Star Trek Into Darkness, in theaters May 17, 2013
Keith replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Considering the original TV engineering section was kind of nebulous in its look, I'd have hoped they'd go with the ST:TMP style engineering room, but oh well, even the new BSG's engine room looked like a steam engine.- 1020 replies

And churned out MW games and Artdinks Macross games have the same number of programmers working on them of course... uh huh. Let's look at it another way, "Ace" was the testbed to see if the Macross series would be popular enough to spin-off the Gundam Battle series, and of course it was (in fact looks like it took over as the primary for now). What was present in Ace was pretty meaty, but obviously not quite finished. Same thing happened when Battle Tactics came out. I don't know what kind of budget the dev team gets, but they've obviously taken the "spend what we've got here, spend more to add on in the next game" mold. If you follow through from Tactics-Royal-Chronicle-Universe-Assault Survive, that's just what they've done. The release slowdown comes when they take time to beef up their renders. Ace essentially used the "Universe" version of the Gundam Battle engine. "Ultimate" customized it into it's own Macross varient, refining the melee, specials, pilot skills, and overall handling. "Triangle" took the opportunity to add in a lot of graphics engines tweaks (zooming in on ships as you get near them to make them appear even bigger was the biggest & most novel so far). Do you think it's a coincidence that Gundam skipped 2 years of release, and even then U.C. is being passed over in lieu of C.E.? Yeah, it's SEED's 10th, and that's definately got somethin' to do with it, but fact is it would take a lot more time to do the extensive list of U.C. MS than it would to do the more bite sized (but still extensive) C.E. MS. You can see this same thinking going into the Hybrid Pack releases. "Trial" setup the HD version of the engine, "Last" refined it back into a full playable "Ultimate" version with newer graphics, and "Watashi no Kare Wa" is expanding it into the original Macross set of Valkyries. I know your pessimism won't let you think anything but the most money grubbing worst about these releases, but I've yet to see Artdink integrate Bamco's regular DLC model into their games, and as of yet, GSBD has yet to announce any. Only time will tell, we'll either get a Macross Plus/7 hybrid pack release next year, or we'll get a full Vita/PS3 game. Btu all I kow is so far, there's been no attempt at DLC cash-ins, and the price of admission for these games has been free, as the movies themselves have been standard Japanese movie retail prices (yup, they and the LE's are usually that expensive).

They can eject teh warp core/cores without ejecting the whole engineering room. Besides, looked like they got things back up & running for the last scene.- 1020 replies

Shatner sure doesn't have good luck with bridges does he? As for the new movie, I've yet to hear the thing I most want to hear. "Engineering refit."- 1020 replies

We shall see. Considering that they did Yamato 2199 without Matsumoto, it may not make all that much difference.
-
But a version of "The First" easily could be.
-
I don't know how anyone can watch that Pachinko version of the intro and not want to see the series re-animated.
-
I don't see that as a conflict either. Considering both had been gone for quite a while, it's perfectly reasonable that Lion-o & Tigra would have little/no reccolection of some old dudes they knew once.

Even scaled down, perfect memory is freakin' huge. I'm guessing it's going to fit in sideways, with everything else slapped in the remaining space? Wonder if they'll include a regular sized bluray box to hold the individual disc cases.

Even I'm curious about where you got that mini Mega Drive.

I'm gonna have to declaire Shennanigoats on the MII Game canon then, as it ignores something far to blatant to be wrong.

Macross Dynamite 7, 15th Anniversary Campaign Announced
Keith replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
It's the 18th, Macross 7 came out in '94 -
Yup, there were 2 background themes, a Sheryl & Ranka one.
-
But Kamjin "died" in DYRL. And assumedly, if the Booby Trap happened like it did in the TV series, then it would have also been resolved in the TV series, i.e. the crew repaired the damage & sorted out the computer conflicts that caused all the havoc (Global Report).

I hope they wait a bit on the BD release, I really want to be able to afford it... -
Unfortunately youtube has been watchdogging episode posting again, so I haven't been able to see past episode one. Hopefully someone will license & or stream the series officially before I can afford the import BD's.

Ok, I know what mission you're talking about now. You can't avoid Roy getting shot down at the end (it's just what happens in the story), but make sure to survive with as much HP as you can, and do "not" use up any SP, you'll need it for the Max portion. A good trick for making sure you build up max SP is to target the turrets on the Zentradi ship, just hold the target button and down on the cross pad to switch it to weaker target lock, and take out every turret on that thing before destroying it. I "believe" you're stuck using "Max Time" as your double pilot SP attack on that mission, so here's what you do. As soon as the max part starts, get as close to Milia as you can, and initiate the pilot SP attack (forget the exact button combo, but it's not the individual Valkyrie attack, it's the one tied to your chosen pilot), this will freeze her in her tracks. Immediately switch to battroid, and melee the hell out of her. You should have enough time to take her out proper. Once the tme freeze is over, switch back to fighter and pull the hell up, Milia has a wingman somewhere around. Try to missile her to death, but if you have an SP bar after taking out Milia, use the Valkyrie SP on her, should finish off the misison for you and get you the SS rank.

The Transformers Thread (licensed) Next

They couldn't figure out how to have more allspark shards bring dinosaur robots to life? Or perhaps have them originally made by "The Fallen" on his first trip to Earth? Would have been tons of simple ways to pull it off, especially since they already had the nonsensicle "Ravage" design.- 17380 replies

I wonder if last week's episode was an attempt at pulling a B5 4th season "here's what happens later in case we don't get our last season." Regardless, I think they should be able to pull off a decent end to this show without going all X-File FUBAR at the end. I'm actually glad they've decided to wrap it up, as the dual universe story can only go so far, especially considering they've already re-written the primary timeline.
