I could totally imagining myself buying a new Arcadia YF-21 and the VF-22 from Delta as a Bandai mold.

But Valkyries yellow, get brittle and in the end break. Bitcoin will be billowing through the Interwebs for all eternity... ...or until someone pulls the plug.

Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

I can't imagine that Basara would be the guy that is interested in anything but singing. I'm pretty sure Miria got her way and married Mylene to Gamlin. *Gamlin Kick* -
Yeah I don't know if I'm a fan of the quality of that panel lining job... maybe I should cancel and order a regular one instead? On the other hand on the not-so-close shots it looks pretty good and I think the regular one is not detailed enough. Maybe something in the middle would be ideal for me? I guess I'll wait till I have my copy in hand. If I don't like it maybe I can trade it with a regular release.... ...now I'm debating if I need a DX Quarter too. I certainly need a DX Elysion!

As a fan of Macross DX Valkyries I agree that Bandai could sell more units. However since I don't know the constraints of a DX production run I can't say why they don't produce more. Surely the etailers will beg Bandai to allocate more stock to them since for them selling more units has a 1:1 relation to their profits. For Bandai this might not be the case. Seeing that the revenue the Macross brand produces for Bandai is in the 1 digit percentage and the DX Valkyries are only one part of the line (HMR, snap fit model-kits and statues/figures and other merch) I'm not sure that maximizing the profits of this sub-line will have an impact on net growth in revenue globally. That will depend on what growth rates Bandai estimates for the Macross line. Ventures in other lines like Gundam/Kamen Rider/Star Wars might be more profitable than Macross.

Yep, this is a likely possibility as well.

I would say customization is a down in value because the number of people who like what you did is smaller than the total demand of the market. I certainly wouldn't want a customized unit when I can get a MIB one instead. So that is already one person in the world who is not interested in buying a customized one. Additionally it is hard to gauge the quality of the customization when you don't have the item in hand to check it up close. So this is a gamble for any potential buyer especially if you don't have build up a reputation for customizing already. Please don't take this as an insult because I never seen the stuff you do for customizing but most of these customizing projects make the toy look worse than better and even damage it. Even if it is arguably an improvement some people might not like what you did on an aesthetic level.

That is similar to my current theory why Bandai is unable or unwilling to produce more stock. Macross is a niche line in Bandais portfolio so they might not get more factory time because other, more important toy lines are already schedule after that (Gundam *cough cough*. So Bandai might say to the Macross team you can have the factory to produce a batch of (imaginary number) 1000 Valkyries. Additionally if they produces these items in batches and not single units you might run into a problem of overproducing a certain item. Say one batch is 1000 units and there is a total demand for 1500 units you produces 500 units of dead stock. Better sell all your stuff and keep the fanbase hyped/worried for every release. So the iPhone comparison earlier is not valid since Apple can produce much more units before market saturation sinks it. The iPhone is one of three major items Apple sells whereas Macross is one in 100 product lines that Bandai earns money with. Arcadia, who probably rents factory space instead of owning them, are probably more flexible because they operate on a much smaller scale. They are pretty similar to a 3rd Party Transformers company. To me that is a sound explanation for the DX Macross Valkyries. Now the question remains why other lines like the Gundam Metal Build sell out so fast.

If I remember correctly the episode with Spartan 1337 was pretty silly in tone so I think it fits pretty well for that specific episode. -

@Gundam@EFSF the pylons for the gun should come down a fair bit on those hinges. Makes it even more compact.

I'm super interested in the Monstructor but I feel like the price is too high. At $250 I would buy it without a second thought. I will probably wait for some reviews and see if it goes on sale around Black Friday.- 9275 replies

I would usually agree with you but I ordered two Transformers items from them a week ago and still never got an order confirmation.
-
It is really aggravating that it is not only hard to order but you have to deal with tech problems during the order process -.- Enough about this nonsense worrying for toy preorders. I have to get to work now.

I ordered a few Transformers a couple of days before by HLJ an still never got an order confirmation

I am a zombie right know. *yawn* Are all Bandai preorders going up at 6PM today? If not maybe they want to help the etailers to spread the load on their websites.
