  1. Does anyone know about the company that is making this? I think it is absolutely awesome that they are offering super parts plus the launch arm thingie in the deluxe offering! I have paid my $1 to ShowZstore, but a google search turned up nothing. Thanks, Twich
  2. Just amazing how tiny the VF-1 is compared to every Variable Fighter that followed it, save the VF-5000 and VF-9 Twich
  3. You are lucky sir! That is about my only problem with the reissue VF-31AX Hayate use. That and the folding knives won’t stay attached behind the arm shields! Twich
  4. I hope that this will be available post launch, as I didn’t get in on the pre-order. Might be nice to see at e-trailers like BBTS, .etc Twich
  5. Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t the SV-262 have an ISC that stores 30.8G? So, isn’t it a little better by 0.8G. I thought someone said that it was developed from the YF-29 ISC, but I maybe mistaken. Twich
  6. Looks like it might also have diecast feet….might be wrong though. Twich
  7. Anyone else notice the misprint and coverup? Could it be they printed a card for another Macross Zero VF-0 variant and were not prepared to announce it yet? A Shin use VF-0A perhaps? Inquiring/hopeful minds can hope/dream…. Twich
  8. This is just a general ask, and frankly, I’m kicking myself for not asking this before. Is there any publications or statistic listings for the variable fighters from Macross II? More specifically, how much better is the Metal Siren than the VF-2SS? What is the engine output and thrust? Also, why do we not have the same info about the VF-2JA? I know that MMM and Macross Compendium List the thrust output for the main engines of the VF-2SS, but nothing else…. Just wishing on a prayer, I guess….. Twich
  9. Yes, Reissue version. Sorry that I did not clarify that before. Twich
  10. I just received my copy of this from Mandarake. Comparing to my VF-31AX Mirage Custom, this toy is light years better. The tabs go right in, no trimming needed. The only “thing” is the mini-gun pods not tabbing in all the way and the inherent looseness at the wing roots. I think this is a design flaw and not something that can be fixed. I have just handles it a little, have not transformed it yet. Have to say that my initial impression is a good one. Twich
  11. I figured that it was probably misaligned, or jostled. I am looking forward to this, also really looking forward to your review of it Jenius! Twich
  12. The landing gear seems to be pretty well detailed as well. Looks like the gunpod will touch the ground though, unless that display is mistransformed. Twich
  13. Now I know from being on these boards for almost 2 decades and from discussions, humans, as of the late 2060's can synthesize fold carbon rather well, but still lack the ability to synthesize fold quartz. The fold carbon is present on the base line VF-31, and I may assume incorrectly, but is located next to the monitor turret on the spine of the fighter craft. I also recall you translating the fact that in the VF-31AX Variable Fighter Master File that one of the versions of the YF-29 had Fold Carbon in place of Fold Quartz to try to get the tap on the limitless energy from fold space to power the Energy Conversion Armor in all modes and power the weapons and boost the engine output to try to match the YF-29 that SMS let Alto use in the last battle with the Varja. Very interesting stuff. Twich
  14. Check out the gap in the forearms…..seems the lower arm might split apart to hide the hand, kind of reminds me of their Hi Metal R VF-2SS toy. Twich
  15. Not that I have read any Gundam books, but in my mind, Minofsky(sp?) particles where explained away in the same nebulous way that Robotech explained Protoculture fueling their Very-tech’s. All the gundam shows that I have seen use the particle field as a way to obscure sensors and to show where mobile suits have been and done battle. This explanation is rather interesting. Thank you for showing us this neat little nugget. Twich
  16. So I am curious about this “floating” VF-1…..Is it just a thin plastic shell with magnets in the bottom to create the repelling effect from the base? Seems an interesting desk ornament. Twich
  17. Sorry, was not trying to sound snarky with that response, but for me, the cost of shipping it from HK does come into effect, for the overall "inexpensiveness" of the toy. I meant to flush out my initial response by saying that if BBTS or similar e-tailer were to sell this new, cheaper packaged VF-1 for $90, then that is what I would consider to be a good deal. The $190 for the three toys is a "good deal". The cost of shipping though is a bit of a deal breaker. Twich
  18. well, when the cost of the shipping is equal to, or greater than the cost of the toy itself....... Twich
  19. So I wonder how much "less expensive" will be the price? Without stand, missiles and reduced packaging, would that justify a $50 price decrease? That might just make this a offer too good to pass up. Twich

    Arcadia VF-5000G

Thank You, I can see the resemblance, though certainly more organic looking then the VF-25 Super Pack Boosters Twich
  21. Watching this video, I am very impressed by this DX YF-21. The tampo does not bother me, the belly plates do not have glaring gaps, I remember first getting the Yamato 1/72 YF-21 Fast Pack toy when it first came out and couldn’t help thinking it looked like a rear end jacked up muscle car……look how far better this is? there will always be things that not everyone will like, but I sure am glad that I will be getting the opportunity to own a 1/60ish scale YF-21, when Bandai releases this beast! Arcadia VF-5000G

Unfortunately, I have not owned a Macross Design Work Book since early 2000’s, so I am out of the loop. Twich
  23. After I posted, I went and watched the video. I actually kind of dig the stylized VF-1J. The fighter mode reminds me of the VF-2SS, which someone already pointed out. Whatever the case, hope it is good quality and affordable. Twich
  24. So, I’m confused since everything is in prototype grey….the VF-1J says it is a transformable action figure, but the thing with the VF-1D head is a non-transforming action figure? it is difficult to gauge scale from a still photo. How big is this? HMR size, or closer to the new ThreeZero or Arcadia size? Thanks! Twich
  25. Don’t know why, put I am really excited about ThreeZero’s VF-1. Can’t wait to start seeing these out in the wild. Twich
