    This is where I ended up on the fence and then made my purchase. I collect KO items so this will be a nice addition. I hope they make a great version of this Hikaru VF-1S StrikeValkyrie in grey so I can pair it up with this rare grey 1/55 version.

    Have you considered making a clip tha would reach down from the center of the claw to the backpack. This would be able to take on the load for the entire arm and might require less work and give you better streamlines attributes over installing magnets on the claws.

    Good catch on positioning the thrusters correctly. The instructions show one on top and two on the bottom in GERWALK mode. Also you might just be able to trim the original thruster plate as long as you set it in the correct orientation first then trim to fit. nice job on the antenna. You build is looking really good.

    A couple of years ago my 5-year old son won this as a pachinko/raffle prize. While it has never been opened it still looks pretty cool. The set is the Fighter and Battroid which of course can be parts formed into Gerwalk. To date I never bought one, but my first impression of this was that it was nice to pick up but not the retail prices for such a tiny VF. Shame though this truly a great scale VF.

    So looking forward to your build. Sorry I have nothing to offer to translate anything on the instruction sheet, but rest assured you don’t really need to read it. Take your time go through the instructions, dry fit for before paint, clean it, paint, and assemble. Share progress pics.

    Did this line die? I was really liking the size and possibilities for this line. The scale was just right and the details are amazing.

    The design choices are interesting. With regards to the backpack, wasn’t it Kawamori who redesigned it in this fashion? One odd thing about the backpack besides the obvious is the small trapezoid it connects to. The part seems to stretch. It doesn’t appear to raise like a plate or any previous versions of it. Either way the kit is very impressive. Tekering, thanks for sharing these pictures with the rest of us.

    From previous post yes tha quality is subpar given that parts do not mate well, plastic feels cheap, and breakage is imminent. But what I would like to know is about the shoulders. Has anyone experienced any breakage the shoulders? Are these the updated versions?

    The heads appear to be molded to this flanges. This is an easier way to mate the flange to the lower part of the fuselage and maintains a streamlined bottom while keeping costs down.

    Like most there are only a few that I would definitely want: -VF-1J Hikaru TV -VF-1S Super Hikaru TV -VF-1A CF TV -VF-1D TV -VF-1S Strike Hikaru DYRL -VE-1 ElintSeeker -VT-1 SuperOstrich and GBP-1 Armour TV Beyond this list I have no interest for anything else. I hope this line is a success for Bandai and we get more than just a handful of varietal VFs.
