  1. To my knowledge, they never even mocked up a 1/35 Tread.
  2. You're right, the prototype Takatokus had different heads on their VF-1S.
  3. No box, yellowed, broken, and on the verge of Toynami's release? I think $1,000 even might be it... but it seems like lots of people in Argentina are ready to get into a bidding war.
  4. There's a Max 1A in that same commercial.
  5. Latest word, if I'm not mistaken, is 2/08... and probably everywhere that imports anime toys.
  6. Doesn't XSToys have some really rare one off stuff? I'd be interested to know what kind of stuff like that existed. I don't think prototypes should count exactly... but even those would be cool to know about.
  7. Isn't that Hasegawa art?
  8. What that guy said. ^
  9. As both are clearly douche bags I would definitely go with Sharon. Piloting the SDF-1 whilst piloting a Ghost so superbly TWO fighters could barely compete before one went all suicidal redemption on it was impressive. On the rape, I think it's left intentionally vague as well. He certainly did SOMETHING, likely more than we saw, but how far along and how horrible it got is just better left unsaid, that's a dramatic device. Macross has a lot of "open to interpretation" moments. What I don't get is where anyone could find Isamu "likeable." I think he could have been made likeable if the series was longer but I didn't see it in what we got. A punk who pretty much always gets what he wants whereas Guld is the person who constantly wants more than he has (or, more specifically, what Isamu has).
  10. This could be read two ways... and from past experience I believe both ways of reading it are correct... and that is cool.
  11. I believe the new MegaHouse Cyclones were in the $50 to $60 range, it was detailed in one of the previous pages (in Yen).
  12. To do the knees you don't pull straight out, you pull out and down, it doesn't feel like a sleeve mechanism but some sort of a hinge.
  13. There are other threads that dictate the very minor differences of the DYRL Focker and the MacrossTV Focker VF-1S. If memory serve the arrow on the head is black in TV but yellow in DYRL. There's little stuff like that.
  14. Oh, sorry, I gotta read quick at work.
  15. Please remove the shoulder covers and look at the plastic beneath. I'm curious to see if there are stress marks. It was cracking plastic that made the shoulders loose.
  16. not sarcastic, just drunk.
  17. Wow, I'm kinda with you but that requires further explanation... the bodies of the VF-1A through VF-1S are identical, it's just the paint schemes that changed. I agree on the Banprestos but I would say they are easily far worse than Toynami's MPC Veritech or Yamato's 1/60 VF-1. Once price gets thrown into the equation I think they're all in a brutal fist fight for who can suck worse. Takatoku's henkei series is an easy trumper of all though... those toys leave a LOT to be desired and they're pretty expensive now since they're so old. The Toynami Morphers cost less than two dollars each on eBay so I think I'll just chalk them up to getting what you pay for. I'm sincerely hoping that price is for TWO VF-0S. You're right though, toy-wise I think the first edition VF-0S is right up there with the first edition VF-11B and its exploding hips.
  18. I'm hoping the rest of your rant is sarcastic since you proceed to beg for new toys. I'm also hoping you realize the VF-1D is not a simple repaint, it's a two seater. As a two-seater it has an extended canopy and a slightly different chest piece and a few other differences. If you're confused at the differences please research the custom 2 seater 1/48s that were made by an MW member... Graham, can you please ask for an update on NB4M's 2 seater??? Looked like a beautiful design... Otherwise I'd want to hear about whether or not any new 1/48 repaints are planned (not necessarily reissues of existing schemes). Another question, who has the rights to the upcoming Macross series??? Finally, are there any plans to sell NEW toys based on the original Macross TV series???
  19. While the heat is damaging, it is not the only aspect of the light that does damage. Do LEDs produce light in the UV range? If they don't, and they burn cool, then you're probably looking at the best situation.
  20. I kept my display cases in a room where the window was always shuttered and I made sure that the only side light could come into the cases was the front and the sides that faced other cases. All light is bad. The thing to remember though is sometimes it doesn't matter.... some times plastic just wants to deteriorate.
  21. I think Gakken's 1/8 did a pretty darn impressive job on the bike, I'd love to see someone best it (and it doesn't appear Mega House will be... but Mega House's certainly has many substantial other improvements):
  22. I'd have to rewatch the scene but i thought Hikaru shrugs off (kinda jealously) Max's maneuvers but then immediately finds himself in another fight... I didn't get the impression he was actually trying to do anything Max had done. Hikaru then, of course, smokes some bad guys and comes out unscathed (even if barely so).
  23. Let's not forget Max & Milia's VF-1D flight of only disabling enemies... that's pretty impressive! Also, Hikaru says "I could do that!" when Max shows off in DYRL so I think some members may also be dismissing Hikaru more than they ought (easy to do since he seemed so awkward out of a mech). The story is also intentionally written as to have Hikaru removed when Miria comes looking for the ace as to leave it open to speculation whether Hikaru could be just as good as Max. I always got the feeling much of Max's genius has to do with flash but in the end Hik was smoldering and Max didn't have scratched paint. I certainly would put Hik ahead of Isamu. Ya know, the more I think about it, the more I think they did everything they could to leave this question as open as possible... except for Gamlin, clearly he sucks.
  24. I think Roy is getting dismissed too easily because he died. He was around quite a while before that. I also would give him credit as one of the pilots that made the jump from non variable crafts and Hikaru should get that same nod. Max started variable and ran with it in a big way. Also, Max was entirely too sober. I suppose I give it to Max in the end but a Roy in his prime vs. Max fight to the death would have been something to behold!
  25. is it me or does that look like Wolfe (RT name) taking off his helmet to the right? EDIT - Looks like they've added a shoulder guidance system like Toynami had shown.
