MAX is well known for their excellent drama series but their non-DC sci-fi line up is lacking.
-
Looks more like TRON: Uprising which is a good thing.

Just finished SCAVENGERS REIGN on Max. One of the best sci-fi animated series I've watched in a very long time. Doubt there will be a second season tho.

I read Count Zero and Burning Chrome back in the late 1980s but never finished Neuromancer. By the time I started reading it 20 years ago I was becoming jaded with most sci-fi books because reality was already turning into a cyberpunk dystopia.

Oh jeez. This could be really good, lol.

ZING!

I absolutely loved the original film. It was peak 1990s goth and had a huge influence with its style and music in the scene back then. I think if they ever did make a reboot it should be made in black & white to look like the graphic novel. I don't have much hope with this new film though.

All Things Videogame Related: EXTREME VS!!
TangledThorns replied to Keith's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Do people still play Battlefront? Battlefront 2's population was kinda low when I played it years ago. I spent more time in queue for the space combat matches than in the actual match itself. WTF?- 6654 replies

It's like a re-skinned Guardians of The Galaxy. I'll probably catch it on streaming tho.

My biggest takeaway was Nolan admitting that Her Majesty's Secret Service is his favorite James Bond film 🤯

I recall they were planning on that during my family's trip to WDW back in 2022 and my son LOVED Splash Mountain too. Probably one of the easier renovations they ever did since it remains a southern themed ride.

On a side note its great to see Matthew Macfayden getting more recognition thanks to his excellent work in Succession. I highly recommend seeing him in Ripper Street series if you hadn't seen it yet.- 99 replies

I'm hoping we get to see Kurt Russell in it as a cameo or more.

Yeah and its getting kinda old. It's like they're trying to gain nerd cred by casting Pedro Pascal. Pedro is a fine actor but maybe they should look for some new faces??

Finished the 7th season of Rick & Morty on MAX. It has its moments and while they did a decent job of replacing Justin Roiland's voice this was the weakest season. I'd be surprised if they make it to season 10 as planned.

MCU needs to go anti-MCU to save it. DP&W and Thunderbolts could be a good start.- 99 replies

The FROZEN flashbacks was overused in too many scenes imho. Most successful sequels have little to no flashbacks. Reference sure, but no flashbacks. Jury is still out for The Rock in a live action Moana but is that a good idea at this point? Seems kinda redundant with another animated movie coming out so soon.
-
My main complaint with FROZEN 2 is that it was too heavy on nostalgia/flash backs from the first movie which to me is lazy and didn't feel fresh. I'm hoping Moana 2 can learn from this. Shame that can't be more original with the title too. I think adding Maori language to the title would have been more fitting, they use Maori for the songs ffs. MOANA: Tangata Whenua (people of the land) for example. On a side note I'm not a fan of The Rock as an on screen actor but do enjoy his voice work in animation, looovvee "You're Welcome" so my expectations will be high for the sequel's music and songs too.

I have yet to see a Disney animated sequel that is better than the first. Ralph Breaks The Internet was equal to the first movie imho. Most sequel titles with just a number only don't ever seem to be an improvement over the original and comes across as lazy. Maybe I'm wrong but I can't think of one. Hence why I'm sure many are skeptical. edit: Toy Story 2, 3, etc all seem to be better than the original.
