    Threezero Berserker armor Guts just arrived. Very cool but I would have been happier if they didn’t forget a piece;

Contacted Threezero CS and thankfully they’re fixing me up.:help:

@Angesdad that Threezero Guts figure looks amazing, the lighting in your display give and even more menacing appearance.  :good:

Thanks for the compliments guys.. :D

I thought that was the problem at first, but I checked & rechecked. Even locked, it still flops down too easily with the weight of the boosters.. But I don't recall those HMR VF-1s with Super/Strike parts having this issue though..

When Sci-Fi 06 was first previewed, I knew I wanted it for non-SW stuff with the imagined pics I have in mind. But in reality, lighting the transparent pieces proved to be challenging for my very amateurish efforts. If the pics look to have strange, off or sloppy lighting, that's because it really is. It's just me randomly placing light sources around to see what looks acceptable to my beginner's eyes. I have even more appreciation now for how you manage to light up your subjects so evenly across the whole pic, not only the foreground, but the background transparent pieces as well on your custom Sci-Fi set, with very deliberate aimed lighting on certain spots to get that reflection off the fighters' canopies or the battroid head lenses.. :hail:

Thank you @MKT, I appreciate your kind words and that you can see what goes into a shot other than just putting a figure on a table and taking a shot.  I know what you mean about the transparent pieces of the Sci-Fi 6, they do tend to give a lot back lighting which can cause the subject to not be illuminated well.  You have a good eye for composition and from what you wrote looks its great that you are working with light sources to offset the backlighting and lighting the figure.

Drop me a PM if you have any questions and I can offer some suggestions. :D

The recent Chogokin Armored VF-1J pre-order frenzy have made me re-acquaint with other Armored VF-1Js in my collection. I had the HMR version for sometime, but other than quickly slapping on the armor parts & put in a quick pose for the display cabinet, I did not play with it much, until recently..

Back in high school many eons ago, me and mates used to have *R* RPG sessions, and the one mech we would always want to get our hands on was the Armored VF-1..

    zklIBob.jpg

We would feel that much more invincible when the GM throws the many Regults our way. Non-withstanding the big diaper pants to protect our crotches , this is 80's real-mecha chunkiness at one of its best..

    QMVaesP.jpg

But it was also the awesome firepower it holds that's the obvious draw. Incoming Itano circus!

This HMR version is generally a real pleasure to handle even at this size, and could see Bandai did make quite some effort to keep as much as possible the base 1J's hip movement for that dynamic A-stance. Minor annoyances would be the hip missiles that fall off too easily and the backpack which will always want to fold down.

Excellent shots @MKT and the FEXT Sci-Fi 06 is a great background it make the VF-1J GBP stand out. :good:

  4. Prep for maintenance.  The VT-1 and VF-1D that I had purchased from @no3Ljm were in excellent shape and well taken care of.  I am still going to do some maintenance on them, these were are well known for the knurled pin cracked shoulder hinge.  I'll working on fixing sanding down the knurled end of the pin to smooth it out and fixing the crack plastic hinge.  I'll post pics when everything is complete. :good:

How in the world are you going to "Swoosh" around the HMR Monster @BroTaku79 (plus @Saburo has one already so what's the point in having two Monsters that are hogging the space in the photoshoots)?  <_<

As for the Koeing, you technically can @leeboo1211, however its more of a display place as you pose it and forget it.

I'm going to give it my best guess... Arcadia SDF-1 (can either be the non-PF or PF version).

@borgified that would be a good guess, but I have an Arcadia PF SDF-1. :)

Hmmm not too many Macross items come in a large cube shaped box like that...

@Lolicon, been keeping an eye out for these for a while now, the opportunity was given to me by @no3Ljm. I am very grateful and elated to add these to my collection. :yahoo: I still haven't taken a pic of them out of the box, I'll do that shortly.

Been a bit busy as of late, but had some time this weekend to get back to the YF-29 grind.

First order of business: touching up the terrible pilot figure. Hand painting is hardly my strong suit, and the molding of the pilot is pretty bad, but I did what I could to make it actually look like Alto from the anime. :unknw:

Stock pilot from first YF-29 release vs touched up YF-29 reissue pilot (Bandai used a darker shade of white plastic on the reissue)

That is amazing work on the details for such a tiny figure. :good:

Hi, I ordered from them and received mine at the end of last week.  They did send me a message asking for payment of shipping fees before sending out.

Thanks for the info, I called DHL told me they had a back up on processing at Cincinnati hub.  Package arrived today. :D

Ugh.. I still wish I could get a spare crotch plate for my 25G.  Came missing from the factory, and of course Bandai doesn't do replacement parts. <_<

Not a big deal if I use the super packs, but I've never liked those plain gray pieces at all, since they seem so out of place.  In the end, I just scavenged the crotch from my YF-25, since the blues are close enough to my eye.

@Chronocidal, that sucks having the piece missing from the factory.  Hope you are able to find a replacement.

One of these days I'm going to have to take mine out of Fighter with the Armor Parts attached. I'm just afraid to see if it turned into a floppy mess after all of these years!

haha, might interesting to do that just to see how it is holding up. :D

@Saburo's enabling pics led me to buy an Arcadia VF-0S...and then the Reactive Armor to go with it. Those pics are dangerous.

Haha, My apologies to your wallet @Anasazi37:D Also going to ask you a about a decal/waterslide idea.

    I’ll send you a pm.
