New macross saga based movie (Robotech Genesis)
Knight26 replied to kamikaze_kamujin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
For the love of god someone show them how to turn on the anti-aliasing filter. And that ADF-1 looks like the unholy love child of the Macross and those southern cross ships with a hint of mospeada thrown in there. -
Loved the show, loved the manga, great hard sci-fi, just wish that the Manga didn't end leaving you hanging the way it did.

The book for RoTS also stretched the narrative out over a much longer time, several months from how it read. The movie made it seem like it all took place within a few weeks at most. The book handled the fall much better as well, you see much more of the inner anguish and torment that Anakin went through, and can understand to a much greater degree why he eventually falls. It still wasn't enough to save the PT though, and really all it would have taken is a few little tweaks throughout it to make it so much better.- 1217 replies

I think Lindem Herz stated it well. Their modelling and animation is fine, but their designs are horrible and show no sense of engineering design principles. In my own designs everything has a purpose, there are no "hey would cool tacked on here" parts. If something is there it has a purpose. What is the purpose of those stupid balls on the shoulders, or the ridiculously huge guns or unneeded fins. Besides I think the whole of the production is tripe, it makes no sense to make, the designs are a mess, now the animation itself looks great for a fan production, almost better then Shadow Chronicles in some ways. -
Considering I work on flight testing UAVs and UCAVs for the USAF I have an inside line on the 'cuda because of work we've done with EADS. However due to OPSEC I will keep my mouth shut, though I might be able to confirm anything that DH says if it is publicly known. And I agree that the Cuda is the most Ghost looking UAV out there right now.

Looks like something out of Jovian Chronicles, and not in a good way, these designs are pretty bad, especially for variable fighters. -

Thanks for hte pics, I think most are old but that is no biggie. The more I look at it the more I think that pushing down on the cockpit will slide the chest armor pieces into place. There is probably then some kind of button we can't see in any of the shots on the underside to push the cockpit back up, and probably out as well then. Infact I'll bet that it will push out some kind of plug that will act as a chest lock of some kind to keep the torso sturdy. -

Macross Frontier Mecha/Technology Thread IV *Read 1st Post*

The limiter that Guld disabled was likely the G-Limiter, much like they have in modern day aircraft. All modern day fighters can out-G their pilots, but software limiters are built into their flight control computers that keep the aircraft from doing so, except for instantaneous turns, and in the case of Russian Aircraft, they have a button on the stick that allows them to temporarily turn off the limiter. WHen Guld turned off that limiter it allowed him to take the YF-21 all the way up to its G-limit, now did he sustain those Gs, not likely, more then likely he would thrust and manuever quickly, recover for a few seconds, thrust and manuever quickly, recover, etc... until he made the final suicide strike. See, he set up a pattern that the Ghost learned, and then faked it out at the last instant bursting to the full G-limit just long enough to smash into the ghost at the cost of his own life, or maybe he arrogently thought he could survive it, but of course he couldn't. As for the VF-25&27, if they have some kind of G-dampener in the cockpit then that would protect the pilot and allow the VF to reach more closely, or actually reach its G limit. This would allow the VF-25&27 to be more manueverable then the VF-19&22. And, as has been stated if that same system were to be incorporated into the VF-19&22, they probably would be able to outmanuever the VF-25&27 due to the fact that those two mecha were more resistant to G loads. Personnaly I think that would be hilarious to see in a sequel or second season, Alto and crew see a flight of VF-19&22s and think that they will be able to totally take them, but end up getting spanked because they have been refitted with the cockpit G-dampener. -
Ok seriosuly, do you enjoy talking out of your rectum? Any starship would be constructed in space not on planet, no matter the stresses involved. Look at even modern day fighter manufacturing, the certain components of the eurofighter can only be built at certain times of the month when the moons gravitation pull is just right, otherwise they won't meet spec. A starship that travels throughout the galaxy would have even tighter tolerances, and there is no way that you could meet those tolerances on a planet as gravitationally inconsistent as the Earth. The only place such things could be accomplished is in space. And that is only one of many, many, many examples.

I've posted a minor update based on some critiques, still a major work in progress, but the ABOUT, NEWS and DOSSIER pages are up with a sample Dossier on Blazer.

I'm not saying that all fanfilms are carp, some are well made and interesting, usually funny. BUt this peice of drech, no thanks, I can't stand what I see when I look at it, especially the mechanical designs, many of which were the hallmark of Macross. Sorry but I will pass so far away from this thing I might as well be orbitting another star. -
GMDX.6? What is that? I must be out of the loop.
