If you have MAX there is a 3 1/2 hr long WATCHMEN ultimate edition that includes the animated Tales of the Black Freighter scenes however it's hidden as an extra with the original film. Worth a watch(men).

Re-watching Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) on PRIME. Still a classic and one of the best remakes ever. Also, it was peak curly haired Sutherland too!

Science and Technology MEGA THREAD

Pretty sure its for our new robot overlords. -
Didn't think how multi-generational Donald Sutherland was. I remember Donald best from his older 1960s to 1970s films while my younger wife remembers him mostly from The Hunger Games.

Andor (Star Wars: Andor) - Disney+
TangledThorns replied to sh9000's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Oh look, a reason to restart my subscription to Disney+. Finally! I'll have to re-watch the first season too. I think I read a rumor that the series could spin-off into a Mon Mothma focused post Rogue One series which I think could be great too. -

How many teasers do we get before the trailer? lol That being said we'll check it out of course. Do recommend watching GOTHAM if you hadn't seen it yet. Robin Lord Taylor's Penguin is my most favorite yet!

More details below too. I'm just hoping it's funny as I can't recall watching a comedy in the theater that had me laughing tbh. The Acolyte - Disney Plus Star Wars Series
TangledThorns replied to jvmacross's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Observation: I still don't have Disney+ but I have never seen a thread on a series this heavily analyzed here on this forum before. Question: Is that good or bad? lol -

Yeah, that was Jennifer Grey level of plastic surgery ☹️ Unless you're disfigured I don't understand why people do that. My wife has always been beautiful but she hated her nose and got surgery to reduce it's size. Still don't understand why but oh well.

Season 5 will be last but wouldn't surprised if we see another spin-off. GenV was pretty good. Good to know however Disney+ has been setting a low bar, that keeps getting lower.

It'd be nice if Star Wars animated series looked this good!!

The computer and electronics super geek thread
TangledThorns replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Smart buying it at a store. When I bought my monitor it had several dead pixels so I was able to exchange at the store that I locally bought it from. Though the store was 45 minutes from my house it was a lot easier to deal with than shipping it back to a retailer. -

It does sound like a huge upgrade, probably need more graphics power to get the most out of it too. Having a higher refresh rate in nice. I'm running an older ACER Predator 16:9 1080p 240Hz monitor and still looks good though it'd be nice to have HDR though. -

Enjoyed THE THING game from 2002 and I hope the remaster is good enough for a new purchase. On a side note I didn't know it was that long ago... omfg.- 7067 replies

The Alien/Predator/Aliens vs. Predator Thread
TangledThorns replied to VT 1010's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Looks to borrow from ALIEN, ALIENS, and Isolation. Hopefully it can stand on its own. EDIT: Showed my wife the trailer and she has no interest in seeing it. GIrls in my past relationships never care or liked any of the ALIEN films either even though it has strong female characters. What gives? lol -
Godzilla Minus One - November 3rd 2023
TangledThorns replied to mikeszekely's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
G-1 had some SFX issues if looked at it close however the Hollywood references above were blindingly bad. If you can't do it right then don't do it all.
