  1. What their future mecha need is definitely more homage to old schemes instead of just Jolly Rogers (though they could definitely still have a Jolly Rogers "Skull Squadron" scheme). Show more decent and/or elite squadrons using Sundowners, Knights, etc etc.
  2. I liked Mospeada as much as Macross in Robotech. I also liked the progression, which made sense. That said, Southern Cross never really fit as well. What they should be doing rather than sequels is plugging the gaps more if not retconning. I detest reboots in principle. Completely unnecessary. Better to go forward and maybe plug gaps (Macross to Southern Cross & Southern Cross to initial Invid Invasion). In a way Frontier showed how they should handle it. Get rid of the UN Spacy kite (always a bit too Japanese anyway) - Go with a colored circle, blue maybe, with a different emblem in it, ideally a styled form of a new generation of mecha (Delta, Epsilon fighters or whatever) - and anything to keep going forward and make the history stuff spoken of in the background. The Zentraedi are mostly dead since it's only the Bodolza fleet unlike SDF Macross so everyone else should be hybridized. They can run with their Mospeada concepts without legal issues and if they're successful they could perhaps be in a decent position to negotiate to reincorporate the old stuff And tell new stories, too. Even if they're not good, they can build on it. But they definitely need better creative talent.
  3. I want Skyfire! But am about to give up on finding MP Grimlock in a TRU
  4. If they were going to go original, I'd like to see them do Sentinels. Ditch most of their retarded carebear, pegasus & amazon, etc concepts and basically make the Regis' Invid "masculine" variations of those from Mospeada, and adjust their Inhumans. Go with the original red organic non-transforming SDF-3, etc. IOW, everything I wanted around 1994-1995.
  5. I still the idea of "Americanizing" Macross 7.
  6. I'm guessing the MP Grimlock is gone and not coming back? I've only seen it at Frank & Sons for $120 not once in any of 4 x TRU didn't seem to matter opening, mid day, or late night... Not interested in that UM at all, but never been that fond of the character, either. I do like cartoon accurate more than toy replication so wasn't really expecting an MP10 with clip on trailer armor (though I think such SHOULD have been doable and would have been nice)
  7. As a kid, I always figured he was the leader because of the random act of touching the Matrix first when it fell from Optimus' hands rather than it being anything innate to himself. Regardless it's the writers fault. If they hadn't put so much angst in him, the clamor to bring back Optimus might not have been as huge. Can still be a good leader relying on Kup for advice, etc without being such a wussy.
  8. Meh, still can't fnid one. Might have to start considering paying the evilbay premium.
  9. Hit 2 more TRU today but none. I would hope MP Galvatron is next. I don't even want another Megatron until Galvatron is done first. Then Cyclonus and Scourge.
  10. I would buy 2 for $60 each. At $80, I'd buy one. Can't find a Grimlock yet, though.
  11. I hit two different TRU, one by my work and one by my house and nada. Didn't even see tags for em. Normal TF area right?
  12. Whoah TRU reissue Grimlock? I've been out of a bit. I gotta start hitting up all the local TRU.
  13. From the trailers, they're doing what I guessed they were going to do and make her the poor misunderstood anti-hero and all the good guys from Disney were really bad guys. Definitely going to wait to the bootleg download.
  14. If you believe that one kid, Singer is into that sort of thing at parties. Which is probably more seriously why there's no toys, either, I'd imagine. Of course, maybe Playmates or whoever let the license slip? Saw it today. It was pretty good. I liked First Class (minus the cheese moments, of course), better. I don't know the comics well enough to appreciate the end credits scene, though think I know enough from the 90's cartoon to figure out what they're doing. I did read a funny article about the continuity problems somewhere where I guess Trask was in a previous movie (X2?) as the bald black dude from Predator and Commando. Good luck explaining THAT one.
  15. I still need to see this one. I couldn't finish the first one even as a Blu-ray loaner. Once he started crying I was done. I prefer most of the Raimi Spiderman but did like a few aspects. Not entirely it's fault. I just increasingly despise origin stories. Peter Parker is a crybaby, too. Not just Tobey.
  16. Once they start that, there's no stopping it. It's one reason prequels themselves and filling in every single section of the timeline is ... ill advised and things like TotJ going back a good ways is the best idea. I'll give half odds on whether VII-IX will be "real" canon since it's after the sale.
  17. I did enjoy this in 3D on the screen but man... way too much bad crap was happening to her but it didn't manage to kill her. I would have also preferred they left it with her hatch blowing and floating instead of the sinking part. I would have loved this much more if it had just been the space station her getting blown clear and then returning back to first the shuttle and then the station and taking an escape pod back instead of the whole Chinese and Russian things. No 3D at home but I didn't think it was THAT vital, though I was fully immersed and not distracted by it, either.
