Though convenient, I believe it's an abandoned city... Can't remember if it's because of sheryl or some other reason.

It was just a thought, not an official product announcement, and will likely never be made. Sorry, that was on my phone so I kept it brief. Welcome to the boards. Wish they were making that Roy GBP, they've done crazier things, but it seems unlikely.

They'll probably go the same direction as KitzConcept and just throw both names on the box.

Same here... but it seems likely to happen given a couple more DYRL releases. We're bound to see a DX VF-1A Max and Hikaru some time soon, maybe a 1S Roy DYRL and, dare we dream, a 1S Max? Any couple of those will likely trigger a SSP reissue at the way Bandai is going and how well the parts have been selling.

The last update was that they were going to do super VF-1 models next but it's pending license renewal. I'm afraid a 1D with revisions to the mold is pretty unlikely.

He specifically calls out "the reissue YF-29" which would imply that the first release YF-29 was the original... but that makes no sense because the complaints seem to contrast the YF-29 with a different vehicle entirely, presumably the VF-1. Had the "Behold" been followed by a picture of a VF-1, it sure would have helped. @twich, I'm working on it now.

I don't think wonder festival happened, at least not in the traditional sense.

On the b25 front... At least the display stand seems like a notable improvement.

2023??? We gotta wait three years for a Tread??? Man, maybe we get Houqet in bike and plane next year, then the green Legioss in 2022... and 2023 we finally get a Tread. Boy... that's a stretched out timeline!

It should peg into the display stand really solid.
-
Maybe they could do it as a subscription item. They could also make it bigger that way...
-
The official measurements might be late game calculations. Like, the team had sizes in mind for the crafts, then the script was tweaked to make the Legioss more central to the plot line. Now the gang needs to be able to hide the jet under shrubs and float it on a raft instead of just blowing a new one up every other episode. So at that point, the creators are like "we should make it really small" and revise the dimensions down. Either that note doesn't go to the animators or the animators just went with what looked cool. The story does make more sense if the Legioss is tiny... though some things still remain pretty outlandish.

Bandai also uses hot sellers as carrots to retailers so they keep them limited to incentivize retailers to do what they want. So Bandai can say "You can order X of our premium line if you carry A of this line, B of that line, and C of another line." If the hot sellers were easy for retailers to get a lot of, there would be less incentive for retailers to carry those only 'warm' lines of toys. In general though, you always want to produce just a little less than the demand... it's much better to have consumers demanding you make more than it is to have your retailers bargain binning your products.

Is this a reissue? Looks familiar.

That's probably a partsformer in some capacity, maybe even a parts swapper... Certainly doesn't have integrated gimmicks. Not an even playing field for the dx.

Get ready for Hi Metal 3! The line continues elsewhere, hopefully it's just an intermission while they go ham on Votoms and Dougram.

Who had supers in the show is oddly irrelevant, Yamato sold Hikaru VF-1J with supers and it wasn't an issue for most even though that's never in the show. So yeah, deck out the whole Vermillion team... why not?

I feel like the GBP thread is so buried I'll never find it so I'll just put this here: And per the conversation on the prior thread, I also snapped some comparison pics...

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
jenius replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
If that's the battroid mode head... you really have to wonder what all that kibble is behind it. There appears to be gribbles of some kind going up well above it. -
Don't forget the VF-1J Max and Hikaru 1J DX toys, those will get made. The repaint GBPs are probably just for funsies.
-
The problem with including a replacement head is that the hue might not be a perfect match. Yamato had that issue with their first GBP when they threw new heads on old stock. They should make it so it can be a clip on part... But that boat probably already sailed.

Probably just as fast... The scalpers are onto this line.
