    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

Oh duh. Of course I should have seen what the retail price was before jumping to conclusions. I'm an idiot, ignore me.

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

Apparently it's at a ~2800 yen markup at amiami from when preorders first opened. Mine was 24240 as opposed to the current price of 27000. Can retailers do that on preorders? This is the first I'm seeing it...

    Macross figures

Regarding the EXQ Ranka, I asked HLJ and the relevant part of their response was thus: "The head of the product team tells me that we will be able to obtain this item, but quantities are not known at this time. Please keep an eye on our site!" Always A+ customer service team, they have.

    Macross figures

She's ostensibly the chief mechanic of Delta Squad and works on the VF-31As, too. But beyond the opening cinematics, I don't think she's ever shown actually working on them. (She gives Hayate the tutorial on why he doesn't need a helmet.) The EXQ Ranka figure will be releasing September 26. I'm seeing preorders up on YJA for ~1700 JPY, and Nin-Nin Game has it up for ~$30. https://www.nin-nin-game.com/en/japanese-import-banpresto-hobbies-and-figures/28797-macross-f-exq-figure-ranka-lee-banpresto-.html Hm... I'm reconsidering keeping my Sheryl figure up for sale now...
  5. These ARE all figures, right? Not kits? That Barbatos Lupus Rex "Dragon Lord" figure was originally a 1/100 conversion kit by a GK company called Model Bingo, who also did a Stargazer conversion for the MG Sword/Force Impulse Gundam.
  6. Dang, beat me to the punch. Oh well. I'm consistently amazed at how much better a job Kanno, May'n, and Nakajima do playing two voices off each other than Delta can with a five-member cadre.
  7. +1. You can mitigate the issue by lightly sanding down the socket the ball joint goes into (or shaving the ball joint slightly), which would make the joint a bit loose but at least you don't have to worry about the delicate plastic (much more delicate but better able to hold detail than Bandai's) breaking or warping. Best of luck, looking forward to the final results.
  8. All the review I need. BUY BUY BUY (No but seriously, reading the spoilers, I'm glad they at least frontload it all instead of killing the momentum of the story to waste time on it. Ideally they'd work it into the story better... or get rid of it entirely, if necessary.) Isn't there a second movie in the works? Or am I misremembering that, maybe even pulling it out of thin air?
  9. The review is enjoyable for what it is. The Plinkett reviews are kind of the genesis of the whole "frothing at the mouth blind rage criticism" review trend, but they still do it the best and the most smartly. They put more critical thinking into their reviews than other people do. Agree with you that the movie is a mess, disagree that that makes it not great. EDIT: whoops created a new page, here's the quote for those not in the know:
  10. HYYYPE But actually jeeesus that game is old. It must be what, 2001, 2002? Definitely the early days of the PS2, and it shows. It'd have been nice if they could have done slightly more to this a la the REmake, but given what it is, I understand them doing just what they have so far.
  11. Hello, welcome to the forums. Nice job so far. Is the "droid" simply referring to the inclusion of lights? Or are you motorizing it as well?
  12. Aoshima 1/48 Laevatein Last Battle Version model kit up at HLJ: https://hlj.com/product/AOS00955/Sci December release, ~$70
  13. CnP from the Draken thread:
  14. That same advert shows (picture is blown up 2x) - Egg Plane YF-19, October 1300 - 1/48 VF-1 photo-etched parts, October 2000 - 1/48 YF-19 photo-etched parts, October 2000 - 1/72 Reactive Armored VF-0S, November 9 4800 - 1/72 VF-1S Lynn Minmay Guard, December 16 3800 - 1/72 VF-31A Kairos, December 26 3800
  15. It's kind of hard for me to ever get into other "alternate designs" when they hit the ball so far out of the park with the sole canon alternate design. And that was the Eva LOSING armor instead of gaining it.
  16. They are not canon to the anime, movie (the Evas saw a minor redesign for EoE), or Rebuild. I forget who, but a couple folks here noted the similarities to something called "ANIMA." Maybe a special one-off design or something.
  17. Not yet. Apparently it'll be coming to Netflix soon under the name "Last Hope," as in the Last thing in Pandora's Box was Hope.
  18. CnP'ing a CnP from Gundam Eclipse. See, that head looks totally fine now that it's jutting forward again. (EDIT: actually no it still looks funky because now that orange armor is all sorts of wtf)
  19. Oh, the $1 offer was the F-U from the customer. Thanks for the input, everyone. I'll try to keep your recommendation in mind, @renegadeleader1. To clarify, I was offering below the BIN price, which was already priced well below the retail price of the kit, hence the first sentence. Blah, oh well, what's done is done.
  20. Apparently Build Divers is getting a MG Qubeley: http://www.taghobby.com/archives/306734 EDIT: It is based on a Naoki custom. I'm really liking that a bunch of his stuff is getting the Gunpla treatment. Kana for its name reads "Kyu-be-rei da-mu-do." Qubeley Damned? --- On another note, could you all lend some insight? I was negotiating a price with a customer for a kit on Ebay, and after a couple offers, I made one final offer saying, "Item is already a steal at BIN price. Unless you're adamant about the box, you won't find this kit for cheaper. If you are, you'll be best served looking elsewhere. Many thanks." Apparently, the customer thought that was rude and said as much - "It's not polite to be rude to a potential customer" - on their next offer of $0.99. It befuddles me why they would think that, but maybe I'm just not seeing it? Thoughts?
  21. Maybe you confused Episode IX with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3? Otherwise, Solo switched from Lord and Miller to Ron Howard... but I think that's it for recent-ish Disney movie director news.
  22. To be fair, the proportions are only slightly more exaggerated than the Rebuild designs, which were already fairly noticeably different from the original (and dare I say it more iconic) super-skinny designs. The head is almost always hunched forward in the animations (forcibly, by its armor), so you never get a good look at it standing fully erect. The shoulder pylons have been drastically downsized, though, which really disrupts the iconic silhouette. I'm also not a fan of the wrist cuffs; they bring to mind Mari's Eva-08(?), which is... fine, i guess, but certainly not my cup of tea. Its trunk also looks to be one section too long. Notice that the hands are level with the hip joints when they "should" reach to around mid-thigh or the knees.
  23. God, that entire lower half is still so butt ugly.

  25. I've had instances where the item kept moving back and forth between Chicago and my home city, Madison. Sometimes it's just one postal worker (or one postal location) that reads the international label wrong and sends it the wrong way. I've also had cases where a package languished in my local post office for several days/weeks; in those cases, I just went to the post office and asked about it, and eventually they found it waiting wherever it waited and got it to me. If it turns out to be missing/stolen, then... well, I've fortunately never experienced that, so I can't help in that circumstance. I'm sure some of the other folks here would be able to help with that.
