  1. It seems to me like the VF-1 itself and the super/strike parts are not bundled together. Meaning it would be over $200 for the combination. As @Slave IV said, not such a great deal for a KO. This sounds to me like what may be going on here.
  2. Nice Fire Bomber costumes and instruments. As a guitarist myself, I wonder if people who make guitar props like these start with an actual guitar? Maybe just the neck?
  3. That’d be a great background for the VT-1.
  4. If you mean that Ragnarok was the best of the Thor movies, I’d have to agree. It was pretty solid, better than Black Panther in my opinion. I’ll also be sad to see Captain America leave, as he’s probably my favorite character as well. I think his first movie and the first Iron Man might be my favorite MCU films, partly because I really enjoy origin stories.
  5. Such classic chatacters... If they made the Zentradi, I wonder how they would scale to the “micronians”? And I don’t remember that purple UNS uniform on Miria during the show. Am I forgetting some scene?
  6. I'm hoping they make a super VF-1S, especially if it comes with Hikaru. Super or not, surely they'll eventually do a VF-1S, and hopefully a TV version to go with the VF-1J.
  7. This was exactly my thoughts as well, along with the idea that the flashback might only be a couple of minutes out of the entire film. If it were truly a reboot (as others have commented) then it’d be a lot more encouraging. But if they’re planning this as a prequel, and using these teasers to lure in the G1 die hards (like me) then I think many of us will be disappointed. Still, though, it’s the first TF movie since 2007 that I’m actually interested in seeing.
  8. So, I’ve been giving some thought to getting a PVM (not necessarily Sony) for my retro systems. For those that have done this already, what have you done as far as audio? Knowing that PVM internal speakers are usually pretty bad, I’m thinking I’d want to get something external. I have a component switch that I run everything through, so I could theoretically take the stereo audio channels from that via RCA out.
  9. I just realized that these display bases are apparently made of the same components as what comes with the 1/100 armor. So if you had several of the 1/100 armor sets, you could put something like that together, minus the graphics. Looks like you’d basically need to buy two of the sci-fi system sets they sell in order to have enough parts to assemble in the Detolf the way that @Saburo did. And @sh9000, that armor painted like the GBP does look cool.
  10. I’m pretty sure that before the VT-1, the only HMR that came with the true non-super fighter stand adapter was the original VF-1J armored. The brown VF-1A included one for super parts. All the original Hi Metal VFs (except the strike Roy) from several years ago also included the correct fighter adapter.
  11. Cool! I own both of the original versions and don’t have a PS4, so this isn’t for me, but always nice to see great titles like these given respect and exposure. I wonder what they will look like emulated. And I’m assuming this is the original Rondo and not the remade version from the PSP?
  12. I can understand BW requiring a licensee to make anniversary schemes, but I can’t figure why they want them to be so overly colorful and decorated. In this example, I think if they toned it down some by removing maybe 40% of the striping and most of the lettering, it could look really good. I wasn’t really into the anniversary Messer scheme in HMR, but I thought it was much more tastefully done in terms of the amount of deco. Then again, at least they aren’t doing one of these:
  13. Hard to believe that anything could be as tank-like as the 1/55s, with their metal content and ratcheting joints. But I’d guess the larger DX scale would give them better durability. I’m starting to wish I’d put in a PO for one of these. Maybe when the inevitable VF-1S is announced.
  14. I figure you’ve got Max’s 1S apart for detailing or panel lining purposes, but it looks so wrong to see any Max valk displayed in pieces. That doesn’t happen to Max!
  15. You know, it's times like this when I wish I knew how to read Japanese. I'm guessing many of you guys just get these for the artwork?
  16. Cool news about the PlayStation mini. As the first disk-based console to take this approach, I think it paves the way for more. I wonder if load times will be shorter since games will surely be on solid state form? I was thinking back to my PS1 library, (which isn’t that extensive) and think that Gran Turismo should be on there as well as one of the Twisted Metal games. But I guess (like with Konami) it depends on who’s willing to license for it.
  17. Yeah, I think someone mentioned it a couple of pages back. It will be interesting to see how much their pre-owned selection develops. As far as a HMR VF-1J from Macross the First, I’d think that @sh9000 would have that on his custom list somewhere. I believe there was a magazine that had stickers you could use?
  18. Just to further clarify… I opened one of my VT-1s, and the right heel is indeed not swinging back far enough. The left side is fine. I checked 2 of my VF-1A CFs, and they both have the issue, though one only slightly. I also checked my VF-1J Milia and one of my VF-1J Hikarus, and the feet on both of those swing fully back as they should.
  19. I'd be willing to bet you could find a few people on here to take them off your hands at reasonable prices, especially if they're the "V2" later editions.
  20. Yeah, maybe 2019 will be a banner year for HMR!
  21. Seems like the Saturn was home to several good shooters (and 2D games in general) especially when you consider the ones only released in Japan. I never had a Saturn. I focused on the PlayStation (and somewhat the N64) during that time.
  22. Review of the 1/100 OWL One from @jenius is up on YouTube:
  23. Gaiares is a fantastic game, just incredibly difficult, at least for me. Then again, I'm not super skilled at shooters. I think my brother finished it back in the day, but I've never been able to get very far. (@jenius, did you ever complete Gaiares?) I just discovered Musha Aleste this year, and it's amazing. Haven't gotten past stage 2, but also haven't put that much time into it. Compile definitely knows (or knew) that they're doing. Super Aleste (Space Megaforce) is probably my favorite shooter of all time. I've beaten it countless times since 1992. I got a Famicom copy of Gun Nac, and am looking forward to trying that out. I never got into the Gradius series at all, and don't own any of them, unless you count Life Force (Salamander), which is pretty cool but I haven't played it lately. I'd say Konami's best shooter is Axelay. I picked up Thunder Force 3 a while back, and it's pretty impressive as well. I've got the Macross 2036 PC Engine game. I haven't played it a lot, and it seems like it's just OK. I'm currently trying to finish Macross Scrambled Valkyrie on the Super Famicom. Incredible game, even apart from the Macross tie-in. I am having to play it on easy mode, though. As I said, I'm not that excellent with shooter games.
  24. Hmm. I never played the original Ninja Warriors -- on the SNES, was it? Maybe I need to check it out. Edit: So... with current prices, I likely won't be checking it out anytime soon. Seems it's become a pricy one.
