  1. Oh god not this carp again, didn't I bring this up like two years ago. Please just let it die.
  2. Here is something from an article that Egan Loo wrote around the time that the Animeigo DVDs were released it had a pretty good VF development chart with most of what was knwon at the time: http://www.ex.org/3.3/09-feature_macross_mecha.html
  3. Didn't the compendium used to have a text version of this chart?
  4. That thing is really fugly
  5. He he He he, you guys would probably have given your left sack to go where I got to go on friday and manhandle what I got to manhandle. Let's just say that a certain facility in east palmdale had a fair number of folks from my squadron get a tour, and well some very pretty very high tech, very expensive toys got a lot of attention and petting.
  6. I've set up the initial homepage for my books. It is far from complete, pretty much all the pages are stubs, but I will post updates as that changes. Feedback is appreciated: http://spiralwar.homestead.com/
  7. Waterworld IIRC actually started production without a completed script, they built all these elaborate sets, costumes, boats, etc... without having a defined story beyond, the earth had been flooded by global warming. Then they started filming, made a lot of publicity and teaser shots to keep the studio interested and putting money into it before someone finally said, hey we need a writer for this. But at that point the damage had been done so they had to work in all these crazy things costner wanted, and even a script written by Joss Whedon, which was stripped and rejected couldn't save it. All in all waterworld was an overpriced POS, with little story and with what could have been a great moral lost.
  8. He will be missed, an excellent author and story teller who made science fun and accessible to the masses.
  9. aargh, can't see at work, please post
  10. Does the mouth open and fire its big cannon?
  11. Nice pic, somewhat erotic in nature without having any nudity, very well composited really almost like what you would see in a series right before they cut away from a love scene.
  12. Why would the order matter, if you know your valks you will recognize them, arranging them by size is just fine, if anything all it should need is the names next to them.
  13. Nicely done, some errors but otherwise very well done
  14. Need more Hikaru/Misa art, maybe somethign showing them on the Megaroad.
  15. The VF-4 transformation is pretty simple, just look at the lineart, but remember that the upper legs are housed inside the inner wing structure, that is why they are not visible.
  16. Exo I just puked all over my keyboard reading that, jeez man I thought you had taste, oh god, the mental image is burning my brain. Need Mind-Bleach someone pass me the frigging yoshinol
  17. watched the first episode, and well it didn't grab me. The characters were flat and boring with no real emotion, and for the most part were just a bunch of elitist jerk offs. The space battles were pretty and impressive to watch, but show the completely wrong way to wage war, and shows that the Tytania has such a tech advantage over the fleet that there is no reason that they shouldn't just walk right over them, given their more powerful weapons and shield tech. The only thing that the other fleet had was those big guns, but they detontated after use, that is no way to make a giant killer weapon system, it is hugely wasteful and would quickly bankrupt any government using them. I may give it one or two more episodes, but unless the characters or story really starts to grab me I will let it go.
  18. Many of us in the USA discovered macross through row-boat-tech, but as we got older we discovered the truth and moved on. We are not fanatics, the row-boat-tech fans are the fanatics as they cling to the idea that their version is the correct and better version, which it is not. If the RT heads would simpyl let go of RT and accept the original three as produced many headaches would go away, and perhaps even HG would either cease to be, or would concede defeat to BW to allow the real Macross into the USA. THen, and only then could we ever get a HW produced live action Macross that would hoepfully not be a steaming pile. As it is, this will be a steaming pile, now excuse me while I go watch robo-jocks, probably the only decent live action giant robot film ever made.
  19. *checks weapons locker, decides none of the rifles are large enough* Excuse me while I call in an airstrike, what were your cooridnates again retroborg, never mind I think you're on Exos frapper map.
  20. You know that kind of makes sense. Think about it, the normal fold booster from the Mac+/7 era has a range of about 20LY, but it is reusable and therefore built larger and more robust. BUt you detach it as soon as you get in theatre because it has too much mass and would hinder your combat effectiveness. Now that is fine, if the mission is a success and you can get back to it, but what if the mission goes bad and you have to beat feet out of dodge and don't have time to attach the booster before some big bad blasts you out of space. Well if you have a simpler one way fold booster there is your answer. The thing is probably only good for one use no matter the range you go, so it is basically a last ditch escape measure.
  21. The light setup needs work, head over to sci-fi meshes they have a nice tutorial on how to set up light rigs.
  22. Ok, maybe the trek military is different, but bear with me here. At the beginning of TOS Kirk is the captain of the enterprise, meaning he has elevated through the ranks from Ensign (straight out of the academy) through the LT grades, Commander and up to Captain. Now, Spock was a Commander, maybe he graduated with Kirk, or within a year, but accelerated slower then Kirk, as a science officer that is likely if he was not in a command program, same with Scotty and McCoy. Now, Uhura was what, an LT, Sulu an Ensign, maybe a LT-JG, and CHekov was definitely an ensign when he first appeared. So, unless Uhura, Sulu, and Chekov were serious F-Ups, there is no way that they could have been in the academy at the same time as Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and Scotty. Now, perhaps Kirk, and the more senior officers have returned for some form of command enhancement training with the young cadets, but there is still a disparity regarding their ages and ranks, the younger cadets would probably range from freshman to seniors, and a mix like that on any type of training cruise or training exercise would be unlikely. But then again this is trek where military anything is thrown a few light years out of the airlock.
  23. Whoever said that you are too fat needs to be beaten, you are gorgeous and need to show us far more sheryl cosplay
  24. Ok, who the heck posed those things, as if the sculpt weren't bad enough it looks like Michels VF-25 Is doing a pelvic thrust, what is full sized Klan Klan standing right in front of him?
  25. This could be 11 kinds of awesome, and I very much look forward to it, in regards to the suit design, the suits evolve constantly throughout the book, just like the people do, and the backlash from a certain lifestyle choosing group could be quite harsh. Anyone who has read the book will know what I mean.
