You will only notice the entire "Glowing head" feature on Rick's and Roy's heads (white plastic).

here's my current set-up. there's a window not too far away so I try to keep it dark. You also can't really see the sides or back of the display cases (other than by looking through the display case) so it doesn't look to garish with the cardboard as it is now. I'm just looking for something clever to put over the cardboard... I really want to set each shelf up with its own little motif so images I can create to a specific size seem the way to go... (sorry, it's an old pic so you may have seen it before)

Me thinks you're only of that opinion because there's no light in your Yamato to show you how thin that plastic really is...

Yeah, the Alphas are sweet, the poseables are cheap and not bad, the bookends are a matter of taste but they're pretty easy on the eyes, the boxes are stellar, the fastpacks are pretty nice and highly detailed (just don't shake 'em since they're magnet based) and the hands on the Valks are superior to Yamato's (even the Yammie 1/48 effort). As always the thread boils down to the fact the 1/48s are the best Valks EVER.

Okay folks, I have the Detolf (or whoever they are) display cases from IKEA. Yeah, they're tiny and all that jive but they're all I've got for now. Anyway, I've constructed a cardboard barrier to protect my toys inside from sunlight. It works great and you can't really see it unless you're looking in at my toys. My original idea was just to paint the cardboard black for a solid backdrop but now that seems lame. Does anyone have any suggestions for spicing up my backdrop? Is it possible to take DVDs to a place like Kinko and have them enlarge the cover art images to specific sizes? I was thinking something like that might work... What have you guys done?

I picked up the entire poseable line for $19.99 and I think that, at that price, they were well worth it. You can definitely get some good posing out of them and they don't really look "chubby". While they definitely may not be "line art" perfect they sure fit the anime well (but I'm sure you're all aware how far anime tends to sway from line art).

Is it just me or does it look like Janice's breasts may be HUGE? Robotech might just feature a tentacle scene this time around....

it's also gonna cost you to have that thing shipped from across the seas... That's always been my biggest gripe with the 1/48s. The prices themselves are steep but acceptable, then you add another $30-$40 just to get it to your door. They should set up a service so that when the postal worker comes with your package he also kicks you in the balls for free. All that being said, and also owning both, the 1/48 is the hands down winner. Graham and others are spot-on with their critiques.

So what exactly does this mean? I assume this is primarily just for the Japanese market since absolutely nothing is different from the RT stuff except for the packaging.

Let's not forget that this is the bookends for the ALPHA MPCs. Having two Cyclones as your bookends would just be wrong wouldn't it? The Cyclones are supposed to be next so those bookends will probably be much more up your alley. I haven't purchased a bookend yet and am not going to start now. I like my toys more than my boxes also.

phenomenal artwork on that site. A lot of the mechs look like porcupines to me... I probably just need to get some more modern anime though.

Uh, would I???? I gotta imagine he wasn't the first boxer to feel he was getting head-butted all night long but he's definitely the only that springs to my mind as taking an ear. "This isn't revenge, this is punishment!" I'm not disparraging the boy though. He put his name on Punch Out and that's one of those few games that actually made me as manly as I am today. I think a better example of stupid ppl are the people who have bid $50+ on that "like takatoku" loose Galaxy Defender. If I'm not mistaking that's a $9.99 knock-off that was sold at Walmart??

wow, now we have wiggle, jiggle, and lubricant all in one post... this is really starting to get out of hand. Sorry to say you've come across a problem I haven't seen myself or heard about someone else encountering so I'm flat out of advice. Maybe if you just wiggle and jiggle steadily, like 20 minutes every night before you go to bed, you'll be able to eventually loosen up the knee and sleep easier...

Ooh, thanks for the pic, the paint job i was fabbing up is quite a bit different. The tricky part is really going to be the head. Oh yeah, that's right, my custom would definitely have to have four lasers on the head and retain a very similar shape to the original.

Nah, the sad thing is I plan on getting at least 4 more (although I'll probably sale one of the Scott MPCs at some point). I also might wait for the greenie to get ridiculously cheap and try my hand at creating a VFA-6S (that's what I imagine Skull One would be in Alpha form). I bought two of the Alphas at my local Gamestop so $39.99 and no shipping. One was a gift, one was $60 after shipping. The other was $96 shipping included. So i think I'm only at about $240 which is pretty close to what I just paid for a classic Alpha MIB... all in all... i'm insane but there are people who are far worse. Please note, other than my one MPC that is a first production run Scott, all of hte others are pretty high class in the quality standpoint. Even my first run scott really only has problems when it comes to the landing gears (they're all pointing in odd directions).

C'mon Promethuem, just show it a little more charm. If you're charming enough you might just be able to show us a YF-19 posing with an ankle above its ear... Oh man, I sooooo gotta get out more!
