  1. Wow, thanks for all that info! So I'll probably get either the VF-1 or the VF-25 master files, as SDF Macross/Frontier are my faves. Depends on which one is available on purchase day. I prefer not to enter another rabbit hole...
  2. For those who collect the master files, what do you think is the best one in terms of quality of content? I'm thinking of getting another master file book I dunno which one to get first.
  3. A premium finish Roy VF1s??!! *looks at wallet and weeps*
  4. If the KOs released are of acceptable quality Arcadia will probably be in trouble. I'm not worried about Bandai because they sell lots of other stuff.
  5. I think that only applies if one just wants to collect the Yammies and other stuff released years ago. We now have Hi-Metal Rs and MacDelta DX Chogokins--more variety. But if the old stuff is what one focuses on, then you will have a hard time because of the prices. The only recourse for this is to be patient and hunt for bargains, or pay the high prices, or hope the stuff gets reissued. I fall in the last category--I also do want those perfect transformation valks. They're awesome. It's just that I am at a disadvantage space-wise and money-wise, and I have come to accept that. So they are not my priority anymore. Before I started on the HMR rabbit-hole, my only Macross toy was a Yammie 1/48 VF1A Max. I found it too big for me, and dreaded playing with it because I was afraid of breaking it. I was just content with collecting books and in the process of building a gunpla collection. A year ago I was on my trip to Japan and was looking for a regult kit. I didn't find a kit but I saw the HMR Regult--I had no idea what HMR was all about since I never really bothered with the Macross toy releases. So I researched about it. I came across the wonderful HMR thread at MWF--and the rest is history. Anyway, I have stopped collecting gunpla (thankfully I didn't buy a ton). Though my problem now is my toy budget that clashes with the book budget. It is a balancing game that I play all year.
  6. On the bright side, maybe they'll think twice before doing another anime to live-action movie. We can then avoid having our favorite anime being butchered in the live-action version. And I hope they learn the lesson that they have to get a good director and writer to start with.

Wow 18000 yen. A few thousand more and you could have the HMR Monster or an Arcadia VF1S.

    Macross Books

OK, looks like I'll have to translate it myself with Google Translate help.
  9. I've been playing select pieces from Walkure lately, and I like their rendition of Ai Oboeteimasu Ka better than the Frontier version. From their released stuff of 2 albums I like only about 13 songs from both, and I play them on loop. The tracks are not as amazing to me as Frontier music, but I still like them. I hope they're practicing and improving their music while there's no new Delta stuff in production. If they improve more it can only mean better music for all of us to enjoy.
  10. Not a fan of blushing but I would like Mirage to have more confidence in herself. Edit: typed reply to wrong thread note to self this is what happens when you open multiple tabs lol

    Macross Books

So I just got the first 2 Valkyrie books by Tenjin H, and I was wondering if somebody has already translated his interview at the back of the first book? Where do I find the translations?
  12. lol I thought it was deformation but instead it means kanzen henkei --> perfect transformation. Anyway... Damnit why August???!!! DX Mirage release is September they're just too near each other what about my wallet @_@ I love this couple but I'm not sure my finances can handle it (unless of course I get that new credit approved or I get a new job with a bigger salary). I didn't even get Roy's VF1S my fave pilot, so there is a big possibility I will be skipping this.

HMR Milia arrived today! But somehow I don't feel like opening her box without also opening Max's. And too tired to do it right now. At least there's only one more day to go till the weekend starts!

This line will continue until 2018 and beyond looks like my budget's gonna be tight for a while lol
  15. I hope it makes some more money. It was not that bad visually. How some visuals came to be: Ashthorp.com/ghost-in-the-shell
  16. When I first found this forum that gif would just make me laugh now that I'm in the rabbit hole it makes me laugh and cry--where do I get more money!? Haha
  17. Ooops didn't really calculate the age of this thread. Just searched for it instead of starting a new one.

My HMR Milia and valkyrie books have arrived at the post office! Now I wait to see if they deliver it or if I have to go and get them myself.
  19. Fuchikoma would have been better (tachikoma's were the ones with the silly conversations). Imagine a trailer showing tank vs tank action! You probably wouldn't need ScarJo to sell haha (but then the production cost would also go up..)
  20. Funny comments...(unfortunately the discussion soon degenerated) >>And for some reason Scarjo didn't move her arms when she walk? I too found it weird and then realized it was her way of acting like a cyborg. Still weird. And good to know I wasn't the only one who didn't like the director and the music. If they make enough money to justify a sequel I hope they get a new director and an above average composer. They got good actors but ruined it with the choice of director.

Lucky you. Mine was sent via EMS last week and status was only updated yesterday to have arrived (still not sure when it gets delivered). If I sent that thru SAL i'd probably be waiting months for it. But now I know that NY is in Ehime, and that the package went out via Osaka. That may partly explain why NY shipping is expensive.
