  1. Cyde01, Wow man. Sorry to hear that. And I do hope Karma gets the theif(s). To make you feel better, my fiancee is leaving (not in a bad note). The wedding is off. We just got a condo in SoCal. Now I'm stuck with a mortgage. It's gonna be hard to get Yamatos now. I had in mind collecting all the valkyries released, but it ain't gonna happen no more. I'll probably end up selling stuff on Ebay soon. Check your backs...watch out for those fools casing yer home, car, time you leave, when you turn lights off at night etc. Don't fret! Yamato will provide us more great stuff soon, and more opportunities for you to purchase.
  2. The YF-19 looks good. I'm guessing Yamato will come out with a gray-colored version. Damn, why do these things have to be so expensive! Thank you for the pics. And how the heck are you guys able to get two or more of these toys?
  3. I didn't want to start a new topic...so hopefully you guys can answer my question: I pre-ordered ED-209 and Robocop 3 from SideShow Collectibles, and today just found out about a Robocop 3 with flight pack. Does the Robocop 3 that's coming out this month come with a flight pack? Or is there a third release? Man, I'll be so bummed if there's another version to follow this Robocop 3 release.
  4. I visited the Anime Store in San Diego before dinner last night and saw the MP-04 Optimus Prime. I really love the box and the photos they've printed on it. I love the varnish coat too and foiling they did on some of the fonts. It's a big-ass box!...selling for $199.99 USD I've preordered mine through tmpanime.com...but have any of you peeps, who ordered, receive your optimus prime yet? Sorry I did not have a digital camera at the time to take photos. Can someone post up an open box photos?
  5. damn...i'm sure hoping the detials on this will be as good as the one i saw at the san diego comic con...and hopefully with stiffer, locking joints like the "revoltechs" joints. i'd always liked robocop...fascinated by the whole movie...here are some shots from past july '06...a little late, but ED's cool. i left the pics a little large to show off more details.
  6. 2.1 megapixel is good enough for web...but 4.0 + megapixel will be even better. If one cannot access a digital SLR and lights, I recommend getting a camera will aperture/semi-manual settings. I'd like to get an SLR and some lights.
  7. Packaging 340 at SDSU which required us to make "point of purchase" displays for toys. So I visited Toys R Us for reference and saw Spawn series, and turned to eBay in 1999. Not a long time, but the money spent on toys since then can definitely cover our first year of mortgage on a townhome we just bought. I'm about to sell several 1/48s on ebizzy to pay for the wedding reception...hee hee.
  8. I still think Hiro is strongest. Hiro mad, Hiro crush you!

    Finally

Hey nice collection Kanedaestes! I know all about the dust factor...I'm thinking about shrinkwrapping the valkyries but yet to find out how. Here's my collection, it's not much...but moving it to our new house was a challenge. That was the heaviest box during the entire move...sheeesh! We could not pass it through the doorway, so we had to unload outside and carry each item.
  10. Foh shoo! I held out on PS2 until GT4 came out. That's the only reason why I bought a PS2.
  11. Mister E...heh heh...man, I get all excited looking at these things! (sigh) But I'm gonna miss out on the VF-0A, until after the wedding, maybe they'll have some reprints with the booster packs after the second quarter of 2007...not to mention we just bought a town home. I need a job on the weekends...heh heh...maybe designing "stuff" for Yamato? I'm trying to convince my fiancée that it's an addiction, but she says no. I'm in denial to to fully explain my weakness...cuz you just can't get one, you gotta git 'em all! ... especially growing up and not being able to afford this stuff.
  12. Hi Graham, Would you know if Yamato has plans for the reactive armor for the 1/60 VF-0s? I'm sure Yamato can outshine Hasegawa in terms of details.
  13. I agree UN Spacy ... how weird with the 1/48 & 1/60 sizes in different modes. SS looks like it's a treat to transform, but I like consistency. Thank you guys, the reviews and photos helped a lot on deciding for this SS toy; Limbo, Twoducks and Chowyunskinny (thanks for the pixs). Now if SS runs for $40 ... maybe.
