Yamato was almost entirely a toy company. Even their 'models' were based on toy concepts that proved simply too limited in demand to warrant the spend on more expensive molds for toys. Their models came in three varieties: plastic injection (fan jet), unassembled toys, and high density something-or-other for their smallest production numbers, the 1/2000 SDF-1 and Regult). Yamato was a small toy company with very few licenses; it was either make a new Macross toys or don't have revenue for them. That was why they were so quick to do reissues and unafraid of saturating the market. Bandai, on the other hand, is a very different beast.

Consolidated Megazone 23 Toy/Model Thread for 2017-2018
jenius replied to RavenHawk's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I would just wait a year, there's a very good likelihood that Arcadia will reissue it as they clearly have plans on continuing to support the line.- 821 replies

I was only kidding around... probably a little too soon for that. I do take some comfort in the notion that this virus seems to not be so hard on children though.

At the end of the day, the masks don't hurt... except in all the people buying them up so healthcare professionals can't find any. Sick people should definitely wear them... but they should be staying at home and binge watching the Mandalorian anyway, The big plus here is that kids don't really seem to get it, or at least, get only a mild version of it. Since kids can spread the disease though, there's a lot of schools shutting down. So, I think you can all see, the logical conclusion is to put the kids in the factories. C'mon Bandai, let's do this!

Oh wow, just watched the video, they got rid of the LED screen in the 1/6 version and replaced it with an orange glowing 'breathing light effect.' That's a curious choice.

In previous years pandemics didn't shutter factories. Who wants to tease a product right now when they have no idea when factories will open again and the kind of backlogs they will have? On the bright side, you can use your toy funds to buy Purell, masks, and toilet paper. I really have no idea what the run on toilet paper is all about. Start thinking of all the 2020 teases as 2021 teases and there will likely be lots of cancelled products as companies try to catch up.

I'm still receiving items from other vendors out of Japan. I very much doubt the virus can survive that kind of transportation, more likely not a lot of workers around to process deliveries.

They're probably being told to take time off as part of the quarantine measures.

While there's certainly truth that original designs would be free and clear, many of those examples would not pass muster. Sounds like some fans are confusing the usual slight visual tweaks to sell people the same toy they already own as something more clever.

You may also be able to remove the feet on the KC toy for a close enough fit.

He actually looks really tall... shouldn't his head be in front of the head-rest. This might be a victim of KitzConcept's toys being more 1/11 than 1/12.

I have heard that if you're not a Japanese company, it's almost impossible to get a Macross license. I have also heard that, even in Japan, BigWest is hard to do business with. So, some Robotech products probably begin as dreams of Macross products but become Robotech goods because HG is eager to do business while BW never returns a call.

how to post in for sale/trade section?

There's a minimum post count for that thread so participate in some conversations. -
Just the 1A schemes, like they did with the original hi metal line. It makes sense to do them together since it can be one production run with different paint applications. I doubt they will since three DXs at the same time would be expensive be for someone that wants them all... But it would be a significant step toward filling out the line. Maybe a better way would be one each month over three months after having made them all together.

Maybe they'll do Max and Hikaru at the same time??

A la carte seems all but certain given the inclusion of the emblems.

This seems like exactly the kind of pandemic that should be countered with educational campaigns about how to not spread germs.... but it is instead being treating like World War Z.

Thank you! From what I understand, the big manufacturers are allowed to continue operations BUT there's still a travel ban so their workers can't make it to the factory. Also, the smaller manufacturers still have bans so the parts that feed the bigger assembly lines aren't making it in so even if they did have enough people to put things together, chances are they don't have all the parts. Basically, we're a month away at least from things getting going again and then there's going to be a HUGE backlog and a lot of people taking stock from what happens to the economy when a quarter's worth of production is lost. Think of all the companies right now paying their sales force to sell items on the hope that they will be produced in China soon AND that they'll get the cash from those sells (usually a month after delivery) before they run out of money from paying their staff. This is why the stock market is plunging.

I would take some good news that factories are operating again...

What display stand adapter is that? I have a Arcadia VF-1 on the simple display stand right now and the VF-1 itself is right up against the stand... this adapter looks very tall in comparison. Mine looks like this:

Grab the popcorn!

The Focker VF-4 is a non-canon scheme.
