  1. The recent images don't really wow me. It looks far too similar to Yamcadias 1/60 and I prefer the smaller size of those. I will wait for a review and if the engineering impresses me I might buy a VF-1S Hikaru with Super Strike Parts that will be placed in front of my Arcadia SDF-1PF as a center piece for the collection. To be honest I much rather have the 1/35 SoC version we saw a prototype of. Looks way more appealing to me.
  2. I think all my OX toys with the exception of Jaguar had paint mishaps. I know extrapolating a general trend from maybe 10 item is faulty but generally to me, and my preferences the Reformatted toys are of a higher quality. I'm glad that your copies are all in good shape but that doesn't reflect my personal experience. I can recognize that they tied something higher end with the OX line, especially in the engineering department. What baffles me is that they have issues (like paint, molding and durability) that are non issues for most of their other stuff. I agree that Cynicus was problematic. If I remember correctly they stated that he was assembled in a different factory which lead to the breakage issues. Maybe they have factories that turn out great stuff and some that don't and maybe OX toys are assembled in the latter one. Generally I seem to have other preferences when it comes to collectible toys than most others. Maybe I should stick to Metal Builds and Valkyries. [edit:]Love the Downbeat pictures but man I wished they used a flat gray instead of the swirly plastic (or better paint).
  3. I have all Ocular Max molds they put out so far. And while I think Sphinx is the best toy in my G1 Masterpiece collection the quality went downhill from him. Exceptions are Jaguar and Frumble to a certain extend. They all have thin plastic, shoddy paint applications and questionable design decisions. Reformatted bots (I have all the molds they released) (I lied, I haven't bought the Malum Militia) are build from thick, significant feeling plastic, smart engineering decisions and sharp paint applications (with the exception of the Jaegertron mold). I can see where you come from though since Reformatted is more of an evolution of Hasbros mainline toys (no waffles, good articulation and good paint). To proof my point here is an image of Hellions faces from BSFs review: How is this an acceptable paint application on a "high-end" toy? Never had this problem on any Reformatted bot (with the exception of Boreas which is crap).
  4. Paik4Life taking a look at the MMC Assaultus (G1 Bruticus) test-shot from TFCon Toronto 2018. I think that looks very promising. When I came back into the Transformers fandom I always thought that technology would have advanced far enough to allow for combiners with all parts included in the bots. Boy where I wrong. Assaultus looks more like a MMC Reformatted toy than a Ocular Max one which is only a positive thing since OX toy seem to be mostly inferior to their Reformatted brethren. So I'm looking forward to this release and hope they come with copious paint applications and better toleranced joints. :P
  5. In recent times I came to the conclusion that it was a mistake to allow people on the Internet. The upload to the Internet should be limited to robots, and trained professionals. On the other hand we are probably in a transitional generation that will be the last ones that will be bitten by their past sins on the social networks when the Internet was wild and unregulated. Our grandchildren will probably be much aware of what you can and cannot post on the Internet. It would be interesting to see if publishing your personality on online social platforms is a thing that is here to stay.
  6. So I tried something new and ordered the Tamiya Accent Colors for panel lining. At the moment I'm building the RG Exia and applying the washes and clean them up on the runners with lacquer thinner. Now I noticed that the Exia is cracking in many different places while assembly. Like a knee joint broke, the feet armor broke and the movable flap on the chest broke. Now my questions are: Am I using the washes and the thinner wrongly and do they damage the parts Is the RG Exia prone to breakage in those areas The kit was a bit in storage so maybe the storage conditions are the reason the kit broke (plastic getting brittle due to high temperatures etc.)
  7. What are the chances we will get a VF-1S with DYRL Super Strike Parts? I would buy one (preferably Max or Hikaru) as a display piece for my office.
  8. I think the Punch/Counter Punch mold is a smart business decision by Hasbro. This pretool can be used for so many releases. From the top of my head: Drift/Evil Drift, Tracks, Wheeljack, Nightbeat. I‘m looking forward to the P/CP mold toy aisle invasion.
  9. Thanks for the Zelda tips Mike. I made some process in the game and I'm now in dungeon 5 where I have a hard time with the blue Darknuts. Haven't found a strategy that works well against them. I'm probably not patient enough which is funny since that is my issue with this enemy in every Zelda iteration. Yeah, the orb looking thingy was the blue ring and I also found the white sword. No second sword upgrade yet. I also bought a second NES Mini controller today. Not sure if I will need it in the near future but It is nice to have I guess.
  10. Contrary to BSF believe I'm super excited for anything new Cross Dimensions. I just wished they would release stuff faster. That and doing a God Bomber upgrade set for Thunder Erebus. I need a reason to pick this toy up again it's so much fun messing with it. I'm also on board for the new Reformatted announcements by MMC. The line had only one dud so far (everyone involved in the creation of Boreas should be ashamed) and I think their Stray (IDW Drift) is probably the best Drift toy on the market (I'm torn because FlameToys Drift is also an excellent offering but for a different audience). The Ocular Max stuff looks cool but the last few releases where all misses in the QC department so I will wait for some reviews. I'm curious about the Azalea molds. I hope they do a repaint so I can compare it to FTs Rouge. Their Assaultus looks promising as well but I'm very hesitant for everything Ocular Max. Are there any news for the Galaxy Meteor repaints? I really want Galaxy Skycrow for my Skywarp collection. I'm also looking forward for the new bikes from the Unrustable Bastards. I'm not sure if I want to back their comic Kickstarter but I'm in for the next round of toys. Speaking of crowd-funding. The MAAS Toys Tetrajets are $4500 (or two retailer pledges) short of reaching their goal. I wonder if it will get funded.
