    It’s from the Macross DYRL Gold Book. The flip style wrists have always been done incorrectly since the old 1/55. And there have been covers. What people actually saw were the fingers that appeared to be slats or a striped panel. Hope this helps.

    Did you know there was a model kit associated with the release of the movie? Long ago on YJA I came across a non-scale model kit of an SDF-1 in a white box with Macross printed in black and according to the description it was said to be a movie release giveaway. IiRC, the box also had printed reference of the release of the movie. I had bid on the item but when I won it the seller decided to keep the item and I was SOL on acquiring it. Like a numb but, I forgot to save pictures of the listing as I was really excited Over it and was the only one bidding for it. Had I won I would have posted pictures of it.

    I think that was the only release that was standard. But all the rest seem to have all the armaments, armors, and tampo print.

    True. To this day I still wish they had released official two-seaters. What was so great about the original 1/48 is just how easy it is to customize with just a little splash of paint or decals.

    I noticed you did not have the VF-1S Roy Low Visibility, was this older footage or did Roy just not fit. Excellent collection!

    I can attest that both the VF-1S Strike Roy and Hikaru are PF. They are a pretty good deal and they come with Clear Fast Pack option parts. Not sure about the VF-1Js.

    Wow. Great mod! Are you considering to model the hands so the rest of your Yamato’s can have multi jointed fingers like the DX? Would definitely be an excellent upgrade for all Yamato’s out there.

    The hand looks amazing! Finally after all these years Axtel has created the perfect hand. Looking over reference material the hand is still a tad small. You could gain more space in the storage cavity if you create the proper sliding mechanism to retract the hand. Use the x-ray poster as your reference and you’ll see what I mean. Can’t wait to see more.

    Is the Zentradi ship the same as this (from Australia) or something different (like the recast e-2046)? Either way both are great!

    Thanks Jenius and Derex. Just having my daughter work on this with me was astounding and to top it off with my son’s help was sheer joy. Now they feel like they can build anything and they have the proof to show it. My daughter, according to her future plans of education will be Deerfield, Amherst, and graduate from MIT. This girl is incredibly smart and can definitely accomplish her goal. So proud of her.

    Nice color and great finish. Is this red with a bit or orange added? From the pictures it looks like pumpkin or persimmon in color.

    They don’t but their urine does. Plus having the heat lamp on accelerates the evaporation which Would give off a smell. Not sure if this is the cause though. Are your figures displayed opened on shelves or still in their boxes?
