  1. I loved Jack's Joker, although I'm not sure if that's a popular opinion but I would guess it is, I hope Heath Ledger does as well.
  2. The mass of his arm is greater than the mass of the rest of his body. I mean, I'm no physicist, but that don't look right to me.
  3. Flood control bums me out occasionally at 120 because I like to hop on to MW while at work and make a few quick posts and hop off before any coworker is the wiser
  4. I probably have a pic somewhere in here that'd be up your alley. My review of the super/strike parts probably has a pic or two of the other option you were lookin' at.
  5. That thing is begging for a flexi-stand from LOS. I'm sorry, i think all display stands should be transparent.
  6. I read this yesterday and was thinking "Man, some people seem to think the 360 does nothing but break..." Then I went over to my friends house to watch the Warriors game and he turned to another buddy and said "Gee, sure would like to play my 360 after this... oh yeah, that's right, it broke at YOUR HOUSE." The buddy protested that he was just playing as usual and is started generating error codes and it wasn't his fault. He finished his defense by saying "These things just break, Bryan <another buddy of ours> had his break after two months!" There you have it, I know exactly two people with 360s and both of them failed. That said, Bryan has had a replacement now for nearly a year with no more problems.
  7. Interesting, it shows a VF-0S with the ghost bundled with Shin's valk... I wonder if this means we're going to see a VF-0S bundle as well as a Shin VF-0A bundle???
  8. I think he was going for cocktease?

    Storing toys

Humidity is a real killer for boxes. Temperature changes are a real killer for plastic. Avoiding sunlight is definitely a good thing though on all counts. If you put everything in locking plastic tubs (the kind at Home Depot or the like) you'll probably help eliminate your humidity concerns... or at least that was my hope. I put everything in tubs and threw a few desacant packages in each tub and locked them. They're not airtight by any means (heck, most those tubs have a few slots for air so if kids get locked in them they'll have to die of dehydration rather than suffocation) but it's a lot better than nothing or just using a cardboard box. Edit - If you want to go real agro, shrink wrap would probably be the best bet. Unfortunately, that might take you a LONG time. Plastic bags I'd worry about as it seems moisture manages to get into those things and then gets trapped inside. No science to that, that's just how it appears to me.
  10. I did a review of this toy, I tried to picture the differences between the original shoulders and the replacement shoulders but it's really hard to see anything other than the new shoudlers don't have painted tips.
  11. Something doesn't look right about that GBP armor in the front... like it's white where it should be blue or something? You own a toy I never managed to grab though, a VF-1A max JM... fortunately, my dislike of DYRL paint schemes will hinder my jealousy. Thanks Totoro for mentioning my website in that post above. w00t! Obviously your Gakken collection is schweet.
  12. Mac+ was brought over unattested originally so now HG can't contest it. If anyone tries to bring over MacZero there's a chance that HG will contest it (now that they're excercising their rights whenever possible) and that would make MacZero a dead property.
  13. I honestly find it very hard to maintain any sense of anger... but I also don't think "foldildo" is offensive in anyway. Sure, the joke may be old but it doesn't make it less relevant. The thing looks like a light up dildo. I say, let the "foldildo" continue and with any luck will get a packaging misprint like Gakken's old "Blowsuperior" ride armor. Oh good times.
  14. Shin's combo pack comes with a more solid-colored light gray version of the Ghost. The stand alone Ghost comes with the blue and gray markings and can be connected to either the existing VF-0A or the the VF-0S.
  15. Wow, I procrastinated a few days, used the cheapest shipping, and I still got them today. I opened the boxes to confirm there's one of each and didn't see any obvious flubs like Hiriyu's messed up Miria. Not a bad first impression although when these were first being called like "magnet action" I really was under the impression they'd be a bit heftier.
  16. Good question. Basara would still hop out and sing at the enemy though which would still result in the enemy infiltrating the ship. I'm thinking if the X-9 were present we would have just seen far less space battles in the first 20 eps and more chaos within the ship.
  17. Well I think we should all acknowledge that having a wall tapestry of a swastika or glorifying it in some way would be a big no-no. Having swastikas on mechs, toys, or whatever is just a way to denote "bad-guy" and that shouldn't be an issue IMHO.
  18. What's wrong with having a swastika on a mech?
  19. Just be glad you didn't order it from Amenbo.com. They still haven't officially announced they're out of business but their site has been closed for a LONG time. If they're putting up a new Internet store they must be waiting for the time when they can actually deliver the toys through the Internet also.... EDIT - I just got FLOOD CONTROLLED on that last post... interesting.
  20. I'm loving this thread. I'm single again but man, you guys are making me feel like I've been the luckiest guy ever when it came to love. Sure, some of my exs were a bit quirky but damn, never once did I feel like any of them were sucking away my soul! Heck, I've loved some of them MORE than transformable robots ("the hell you say!"). If you find yourself surrounded by terrible girls I suspect you have a terrible approach or simply have no idea how to pick the good from the bad. It's like produce at the store, just because it's for sale there doesn't mean all the pineapples are ripe or the pears aren't bruised. You gotta sort through them and grab the ones worth buying. It's even more of a joke when we start saying that American women are more problematic than women from other countries... that just makes me think someone needs to do more traveling. Women are people, people are universally flawed and difficult to click with or understand but every now and then you'll find yourself greatly rewarded for your efforts. Did I mention the man room? That's still totally the way to go.
  21. Me thinks you are all looking into a bucket and seeing an abyss.
  22. Chowser hit the nail on the head. In fact, I remember hearing a discussion about the complications involved with the cockpit. The cockpit is supposed to fold into the chest cavity. Gakken's 1/72 simulates this by simply folding down (without a chest cavity really being present). The toynami has never, to my knowledge, been shown in a mode where the cockpit would be showing. I heard this was because Toynami was still working on the mechanism in which the cockpit would be able to open as they were very hopeful to be able to include a pilot figure (this may be speculation or rumor that I've overheard though). Remember, the Beta only has a cockpit when flying solo.
  23. What I like to think is that prototypes are purely meant for marketing purposes as far as the public's being able to look at them. They generate stir as people debate how they could be better or what they like about it. Therefore, all the speculation we're engaging in is exactly what the company would hope to have happen. Then, in the meantime, the designers and powers that be within the company really dig at the prototype and determine what they can do to make it better and easy to mass produce. I don't think they're really scouring the Internet for other people's opinions though, I would guess the designers of these toys have a good deal of passion and resources and any nitpicks we're coming up with they've already been over 100 times. They probably do stuff like communicate with the original designer of the mecha and review the very best lineart and stuff like that to see what changes they ought to make. In the end, it may seem like they've responded to Internet criticism but really they just refined their own prototype to meet their own high expectations. Of course, no one is more acutely aware of the compromises that need to be made to make an awesome toy that is also profitable than the people being told to make their dreamwork of engineering simpler and easier to handle.
  24. I think everyone has been pretty clear that it's just the prototype they're picking apart and that we all have higher hopes for the finished product. I see absolutely no harm in viciously ripping every aspect of the prototype apart... that's exactly why prototypes are created. You get the thing in hand, you pour over every detail, you figure out what does and doesn't work, you refine the product. Hopefully, no matter what amount of rape we claim, the people over at CMs are being even more critical of the product.
