  1. Gladiator 2 is on Paramount+. Just finished watching it and I'm glad I didn't pay to see it in the theater. Yeah, such a terrible money grab. Ridley Scott is not ending his career in style it seems.
  2. What kind of SSD? 2,5in or NVME? This video has a great explanation on building a PC and the parts that go into it. As an experienced builder I found it interesting too. My 7 year old ADATA 1Tb Gen3x4 NVME M.2 is still doing great but I plan on buying a Western Digital Black Gen 4 NVME M.2 for my next build. 2Tb for OS/games/programs and maybe a 4Tb for media that may need processing. Game files are getting HUGE at 100Gb or more so having drive space will be needed. You may want to consider a fresh install with Windows 11 if your hardware supports it as Windows 10 support ends this October. If you have a fast PC and Internet connection then it shouldn't feel it takes a long time to reinstall all your programs. This is why I'm building a complete new PC this year as I'd rather not spend money on a new OS for an aging system. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/products/windows-10-home-and-pro
  3. There are series that sounded dumb on paper but turned out to be excellent and well appreciated after they were released. Could this be one of those series? We shall see.
  4. oh look, another teaser 😑
  5. Interesting about the 32Gb sized memory recommendations for DOOM. I like to stay ahead when it comes to memory size so it looks like I'm going with 64Gb for my new PC build this. Thankfully its not as expensive as I thought it would be.
  6. Yeah... RIP to the schmucks's wallets that buy a 5090. I'm more interested in the 5080 since that's what I'm looking to buy in my new complete build. My current rig has a RTX2060 and I really want to try playing new games in 4K.
  7. No surprise on the nVidia card prices. I'm sure there will be initial gouging but this isn't 2022 anymore so it shouldn't last I bet.
  8. I was checking my emails from Netflix that I hadn't deleted going as far back as 2010 😅 2010: 2 DVDs out at-a-time (Unlimited) plan at $13.99 2011: Unlimited Streaming (no DVDs) for $7.99 a month 2020: Basic plan $8.99 <- this was before ads plan So in five years time Netflix's basic plan (no ads) subscription has doubled in price. F Netflix 🤬
  9. Yep yep on both! I expect a MAX/HULU/Disney+ bundle price increase this year, ugh. We shall see with Paramount+ however I read rumors that they may partner with Apple+ which may be a good idea. I'll get a month or two's Netflix subscription when new seasons of shows we want to see are added, namely Stranger Things, and binge through them then cancel again.
  10. We were just discussing streaming rates here but now its gonna be $19/month for Netflix?! F that 🤬 I get way more value with the MAX/HULU/Disney+ bundle for $30/month. Netflix to hike prices on standard and ad-supported streaming plans https://www.cnbc.com/2025/01/21/netflix-raises-prices.html
  11. Yeah, David Lynch should have embraced his DUNE. It has more character in style and acting than the remake. Plus it had a great soundtrack and was more meme worthy too. I appreciate and enjoy the past and new DUNE films for the era of film art that they are.
  12. Yeah but K2SO doesn't have a cute little critter living in one of its "aye" sockets. Aye?
  13. I'm hoping we get to see more of SM-33 at least in one of the other planned series or movies.
  14. I'm sure most here know David Lynch was approached to direct Return of the Jedi but turned it down for DUNE (1984). Man, that would have been interesting to see. Still, I liked DUNE (1984) for its David Lynch weirdness.
  15. Finished the last episode and it didn't give me confidence there will be a second season. Definitely deserved more for a finale. Oh well. At least we have the second season of Andor coming soon. Hope it doesn't suck. lol.
  16. I'm glad I'm taking my time on my PC build. I've been out of touch for several years and finding all kinds of new gear. Lian Li wasn't that big of brand back then but it looks like they are leading innovation in PC cases and I just come across their Edge power supply. And it has a USB hub?? Wild and will most likely be in my planned build. https://lian-li.com/product/edge/
  17. Severance is great but there wasn't enough content on Apple+ to keep me from ending my subscription.
  18. Here is a video comparing PhysX on and off. I first played Arkham Knight on a AMD 280X (R9 3Gb VRAM) and then again on a nVidia GTX 1060 (6Gb VRAM) and the difference with PhysX enabled was amazing!
  19. I'd like to get a AMD GPU but... I like to occasionally replay Arkham Knight and it has PhysX that only nVidia GPUs supports still. Can't find any worthwhile mod or workaround (nah on dual AMD/nVidia GPU set-up) so I hope an official remaster with ray tracing will resolve it so physics can work on a AMD GPU.
  20. Aw, man. Wild at Heart is one of my favorite films. This is a snakeskin jacket! And for me it's a symbol of my individuality, and my belief... in personal freedom.
  21. Half-way through this series. It's a cute pirate adventure in the Star Wars galaxy and imho SM-33 is the best new Star Wars character in a long time. Give whoever created SM-33 a promotion and a raise! It's good that Disney took this kind of risk too, it needs more outside the box thinking for Star Wars. That being said my young children still have no interest in Star Wars, lol.
  22. We have a Microcenter about 45 minutes from where I live and hope they have good deals. I'd prefer not to order parts from different stores due to delivery time and possible return issues. I'll definitely buy my 4K monitor at Microcenter though. Makes returning a monitor with dead pixels much easier which happened to me several years ago with a Acer Predator monitor.
  23. Doing research into pre-built or custom PCs and it's more pricey and less custom than I'm used to when it comes to building my own PCs in the past, ugh. So now I'm looking at building a PC sometime around Memorial Day weekend hoping there will be good PC parts deals by then. I mentioned lack of time and space before so I'm thinking I'll take a week off from work and build the PC... at my office, lol. Most of my colleagues work from home (myself included) and hardly anybody goes into the office so that gives me plenty of space and peace to build a PC. Funny enough I built my last PC in my office in 2018, upgrade in 2019, when we all used to go in regularly and no one mind back then too. One thing I plan to skip on this time around is RBG crap. It's the most useless thing ever when it comes to PC gaming.
