Any hobbies other than macross?
Sanity is Optional replied to ErikElvis's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
So, all of those are actually in Pathfinder 2e as well. Spells can be heightened into higher level slots for better effects (spells no longer scale with caster level, only slot level). Spell DCs however scale with character level, and not by spell level. Auto-scaling unlimited usage cantrips Metamagic is actually available to all casters, to a certain extent. Pathfinder 2e uses a feat system, and metamagic is something you can buy with class feats, so long as it's on your class feat list. Example: Reach is a metamagic available so Sorcs at lvl 1, it allows you to spend an action to add +30' range to the next spell you cast this turn. No daily limit, no spell slot cost. -

I believe the adventure from the beginner box is a good place to start if you want to give it a try, from everything I've heard it's very well put together as a system introduction. As to the complaints, I can say that the people saying there's only a few optimal builds are full of crap. There's a huge number of possible character builds even within a single class, and generally speaking they're not significantly under or over-powered compared to eachother, so long as you set your stats right for what you want to do (I.E. don't make a 14str character as a primary melee combatant). Sure, there might be a specific build that comes out a percent or two better in a specific situation, but I'm not aware of any builds that break the game anything close 3.5e style. The math is pretty well separated from everything else, and character building is mainly about selecting which options to attach to the same math. The biggest complaints are from people who played spellcasters in 3.5/Pathfinder 1, for the simple reason that spellcasters are heavily nerfed vs those editions. Spellcasters have fewer spells per day and apart from your highest available spell levels aren't terribly useful for combat against like-level enemies. Spellcasters are going to feel a lot less powerful. I'm on the fence on if they went a little too far, but it also depends highly on your GM, and mine likes extended adventuring days with restricted resting ability (which also nerfs spellcasting). -
I kinda want the pack, but have no need for another Strike.

My group was to start up in-person again yesterday (been using Roll20 to play online), but someone was sick (not COVID) so we're delaying another week. We play Pathfinder 2e, found it has a nice mix of simpler and more balanced math combined with huge amounts of mechanical character customization. We shifted from 3.5 to Pathfinder (effectively 3.75) once WOTC stopped 3.5 support, and then gave Pathfinder 2e a shot when it came out and liked it. -

I suspect that in general people who have moved their taskbar are also more likely to be somewhat computer literate, and thus less likely to interface with computer setup/repair personnel. -
It's on the US P-Bandai site right now. https://p-bandai.com/us/item/N2580351001001

That's kinda where I'm at. I've got both GFFMC Wing Zeros, but none with the more TV or proto- style wings.

Started putting together the LEGO Land Rover today. That is a monstrously complex powertrain. Unfortunately, it's also got quite a lot of friction, and it'll only let the thing roll when in higher gears, at the lowest gears it even skipped a tooth somewhere when I tried to roll it. I guess that's the limit of what can be achieved without any actual friction reducing elements like bearings or grease.

Sounds a lot like the P-Bandai recolor gunpla releases, you can get some very interesting color combos. -

I worked for a start up (for almost a decade), where the founder/CEO/owner was asked to retire by the investors (who could have forced the issue). It can happen.- 91 replies

I'm a bit surprised that the "Dream Cats" Macross Zero F-14 is still up for sale on their website. So either they're blowing smoke, or they've definitely reached an agreement with BW somehow.- 91 replies

Just put in an order from Mandarake, and they let me know that EMS shipping was about $20 cheaper than DHL on it. HMR CF VF-1A and a MG gunpla.
-
More or less what I do. I throw everything in the box, and start taking things out to see when I hit a shipping breakpoint.

Btw, both are available on the US P-Bandai website. https://p-bandai.com/us/item/N2530645001001 https://p-bandai.com/us/item/N2563438001001

There's also the possibility that there's fewer breaks due to people not handling them much (due to difficult transformation). Also, I recall issues on release of the tampo peeling off of the wings (the gold emblems) when the "protective" film was removed. Probably put a damper on buying, similar to the Arcadia SV-51 leg issue.

Well, found a place online selling the Excavator for $330 with free shipping so...

Well, I just picked up a PF Roy VF-1S Strike from Jungle in essentially new condition, a bit under $400 shipped. A DX Roy would be ~$270, plus whatever market is for the strike packs. Arcadia is slightly cheaper, not by that much though.

Personally I found that once I bought a condo, my scale of money just went out the window. Sure I might care about an extra $100, but at this point $20 difference is more about the principle than anything else. I still do the pre-order madness, but it's more because I can. -
Mari Ijima and Macross...
Sanity is Optional replied to Kronnang Dunn's topic in Movies and TV Series
It doesn't help that some people conflate the (voice) actor with their character so much. -
Well, from my personal perspective, the Bayverse aesthetic, horrible underside kibble, panel-origami, and complete screen-innaccuracy in the transformation kills any value to the transformation. May as well just have 2 separate figures that are each more accurate (and more poseable). So that's at least one person who avoids the product line because of the mechanical stupidity of the Bay designs. Of course, could be that Macross designs have spoiled me, or could be because I'm a mechanical engineer. Either way, one less person buying TF schlock.
