From the HLJ description, I get the impression that it's based on the movie kit with a few new runners of TV parts. Yep, confirmed that from Hasegawa's website.

All three qualified for HLJ's free accessory bundles too, so I wonder what they packed in. I'll need to dig out the bits box with the leftovers from my early 2000's phase of gunpla & get my kitbash on!

Yeah, I just lost one set from the right elbow. The other one seems to be doing fine at this point. I've got some Citadel copper somewhere downstairs. I'll probably just bust that out and repaint them as the stickers fall off.

Well, I suppose it fits with the 5 pt articulation... Is it so hard to make stuff look like it should? I know the movie's kind of old school, but the toys too? I think I'm gonna limit myself to 6" black series... -

I did end up glueing the shoulder sections together & parts of the feet. But hey, first model I've finished since the Regult 4 years ago! I'm probably going to pick up an rg zaku to square off with the 78. And I'll likely trade my mg MkII for the rg version as well. I'll have practice nub cleanup before I do that one, though. That blue will be a pita. Or I'll just have to paint it.

Finally finished my rg today! Just a straight build, but I think he's great! And whaddaya know, I do like the scale. As such, I've ordered 3 hgs & some accessories to kit bash, all for the price of 1 mg. hopefully that'll be just as fun. (Edit) stupid sideways pic, fixed.

Very well done! While I won't be getting one, due to time & budget restraints, it looks great, and I'm excited for those who'll buy. Having said that, is there any chance you'd offer the pilots on their own? Do they fit in the standard VF-1 cockpit?

How did you extract the 3d models? I have the mod, but am still very new to these things. My 3d modeling skills also leave much to be desired. Ultimately, I'd like to have a set of 1/5000 armds to put on my imai sdf-1.

Hmm, one difference I notice is in the placement of the head lasers. On the sketches and the models Valhary posted, it looks like the "hat" covers the lasers, preventing them from rotating upward & making it a little more streamlined. Your design has them sticking out past the hat, so that they can rotate.

Two-hundred lander? A nice little poke at things like Tak3n & Fant4stic. I still think the original is great, and doesn't need a sequel, but I'm also curious to see what they do...

Though I haven't really watched it, Build Fighters had made things like this more acceptable & appealing to me.
