For me, be a SAHD was very rewarding & also frustrating. Money was tight, we were in a new podunk town with few resources, no friends. Being a slave to the nap schedule. However, I developed a very deep and great relationship with my daughter over those first 2 years - despite my cluelessness. Something that I feel has been waning with the addition of her brother and her transition to school age. Now I work, and things are more comfortable, but I miss it sometimes. I only get to see my son for an hour a day before he goes to bed, and seem to be in a constant battle with a five-teen year old girl. And paying $1200/month for daycare sucks... As for Gunpla, I've finally finished assembling my RG. I might need to add a little glue, b/c a few panels keep popping off. And he's got a bit of a lazy misaligned eye sticker... All-in-all, I think it's great and had a blast building it over lunches. Hopefully I'll get it stickered up over the next few days and be done. edit - paying for daycare sucks, the place is great.

We agree on a lot of shows & movies, but anime's not really her thing - unless it's Ghibli. So while I might watch one ep at a time, here & there normally; I will be looking forward to having the TV all to myself. I used to PC game while she was away, I recall several late nights of KOTOR way back when. But that was when my system was new and before kids! I kinda like the opening song. Macross & SBY Yamato always come across as a little quaint to me.

I've only got the head left to build on my RG RX-78-2, then adding the stickers. I thought this would be too small, but I love it!

Saw it last night, loved it. I have some issues with it, but it blew the last 2 films out of the water. I'll admit that I cheered loudly at the end.

I'm holding out. Still working on Clone Wars, and only on the 3rd Ep of Rebels with the kid.

Looks like you can either use the standard astromech or our new buddy BB-8. Very nice poster, less than 6 months to go!

WIthout cable, season 5 has been problematic. I've figured out how to watch it on my iphone, but not to shunt it to the TV. Thus, my daughter & I haven't seen any of it yet. And her being a little something something lately has given me little incentive to try.

Yep, I officially hate these little foil stickers... Don't have a gold sharpie, so I guess I'll be going silver... I might follow up with an orange marker, if I can find one.

So I've made progress on my Real Grade 78-2, and I gotta say , this thing is pretty awesome. I'm already eyeing the Zaku as my next kit. Honestly, I'm not as bothered by the size as I'd thought I'd be. And comparing the photos of the MG vs RG MkII Titans leaves the MG wanting. I may be coming around to 1/144 scale, after all. Perhaps I should try a HG kit next, to see if I'm satisfied with the detail.

So it's been a while since I've done this, and I usually paint. Working on the RG, I've gotten up to the torso. And I gotta say, I did a pretty piss-poor job of cutting the blue. For those of you that just build & panel-line, what techniques do you use to trim down the nibs? Fortunately, these ugly spots should be covered up by the shoulder armor most of the time.

More disaster porn, from the originators of modern disaster porn! Watch as LA, New York & Wash.... oh, crap, we did those already... Watch as Chicago, Paris & London... Hmm, those were destroyed off screen in the first one, too... Watch as 3rd tier population centers, such as Denver, Toronto & Oklahoma City are demolished by badder aliens with bigger ships and lazers! More flag waving than the first ID4, or even Transformers4!- 277 replies

Well, I've got both feet and a leg of my RG 78 done. I'm keeping it simple, since I'm building this at my desk during lunch. No paint, just using a pencil to panel line. So far, I'm having some issues with gate marks. I guess I'm just used to painting over these. I'm snipping with side cutters, then following up with a fresh Xacto blade. Slicing, not chopping. Still, I get the little white stress lines. I also almost broke the leg frame at the shin, as the knee joints war so tight.

I loved the last one, but I've since gained a full time job & another kid. I don't think I could swing this again. Took me over a year to play Mass Effect 3...

On the plus side, the appearance of this news may trigger my wife's first viewing of BTiLC. It's the plan for the weekend. Hopefully everything works out.

"Awww, what the hell??!!" As much as I hate this idea - to be fair, the Rock is pretty much the best 80's action hero of the 2010's.
