by-scene timeline (doubtful that they'll do that with Macross. But one never knows...) I'm hoping that we'll get the content that the 1st edition had to truncate due to space limitations (those missing character pages, for example), as well as expansion on the pages that were crammed with lots of different stuff (expansion of the games material, for example).

All this talk about a potential reprint of MC has motivated me to wade into the back-log of translations to type up: Mechanic: M7 UN 12a: Macross 7 Fleet Aircraft (Transports): http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2850.0 Alas, not much hard data. Though, it's nice to know that the VF transports can carry up to 30 people. Makes them kinda useful for emergency evacuations and things like that.

I was doing some searches for Macross 7th Code/Chord in English, and they all redirect to either MacrossWorld, the Macross Compendium, or Macross Roleplay Galaxies. So... for those asking, have any of you tried a search of these forums? Also... apparently a collected version is going to be released: http://www.kadokawa....cd=201105000124 For next time, I recommend this one for directing people to google searches: http://lmgtfy.com/ E.g.: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=cheese

マクãƒã‚¹ã‚¯ãƒãƒ‹ã‚¯ãƒ« 新訂版 I've I'm reading it correctly, it's a "New and Revised Edition" HOWEVER, it's still not listed ANYWHERE other than blogs, and the only place to place a subscription for it is 7-11 AND it's apparently only available in Hiroshima Prefecture. Apparently it's already being sold and is weekly. But for the rest of us living in Japan outside of Hiroshima (and that's not even considering people not living in Japan): no where to be seen.

well... the big change from yesterday is that there are blogs and twitter postings about it. But... as yet, the publisher's homepage, book sellers, etc., have yet to mention it. This one goes so far as to say that it's only available in Hiroshima Prefecture... http://blog.livedoor.jp/strike_w/archives/1638672.html

The fact that all VF-0 have low-thrust vernier motors on their airframes is indicative of their being developed for use in space in some manner. That said, it's strongly implied that the VF-0B has been modified so it's performance in space is greater than that of the VF-0A, D and S, and I am hoping that this book provides some information on that.
-
No worries. There's a lot of bad translations out there. I think my favourite is "brief 25" when it's supposed to have been "VF-25".
-
Erm, you do realize that space-worthy vehicles are designed to keep relatively low atmospheric pressure inside, and submersibles are designed to keep relatively high water pressure outside, right?

Can you clarify who the "their" is referring to?

Right now? No where. It's not even being listed on the DeAGOSTINI home page!

This is odd... there's nothing on the net indicating anything about it, aside from this: http://www.7netshopping.jp/magazine/detail/-/accd/1200602173 which indicates: a) Hiroshima City Edition b) released January 16th

I disagree. I've been intrigued with the B variant ever since it's first appearance in Tenjin Hidetaka's first Valkyries with the words "Space Proving Wing" stencilled on the side. As we're all well aware, the VF-0 is an atmospheric fighter. Therefore, the implications are that the 0B has some extra modifications for space use.

Funny you should mention that... as I was looking them up (for another site) earlier today. It's not there. But you can keep checking this: http://www.amazon.co...sl_5elyc2kigh_e (in short it's a search for "Variable Fighter Master File" on the site. The Softbank Creative page w/ same search: http://www.sbcr.jp/search.php?w=%E3%83%B4%E3%82%A1%E3%83%AA%E3%82%A2%E3%83%96%E3%83%AB%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%83%BB%E3%83%9E%E3%82%B9%E3%82%BF%E3%83%BC%E3%83%95%E3%82%A1%E3%82%A4%E3%83%AB This site: http://www.getchu.co...phtml?id=730979 has some info of note:

What happened to the rest of the 1/72 Frontier kits?
sketchley replied to bullet101's topic in Model kits
This, I think, is the killing blow. I waffled for months before deciding to get a VF-27 kit. It's excellent! But, the price point is extremely high, compared to decent Gundam kits available at 1/5 the price. Nevertheless, going back to the question in the OP: the main reason, IMHO, that we don't see the VF-171 is that it requires a lot of development/engineering/whatever you want to call it, and the market for it is smaller than that for the "hero" Valkyries. At present, they've effectively designed and made only 1 and a half molds to get all the VF-25 and VF-27 kits. There are a LOT of unused parts in the VF-27 kit that are presumably used in the VF-25. In addition, the additional things (QF-4000, radome, Grace's pilot bust), don't require a redesign of the base kit. It's odd that a YF-29 kit didn't come out. But that may be due to the lack of sales of the 1/100 YF-29 kit and the lack of an ongoing series to assist in marketing by the time such a kit came out (as memory serves, the 1/100 kit was rushed out to coincide with the release. The 1/100 VF-25F quickly followed. Aside from a few re-releases of the two with different colours and decals, that line's dried up, too.) -
Not just that, but the 0B, as well as a fuller explanation of the 0D's "enhanced EW capabilities".
-
Hopefully the resident MII experts will chime in on this at some point... If memory serves, in the MII timeline, the VF-1 was basically considered sufficient. There were some upgrades over the years, namely the ~R series, which is in use in 2036. Pictures here: http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/macross2036/index.htm The VF-4 doesn't appear to have replaced the VF-1. Eventually the VF-2SS is developed, but it doesn't get mass produced until the mid 2080's.
