The mg 3.0 looks more like my speed - same level of detail, but a better size. OTOH, I am still considering the RG b/c it'd be easy to actually finish without painting or taking a lot of time. It would be nice to actually finish something...

Vader looks like heading a dance crew about to serve someone.

Almost ordered an RG 78. But then I really realized that it was <5" tall. I think 1/144 is just too small for me.

Robinson Crusoe on Mars? Mars movies, man... Maybe this one will break the trend.

To me, it always came down to which toys looked cooler. Therefore, Empire & Fett all the way. Even my good guys were commonly "under cover in Imperial disguise," so I could have my Biker Scout fly a Y-wing. Character-wise, Fett is meh. He was a pretty blank slate, but he was the main "face" of the independent element of SW for a long time. At least, without being a slobbery monster. As for the prequels, I liked that he was cast as a pacific islander. I don't mind the NZ accent, or the redub in the SE. And he is kinda badass for a 10 year old. Even more so in CW. But he felt shoehorned into the plot of AOTC. And man... how lonely is Jango? Or self-absorbed? Both?

Avengers: Age of Ultron, in theaters May 1, 2015
Kelsain replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I wondered that, too! My bet is on a TV somewhere, or in the "data stream" visuals. "He's fast and she's weird." Like, say, turning a couple Hydra missiles into a bowl of petunias and a sperm whale.- 398 replies

Bandai to release Star Wars Model kits
Kelsain replied to Wiz13688's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm interested to see what the part & color separations will look like on a Bandai Y-wing.- 188 replies

Granted, it WILL be more expensive. But so much better.

Excited. Honestly, I'm not that concerned with landing gear - this thing deserves to be mounted in flight! Question for you, though: Would you be interested in scaling the production model to 1/72, when you're finished? As nice as the Arcadia YF-19 is, it's way out my range. I think that Hasegawa will be representing the 19 & 21 in my collection.
-
That Glaug looks loverly! This may influence my decision to stick with MG gundams, as well. I'm trying to limit the scales I collect, and I like crossover displays. Ie: the AMT Star Destroyer is close enough for me to display alongside the IMAI Macross. Hasegawa Valks will reside with my Valley Gunship & F-4U Corsair.

Hmm, yeah, I've never seen a super hero crouch dramatically before. Looks like a done deal! </snark> Uh-oh, better watch out Radix, Harmony Gold's gonna sue you for ripping off the Q-rau design. And Radix? What is this, 1992? In other news, can't wait for Friday, 8pm!- 398 replies

Just gave me flashbacks: We had just moved from the West side of Chicago to the 'burbs on the day Battle for Endor was broadcast. I was 8. I remember my brother and I frantically trying to help Dad get the TV and VCR unpacked and hooked up on the floor, screwing in the RF adapter and messing with the antennae. Finding a Betamax tape to put it on. Once everything was finally set, we discovered that we had the wrong time, and had missed the first hour of it! Damn you, "8/7 Central & Mountain!" I was devastated. Pretty sure I cried. To this day, I'm not sure I've ever seen the whole movie...

Well, but that was really just an Imperial trap. What if the crew were tasked to work alongside another cell that wasn't concerned with civilians? History is full of examples of people who are fighting for just causes, using despicable methods. It would be interesting to see this side of the Rebellion as well, perhaps as something that needs to be reined in before it can become a true Alliance.
-
You know what would be cool? Exploring the actions of some of the other Rebel cells. I know they're the good guys, but in CW, they explored the fact that not all Republic leaders were good and not all Seperatist leaders were bad. How would the Ghost crew respond to another cell that justified true terrorism? Although that's probably a little heavy for this show.

No, everything moving forward is now canon. Including all novels & comics. They've got a "story group" that handles the overall chain of events and prevents discontinuties. It's a good idea, in theory, and relatively easy to keep things untangled so far. We'll see how it goes over time.

I'm still on S4 of clone wars, so I haven't seen what they do with Bane on the show. All I do know is that Hamill does his voice. Speaking of Hamill, I've seen a few ideas that Luke is evil bc he's wearing a black robe in the trailer. Making the safe assumption that is Luke with R2, notice that he has a white sleeve. Much like his black tunic with white lining in ROTJ. This could be coincidence, or a reference to Ep6 - where he might go bad, or be indicative of balance. I'm sure there are spoilers out there that address this, but I don't want them.

Two with in the galaxy. (in theory) In the Old Republic days, the Sith Empire had grown large. But with so many power hungry Sith lords running around, it began to crumble due to infighting. Eventually the Jedi were able to prevail over the fractured empire, and Darth Bane created the rule of 2, to keep the Sith focused. It preserved the power struggle, but in a microcosm that would hopefully go unnoticed to the Jedi. THus, they could play the long game of plotting revenge (which is best served cold, after all). Once he feels he's getting strong enough, the Apprentice takes on an apprentice himself, with the goal of overthrowing the master and becoming a new pair of Sith. Sidious is training Maul when he offs Plaugeus. Maul "dies," so Sidious takes Dooku (Tyranus) as his apprentice, but has his eye on Anakin to replace him Tyranus takes on Ventress and later Savage Opress, planning to overthrow Sidious Maul & Opress try & fail to supplant Sidious & Tyranus as the Sith pair Sidious eventually has Anakin kill Tyranus, then takes him as an apprentice (Vader) Vader tries to take Luke as his apprentice, with the goal of killing Sidious Sidious wanted to replace Vader with Luke (and was not coy about it) In your example, if you want to be a Sith, you've got to make yourself more valuable to Sidious Either kill Vader, expose his weaknesses, or just show your greater power.