  14. Any chance of taking a photo of Starscream with MP-01 Optimus Prime side by side, straight shot from front? 'Just curious about the size difference. Jason
  15. Having discovered Robotech in the Philippines as a kid, I was hooked. Then after moving to America in the mid 80s I discovered Macross and a lot about military jet fighters; I fell in loved with the F-14 ... to me, that plane was the VF valkyrie. Then I was really excited after seeing Macross Zero, and that the mecha designer of the original valkyries looked at the F-14 as a model reference. After reading this post, I like to share some stuff specifically on the JSF. For you Macross Plus fans, check out the DVD or VHS (if it's available) of the JSF program, the Boeing's X-32 versus Lockheed Martin's X-35. The show is the real life Macross Plus without the battloid mode and love story. Two companies fighting for the military contract; each with their badass jet fighter that can hover like a harrier and still break Mach 2. Of course you all know that the X-35, now F-35, won the bid...but I was really excited after seeing that program. The History Channel, PBS, or Amazon may have the video/dvd. Sample clip of F-35 which some of you peeps have seen already: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrEYmBNpzVI...ted&search= I was like, "wow, all this awesome sci-fi sh*t is taking place now while I'm alive, during our time!"
  16. damn, that pod just got it's ass handed to it ... cool photo!
  17. wait, so who or what is the target audience again for this series? damn, i don't think the packaging goes well with the truck...that's an american manly truck for goodness sakes! so does this mean melissa is grabbing life by the horns?
  18. uh, so where do we sign up to get "roller" for the upcoming MP-04? i've pre-ordered with tmpanime.com ... oh man, this news breaks my heart ... spending close to $200 for an incomplete toy. thanks for the pix Wolfx.
  19. yep, looking at mine now too on top of the shelf with the 1/48 vf-1s...it's starting to look like a chunky monkey next to the 1/60 vf-0s cuz of all those curves. my only problem is the ball points on the forearms will not fix on the gunpod handle "hole." i'm getting the vf-0a...and definitely the yf-19 etc. now i'm thinking about getting 1/60 scales...
  20. yep, these 1/100 scales are not worth $20 ... maybe $12, but they would have to minimize the quality of the box. $20 would be a good price with the FP included. the two exclusives i got are 711 and 739 out of 1000...does that count as an exclusive status?
  21. pfff! image anime ... i bought two binaltechs from them and the plastic part of the boxes were crunched ... they wouldn't cover my shipping ... i had to pay shipping three times to get undamaged boxes. yep, those guys are lazy. i'm never buying from them again.
  22. DatterBoy, I've been thinking the same thing. So far I've skipped the Low Viz 2, the Stealth, and will probably skip two to three other version coming out this fall. The last valkyrie I purchased was the VF-0S. And after the Comic Con, I realized that there are plenty of ther cool stuff other than Macross 1/48 scales. We're set to get married March 2007...and I've been lagging on the savings. My fiancée and I are actually focusing some of our income towards mountain biking and road biking. Gosh damn it feels great. But hey, good luck! Keep on drawing mang! You do great work. Hopefully I'll be able to share some of my illustrations also with you all. I think once I have a kid...all attention to him/her...life is good indeed. And if I'm to give them all up, I'd keep the VF-1J with the GBP-1 and the fast packs because that valkyrie sticks out the most on my mind...due to my childhood years with Robotech. We all know that we're not forced to buy these toys, but you feel the tendency to do so because we love this stuff...the real issue here is the high price versus the lack of QC...especially marked up shipping/handling...and hoarding valkyries. So until some of our fellow peeps pay-up $2400 per month on mortgage for a 1400 sq. ft. home, they'll never feel the pinch. Go Blue!
  23. Well...it's almost going to be a year now since I've posted this...and still no insurance. Since my fiancée and I are not married, we need to pay separate coverage. I guess it's careless of me not to get insurance at all. I gotta definitely sign up ASAP. I just finished checking out the Comic Con, and after seeing all the goodies...and the goodies coming out from Yamato, coverage is definately in need. Roy Focker and RJ Junkie, who are you guys using for insurance coverage?
  24. Hey Fit For Natalie, Do you know if Takara has stopped all the toy BT series with BT-17 ... and now are only producting the BTA series? And are the BTA action figures worth their price? I have BT-01 to BT-10 ... and thinking about buying the remaining up to BT-17...or would it be better to stick with Alternators? What do you guys think?
  25. um....HELLO! Not official movie footage. 412648[/snapback] hmm...i didn't say this was part of the transformers movie...just a possibility based from the freelancer's site. if one person can do this, imagine a whole team of special fx crews. but anyhow, you guys are a tough crowd. hopefully they'll have a complete trailer at the 2006 San Diego Comic Convention.
