Does the backpack sit up properly in fighter/gerwalk without small vertical stabs?

how do they look in fighter mode?
  3. In regards to the cable and standing on the hull to snipe. Sniping is hard, it is one the most difficult tasks there is because of all the forces and distances involved. Traditionally a sniper stays as still as possible, making only minute adjustments to their position in order to take a shot, taking a shot while on the move is extremely difficult. The best targets are ones that are static, but in this situation that isn't possible. In space you have movement along and about all three axis' on the part of the target and the shooter. By having the valk with the sniper rifle shooting from the "stable" position of the city-25's hull it taxes six movements out of the equation, unless you count the movement of city-25 itself. It is the therefore easier to compensate for movement of the target when all motion is relative to a "fixed" point in space, city-25. If he were free floating he would have to compensate for his own movement, rotation, velocity, acceleration, pertubations due to position adjustments, etc... along with those of the target. By sitting on the hull of the ship those factors are effectively reduced to zero. Remember even if the valk is still except for moving the rifle while free floating any movement will impart a motion on the whole, be it a spin or translation movement. Now as for the cable. Fuel/reaction mass, is expensive, no matter how you look at it. In order for the valk to quickly reach its shooting perch it can either twist about to jet down, loosing sight of the target, then reorient and slow to a soft landing, burning fuel and time, or... As seen in the show fire its anchoring cable and reel itself in at a know speed, assuming some kind of overtech cable system it might even be able to brake itself relatively easily to cushion the impact. This has been experimented with by astronauts aboard the space shuttle and space station, mostly the russians aboard MIR, back when she was flying. Beyond the retraction capability of the anchor cable, it could also provide some limited stability in the case where the sniper doesn't have time to reel into the surface. If the valk is attached to the city-25 and can somehow make the cable go rigid, say through some kind of overtech Energy Converting Armor system, or muscle fibers in the cable, it can achieve a similar effect tolanding on the surface of City-25, though pertubations would be more likely and more exagerated then on the surface, but less then while free floating.
  4. I've never seen that version before. Where is it from?
  5. I can't see that website here at work, can someone post the pictures here?
  6. I can't stand the Lynch version, the deviations make no sense whatsoever and made it cheesy beyond compare, that and the twin peaks casting made the thing a joke to watch. I love the mini-series though, sure it was made on a tight budget and it shows, but the acting is better, the casting is better and it is truer to the source material. The deviations in it also made a lot more sense to me, replacing the characters doing all the political manuevering with Chani made a lot of sense and fleshed out her character more. The Children of Dune sequel was also great and the fact that it had a higher budget showed through really well. And I agree, bring on God Emperor of Dune, I want my fish speakers, and my wife wants her Duncan Idaho. Though I would really like to see some more of Children of Dunes Ghanima as well.
  7. First instance I know of of the magazine wrapping around the barrels though.
  8. Check this out, looks like someone working on the JSF might be a macross fan, or at least macross inspired: check out pages 8, 9 and 10
  9. Interesting, will wait and see.
  10. Most I would call bullshit on, for very, painfull obvious reasons.
  11. Very nice, but one of those shots, the size comparison shot makes me think that some of these may have come from Sentinels, what with that one including the hovertank and something resembling the updated zent battlepod.
  12. Ok, finally finished downloading this thing and watched it real quick, my comments. The new prologue parts and PSX footage really doesn't mesh well, there is just too great a difference in animation, and story wise they don't work becuase you have no idea of the conflict going on there. The zentraedi fleet scene, that was completely unneccessay and looked very bad. Integration of the 2012 footage to the concert, sorry that really hits me the wrong way, none of it meshes correctly, justy put it at the end where it belongs.
  13. It was definitely different then most of your podcasts, you came off so high energy about how much you loved it I almost expected you to jump out a few minutes into it and yell, it sucks. Now I don't love Mac-7 the way some do, but I don't hate it either. I just find that it took what was essentially a very dark and introspective, if not spiritual tale that sheds a ton of light on the whole macross backstory and lightened it way too much. If anything I think that the fell of the Mac-7 movie fits the general story much better, it is darker, it is moodier, which the heart of the story truly is. Now I'm not saying it should be remade, far from it, I hate remakes for the most part, but if say the whole franchise were to be rebooted/redone then macross-7 should definitely be redone with a darker, moodier feel.
  14. For the most part I like it, but I've never been big on the medievil visor look, much prefer the original mask, and I don't care for the sculpted muscles either, more commando, less ninja for me, but overall not terrible.

  16. I agree I love the fighter modes most of all, and really the only moving parts for a fighter mode only valk toy would be the undercarriage, canopy, control surfaces, and maybe parts for attaching fast packs, like the VF-1 tail folding and legs kneeling. Then like has been suggested openning access panels on a few key areas would be nice. I know I would love to buy those up since my valks stay in fighter mode most of the time, since unlike some on here, I can't afford three of every one that comes out to show them in all modes.
  17. Is it burnable to CD and if so, how?
  18. Very nice, just need a translation, otherwise it's like my old Area-88 manga, lovely to look at, can only barely follow the plot by just the pictures.
  19. Dang it I can't see what EXO did, freaking firewall at work prevents me from seeing photobucket stuff.
  20. You mean the VF-XX is Mac2 canon and appears, screencap, screencap
  21. I'm on a tight budget and really can't get the big stuff too often anymore, damn ranch, so these might be just the ticket for me.
  22. I love that YF-19 custom engine, very nicely done.
  23. Graham is now staring at those pics of the VF-17 model and trying to contemplate the strange feelings of excitement he is now having. Anyway, what scale are they, and isn't the nose on the VF-17 shorter then that?
  24. I had an idea for a possible sequel to this years ago, where it was Alex rebuilding the starfighter legions. If it is something like that where Alex Rogan is now something like the general above the whole starfighter legion and they are going up against Kodan Armada in some massive ball busting battle, I am all for it.
  25. What pic makes you think that, I see nothing to even give a hint at this point.
