Mechanic: Zero UN 04a QF-2001 Ghost / QF-2200D Ghost http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2853.0 ... and to summarize this one: QF-2001: general model QF-2200D-A: general model QF-2200D-B: avionics removed model (only usable as a VF-0 booster) QF-2200D long-range reconnaissance model What the sheet says about the QF-3000E is also amusing.

<Sigh> You know, most people have ripped the pages out of their covers and organized that publication the way the publisher intended... by mechanic, character, etc.. It's almost like you're trying to obfuscate your source...

Specifically, the verb is: 生成する Which translates as: creation; generation; formation; derivation (source: http://ryouko.imsb.n...-bin/wwwjdic?1F ) Dude, what other definitions can refine and non-pure have when referring to materials? Silly. Dude. The problem is not your definitions or their subtle nuances, the problem is you are using words that describe TOTALLY different actions. Refine: http://dictionary.re...m/browse/refine Pure: http://dictionary.re...m/browse/purity (1st definition) Dude.

Uhm, like... no. Frothymug and myself have been saying that the Vajra have been acquiring a raw material that is transformed into fold quartz. Fold quartz does not equal fold carbon... nor do raw materials equate to fold quartz in an "unrefined" or "low purity" state. If you had only used "reform", then yes, we would have been saying the same thing. But alas, you've continually stressed that the Vajra only refine what you're implying is a naturally occurring substance. Ref:

Now THIS makes sense. Of course it begs questions like why do they have to go to dying stars, when the expanding gas cloud of a supernova contain infinitely more heavy elements, but that's all beside the point.

Mechanic: D7 UN 01b: VF-5000 Star Mirage http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2851.msg43548#msg43548 So... lessee if I get this right: VF-5000: general model VF-5000G: general model VF-5000G: command model VF-5000T-G: general model Anywho, it's an interesting gimmick of those buttress plates to fit the dorsal booster more snugly against the back in battroid form.

Uhm, I was taking about WHERE IT COMES FROM. Not what it is. You've mentioned, again, that they "obtain it", and I direct you to my quote (again): "formed inside the Vajra's bodies".

Which is odd, as it doesn't mesh well with other materials on the topic. Ie: Pash #02's: "It is a purple, crystal-shaped material that is formed inside the Vajra's bodies." Now, if the dead stars serve as a source of fold carbon (in other words, the subtitles you guys have read are a mistranslation), then it fits well with the other materials.

Me, too (re: linky not working). FYI: the VF-25 was developed using the YF-24 as a template. NOT The VF-19.

You're assumption that not taking a girl or air conditioner to bed indicating that someone is not heterosexual? Just because something isn't shown, doesn't mean it's not there. Ie landing gear on most VFs. Just because we've not seen them animated doesn't mean they don't have them. Now, if there is a specific thing that indicates the character is not heterosexual (as in he was spotted making out with the piano man), then indicate where it is in the official setting and no one will bother you about homophobia.

Yes. -
and just where does the info that the Vajra do that come from? I was under the impression that they create it from fold carbon...

... and maybe, just maybe people will read his posts once more...? Kudos to you for trying that edjamukation thing.

I believe others have mentioned that the 1985 + anime gaining traction is merely a myth perpetuated by a company that wants to make their product sound more important than it actually was. Predating that we had, Star Blazers and Astro Boy, to name but a few.

Don't remember translating something along those lines. Though that doesn't mean that I haven't translated it

Missed something. It's also one of the reasons why the sets & lighting are so bright - it's been intended from the start that darkness will be added in post, to suit the distribution format (3D moderate darkness, 2D heavy darkness). -
Thanks!

Dude, if you're going to base your arguments on the "one isolated incident" that MII is and it's limited portrayal of technology, then you can't use it against others to dismiss their arguments 'cuz you've effectively negated yours. Dude.

Mechanic M7 UN 14b Macross 5 Fleet: http://www.macrossroleplay.org/forums/index.php?topic=2473.msg43528#msg43528 The impressions I get of the laser sensor is that it's a type of LADAR... but that's just speculation by me. I count a total of 13 chairs in the Northampton class's bridge. Anyone get a different number?

My focus was the dimensions of the airframe: VF-1: 14.78 m VF-5000: 14.03 Indicative of interest in stealthiness, yes, but also strongly implying developments in the micronization of engine and other internal systems. Something that hasn't apparently occurred in the MII timeline (ie: more engine power from something smaller in size). You've indicated that the MII engines have an increased power (MW) generation capability, but not necessarily more thrust nor a reduction in engine size.

... and finished the VF-5000 article (linky 2 posts above).

Nope. Internal micro-missile launchers and other weapon pallets (usually in the engine nacelles, used for such things as (non-micro) missile launchers, gun pod storage, etc), is a sign of interest in stealthiness. This is backed up by official setting information. It's also a trend that started in the VF-4 and is not indicative of enlarged air-frames per se. Micronization of things like engines, perhaps.
