rumor at RT.com is that the Beta is now going to follow Shadow Chronicles toys if it comes out at all.

No way Myk, you're probably surrounded by lots of just 18 year old waitresses and hostesses. yummY!

Find the Robotech RPG book Invid Invasion. I believe that has quite a few b&w linearts of "alphas"

I got that exact same item for $60. Mine doesn't even have a big white sticker with chinese writing on it either...

The Description Below Our Avatars

Viceland, was that really necessary.... True story, in college I knew a girl obsessed with Hasselhoff, she had posters of him all over the place... some with him in just a speedo. I'm really sure she did it entirely for the shock factor on other people's faces... it truly was shocking. I'm gonna go drink until I forget. -
1/48+FP's, 1/60, and 1/72 picture gallery

Man, that's intellectual property, you should sue his a-s! Where's the punctuation mark that symbolizes sarcasm? -
You know Yamato will eventually re-release the Super Max & Milia... maybe next time they'll do it with custom Max and Milia GBP. That would suck... it would force me to purchase those as well!

Ain't that the truth. I kid you not, I used to literally dream about being able to buy Robotech (that's all I knew at the time) toys. I had a good sized amount of Transformers but I always wanted Robotech stuff. I beat the living crap out of my Jetfire toy since it was the closest thing I had... other transformers collected dust while Jetfire was used until both his arms fell off. Now I know a lot more and actually have access to the kind of toys I used to dream about being able to get... it's super sweet I agree completely with that sentiment. First of all, I think the MPC is a better toy than the 1/60. I am in constant amazement on these boards of how willing people are to completely ignore the flaws of Yamato items only to pick on Toynami for having an overly-extravagant box. True, Toynami's MPCs don't hold a candle to a Yamato 1/48 but when you can buy them for $40 they're tough to beat. That being said, most people on here are so anti anything HG that they would swear the chunky monkey is superior to the MPC so I can't imagine a scenario where they'd ever wave the Toynami flag (unless Toynami had released the 1/48 and Yamato had quit at the 1/60... even then there'd be diehards espousing the virtues of the Japanese Macross toy). I just love toys... I try not to let the name on the box affect my opinion of what's inside. That's why I pay so much for my 1/48s... but I never pay retail for anything.

Are we talking about Bandai's here? I'm not near mine right now but do they really have double seats? I didn't think they did.
-
Yeah, LowViz, that's a huge amount of text. Perhaps you could work on your intro paragraph and provide a strong thesis so I know what the body paragraphs will be supporting without really having to delve into them. Not trying to sound critical, just offering a suggestion.
-
I believe this actually largely ties into the strength of the american dollar vs. japanese yen. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the dollar was stronger in Japan a couple years back so a chunk of the "why am I paying more now?" simply comes from a worse conversion rate.

Holy crap.... stickered and exosquad version?? That's an outrageously good sale for you! Congrats! It must just be an occurrence of two people new to collecting really wanting to get one to square off against their xmas acquired valks.
-
I'm confused... the proportions Toynami uses are clearly better than Bandai's/Takatokus. By "rigid form" I can only hope you mean that Bandai's feel more solid because they certainly do. MPCs do have a tendency to be a little floppy. Now I know there are some issues with shoddy workmanship on the Toynamis but I haven't heard that the materials are actually flawed? I've seen plenty of people complain about yellowed 1/60 Yamatos... seems like the Toynami MPCs actually hold up better. This could just be because the 1/60s spend less time in the box though.

Did anyone catch what the code is to the padlock? I'll bet they're familiar numbers...

I think people are failing to understand how scale works. 1/1 is one divided by one or.... ONE. 1/60 is one divided by sixty which is a SMALLER number. The smaller the number the SMALLER it is. 1/48 is one divided by forty-eight which is bigger than one divided by sixty so it is a larger scale.
-
Whoa no way, I love the Matchbox Battlepods (I imagine the originals are worth more than the ExoSquad ones). They're not great by any means but people certainly spend more on crappier toys. I think they're worth about $60... especially if you'll spend $80 on a yammy 1/60 or a Toynami 1/55

I think Kate's motivation is a combination of all of the above (maybe not molested... but certainly not treated well. After all, he did tell her to take his pants off, that ranks high on the creep-ometer). So, he abuses her, he abuses his wife, and she realizes she's been living a lie. I like Ecco/Echo but think Anna Lucia is a waste of embryo. I do feel the writers are turning the show into a straight soap-opera rather than a mystery show.
-
Bryan, while the rest of your post makes sense, this quote is wrong. A 1/48 VF-1 will always be larger than a 1/60 VF-1. The reason for this is because a larger scale makes for a larger item. In the case of a VF-0 vs a VF-1 though a 1/60 scale VF-0 is slightly larger than a 1/48 scale VF-1. If Both were done to 1/48 scale the VF-0 would be GINORMOUS in comparison.

I love the LV, I think it's a great paint scheme and I love the fact it's limited. I would also love to see some variations of it as I don't think it'd really affect the value of the 1A. That being said, I'd much rather them do any MacTV variations first. A TV Max, Hayao, or gray 1S would be preferable. Still, it seems that a DYRL 1A Max re-release is more likely than anything new.... but still, I think it won't be until this time next year at the earliest.
-
Ah-ha, it's Vermillion team paint scheme not CF, I stand corrected.

I said: "They will definitely re-release fast pack/strike parts" and everyone was like "I don't know..." I said: "They will definitely re-release the VF-1S Hikaru" and everyone was like "Nah, it didn't sell well." I said: "They will definitely re-release the VF-1J Hik" and everyone was like "Nah, they'll do a package with the GBP" Now I say: "I don't know about the Max 1A" It'll probably get re-released but not for a while. They just inundated the market again so they'll probably let it simmer. You can probably hold your Max 1A for a couple more months to a year... prices will only go up (unless they do re-release it).
-
linky no worky How much did it sell for?
-
No No Zinjo, that looks like Hayao's VF-1 from DYRL. He's talking about a valk that is identical to a CF but with brown replaced by dark green. It's at Alaska Base... the name of the episode is still TBD.
-
I believe it is at Alaska base when Misa goes to see her dad. Don't remember the name of the episode though.
