  1. I've been floating that idea since I was a kid, not even as a preference, just a casual thought of "Y'know, it wouldn't surprise me if they went out once upon a time."

    Bandai DX VF-31

Nah, just think of it as a Premium Weathering Finish.
  3. http://www.comingsoon.net/extras/news/946875-doctor-strange-hot-toys-avengers#/slide/5 Not sure if this was already announced. Dr. Strange action figure.
  4. Oh. I had suspicions, but it definitely seemed like there was some time shenanigans afoot narratively. As for the "reasons later", I'm going to take a guess that
  5. Another angle. The shoulders definitely look small, the head definitely too tall.
  6. Just saw DP2, and IW has the better payoff. I'm not nearly as invested in Deadpool as the MCU, so it's an easy distinction to make. That said, seeing this did make me want to rewatch the first one again. This one, not as funny or as engaging as I remember the first one being, but still a super fun time. I don't think there's enough material to keep the franchise going, though. Deadpool was never very interesting by himself - part of why I'm not that interested in these movies in general - and after two films, his "shtick" very quickly gets old. Hell of a supporting cast, though.
  7. Eh, something fading into obscurity is no big thing. Star Wars going the way of the dodo would be just fine by me; just leaves room for something new to take its place. That said, the way that it did evolve, especially with this last movie, have been wholly satisfying, so I'm good either way. I've always thought that that HAS to have happened sometime in the Star Wars canon. But isn't it something like droids are regularly wiped so they don't become too much like a living being? Thus why C3P0 (Zero? Oh?) and R2D2 are such oddities, because they've gone for so long without being "factory reset," as it were?
  8. Seems to me it's a bit too tall. Shoulders also look off, but it could just be the angle. Either way, it still doesn't look bad.

    Bandai DX VF-31

Not just later Valkyries. The VF-0 is I believe the largest "good guy" VF. The VF-1 is just an odd duck all around.
  10. http://jungle-scs.co.jp/sale_en/?page_id=75 SEALED item:Item new in sealed box. “A grade item”: Used item in a near mint-condition. “B grade item”:The item has been removed from packaging and displayed in a show case. --- I've only bought from them once, and I didn't bother checking the state of the item (turned out to be sealed). Anyway, if you're willing to build it yourself, the Bandai hobby division is selling an entire Exia + Avalanche + Dash parts set for ~$75 before shipping. Cheapest I've found in the US is at USA Gundam Store, where retail price is $76.99, and shipping looks to be really cheap, and there's a 10% off coupon (ZakuAurelius10). Food for thought. https://www.usagundamstore.com/collections/new/products/pre-order-mg-1-100-gundam-avalanche-exia-dash
  11. ^Same. I keep hoping one day Hasegawa will announce a kit... or even Wave, at this point and with what they managed to accomplish with the VF-4. Have at it, @Urashiman, that's what I made it for. (edit: Oh, you'll need to be able to print white for the white stripes, etc. You can probably get them done by a third party like Samueldecal.) I'm just disappointed I still haven't turned them into vector art yet for easy scaling.
  12. Am I so beautiful that you've no words left? https://www.destructoid.com/first-4-figures-is-making-an-awesome-and-expensive-true-midna-statue-502634.phtml
  13. I don't, thank God, because (I'm never gonna pass up an opportunity :D)
  14. Is it common for a Metal Build Strike Freedom to go for ~$550? That seems... kind of ludicrous. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/q210276644
  15. Nice review. I've a few of these lying around the house, in various states of doneness. One thing to add: The NUNS logo on sticker 3 is backwards; they simply mirrored the stickers during the design phase. Here's my "decal" version of the stickers (to be printed on decal paper), with the orientation corrected.
  16. Hm... BBTS and USA Gundam Store don't have any pages up yet; how do they gauge how many orders they'll accept? Wouldn't opening up later run the risk of not getting enough orders in before the preorder window closes? Granted, I'm sure Bandai will do second and third waves of production on most Gundam preorders, but still, there's a risk they might not... NY's price for the Ground Gundam adds about 500 yen over MSRP per kit. Dunno about shipping. From Japan adds a flat 540 yen domestic shipping fee to an entire order (which will be combined with the international shipping). Seems to be the best option at the moment; I'll go with that and get back to you all on how it goes.
  17. Anyone know of any US stores taking P-Bandai preorders? The only one I know that's taking preorders for the Ground Gundam Parachute Pack Ver. is Tatsu Hobby: http://tatsuhobby.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34&products_id=2323 I don't see any takers for the Polypod Ball, either. (Since there was no P-Bandai page last time I checked, I'm guessing it's not open for preorders just yet.)

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

The promo pics suggest they've changed the heel parts as well, for the worse.
  19. Can anyone tell where the Polypod Ball's spider legs come from? (By the by, it's from a Build Divers side story.) I suspect that much of the frame and armor must be parts from other kits. The armor must be knee or shoulder parts, and the frame... maybe some backpack wing joints? Otherwise if they are indeed completely new parts, then that would probably be the largest new-to-reused parts ratio I've ever seen in a P-Bandai kit.
  20. Actually, the Super and Armored packs both appeared in the first episode of Frontier. Ozma Lee's VF-25S had the Armored Pack, and what would eventually become Alto's VF-25F had a Super Pack. Throughout the series, the VF-25S would almost always be depicted with Armored equipment, and the VF-25F would switch between the two. The VF-25G and RVF-25 I believe only ever used Super Packs, and even then they more often flew without anything at all. The Tornado Pack was introduced in the first Frontier movie, The False Songstress. It's equipped by Alto's VF-25F in the final battle of the film. It would make another appearance in the second movie, The Wings of Goodbye, equipped on the VF-25G. SMS used the data gained from it to develop the YF-29, which would be Alto's final ride in the film.