  11. No stand, just a base. Which is probably the most disappointing aspect of that toy.

Is there a Bandai stand that just contains the pose-able armatures? I need some for my VF-2SS Auto Attack Bits but I don't the rest of the stuff that is included with the Tamashii Stage Act 4 (https://hlj.com/product/BANR63159).
  13. I backed the Maas Toys kickstarter yestetday. I hope it picks up some steam during TFCon this weekend and gets funded. I‘m only in for Wraith to add another Skywarp to my ever growing collection of black and purple jets.
  14. I want to get into the MP BW toys. But I don‘t have room and time for another collection.
  15. I‘m of the opinion that a Dinobot combiner would be perfect for a Titan Class box set. Sludge could be gigantic and forming the legs and lower abdomen. Grimlock is the torso, Slag and Snarl the arms and Swoop the winged backpack. No one cares if the Predacons are all one size anyway.
  16. If orange and blue are your favorite colors you should have at least one DX Chogokin YF-25 in your collection.
  17. Over at TFW a member reported the retail price for Beast Wars Megatron and it is... ...35000 JPY. If the quality is there for demaning such a high price point I‘m sad that MP Ultra Magnus or Star Saber weren‘t 35k. On the other hand MP Laderwave was crazy expensive and not worth the asking price so who knows how good Megatron will be. http://news.tfw2005.com/2018/07/03/takaratomy-masterpiece-mp-43-beast-megatron-price-and-release-date-revealed-366553
  18. God, this looks so gorgeous: I wonder if this qualifies as a Nemesis Prime x Shin Getter crossover so I have a justification to buy it. https://hlj.com/product/set88030
  19. I got a NES Classic as well. Since I never had a NES as a kid this is a whole new experience to me. One of my friends had one (his mom actually) but they had few games. The SNES is the system I grew up with and to me it is the pinnacle of sprite based game systems. That is why so many games are still highly enjoyable today and it has the best game of all times: Chrono Trigger. That said I welcome the chance to play some predecessors of my favorite games of all times like Metroid and Zelda. So I wasted no time and booted up Zelda 1 which is an interesting experience. I already completed one dungeon and at the moment I'm in dungeon 3 (skipping dungeon 2 because I have no idea where what is) trying to complete it. I had to start anew an hour in because I though the Retry option on the game over screen meant I could retry the same screen again but it reseted the whole game. Maybe not the wost accident because I used up all my Rupees firing arrows like a mad man thinking I got infinite ammunition. Fun times I should probably go back and search dungeon 2 and farm some Rupees because I need to buy a shield (that is hopefully not the shield I already have), a orb with an unknown function and a piece of meat that hopefully does more than restore my current health. I also need to find out how I can decide if a wall is bomb-able or not... probably try and error.
  20. None taken. You like what you like.

I've made a timer for the VF-2SS: https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/taxday?p0=248&iso=20180702T16&year=2018&month=7&day=2&hour=16&min=0&sec=0&msg=VF-2SS Nexx Custom Preorder
  22. I like the Chronos better. Love how the arms are stored and I think it has a more unique chest section. The VF-31 looks more like a Frontier Valkyrie with the nosecone as a chest. The Chronos has also a unique Gerwalk-Mode with the ability to rotate the legs at the waist swivel. Two things are obvious: Bandai needs to release more variants of the Chronos. We need one or more add-on sets that provide us with more weapon pods.
  23. Wotafa reviews the Metamor-Force Black Sarena:
  24. So I got my BadCube Recon and I agree with most of the points Kuma made. It is a bit on the light side and a bit gappy. There where also some questionable decisions taken like painting red on black without a second coat or a white paint underneath. But at least they are a unified shade of dirty red compared to my MP Lambor who came in 50 shades of red -.-. The toy has its highlights though. The transformation is challenging but not too difficult and quite rewarding. Articulation is good and paint is usually applied evenly. I wished they painted the details on the legs as they look plain. I'm excited that Sideswipe and Red Alert are two different molds in my MP collection so I tend to overlook some of its flaws. That said this Toy is like the Ikea version of a piece of furniture. They are build it with as little material as possible. Where furniture from a carpenter is made with real wood that looks a and feels massive the Ikea furniture tried to make everything as thin as possible. It looks stylish but has no substance. This is how Recon feels for me. Everything is works and it looks good but there is some substance missing. If they made every piece on the toy a millimeter or two thicker and the feet and lower legs die-cast this would be truly awesome. What safes the toy is the small size where the lack of mass is not as noticeable. On a bigger toy like MP Star Saber it makes the toy feel like a shampoo bottle but for a smaller one it is o.k. I don't know if it would made the toy better but when I compare this with my MMC Reformatted robots who are built like bricks they are just a joy to handle and feel significant and well worth the price to me. I also need some help. The collarbones on mine have a pink hue and are not completely white. I assume due to a missing coat of paint. I need to capture this on an image because I want to try to get a replacement piece. It seems impossible to capture the pink hue with my camera (a Sony Alpha 6000). Does anyone know how to capture the effect on an image? I appreciate any help.
