    Is it a telling sign, that I thought that on first sight that the Valkyrie had a new head turret and the part I colored in is the visor: Instead of being the iconic VF-1J head turret from SDF-1... ...maybe I'm just not a proper Macross fan.

    You should buy a MB Strike Freedom. I love mine and I‘ve never seen a second of Gundam Seed.

    Peaughs review of BadCubes Recon: That looks awesome and I need to have one. I'm super happy that I didn't buy a MP Alert because it is so nice to have two different molds for characters that historically been always recolors of each other which I'm super into (same situation with MP Grapple and MMCs Backdraft). Also MP Sideswipe is a pretty dated toy so..... ...I hope that some company does a own version of MP Prowl since I only have the Bluestreak variant. Maybe MakeToys should do one so I can buy Prowl and BadCube do another one so I can buy the Smokesceen. That way I would only have unique molds for the Datsuns... ...one can dream.

    I can understand where you coming from. One thing I like of the transformers aesthetic is the re-purposing of parts. Stuff like a jet nose cone has vaguely the shape of a human torso. In my opinion a Transformer where you can't identify parts of his alt-mode is missing something I attributed some of the weirdness in the design of the G1 toys to the toy technology of the 80s where they don't have that much experience with designing transforming toys like they do nowadays.

    Maybe derpy is the wrong word. How about disproportioned? [edit:] I also have to clarify that I'm mostly talking about the Predacons and not Predaking which looks fine. It's fine!

    Padding out my Macross Frontier collection with a YF-25: For completion two VF-171 and two YF-29 as well as a bunch of add-on packs are missing but I don't think I will go for them. Maybe the RVF-171 since it has a unique radar dish.

    I have to clarify my previous statement. I actually like the engineering and from the video the toy seems solidly build since most of the swivel connections seem to be pinned in instead of friction hold in. I also like that they didn't used stickers on the toy from what I could tell. What I meant by terrible looking is the aesthetic. It leans heavily into the G1 toy looks. For me one thing I didn't liked as a kid was that the Transformers toys looked derpy disproportioned compared to the characters in the show and comics. To me even if the quality went down with Transformers toys over the last years they, to me, always looked cool which this doesn't.

    In depth look at Power of the Primes Predaking: To me it is amazing how terrible this looks. After how stellar the Titans Return line was the PotP line looks like two major step back.

    Since Bandai will likely never release the other Gundams from Endless Walz in their Metal Composite line I wonder if the 3rd party companies might do them in 1/100 scale.

    I would say the RX-78 and the Wing Zero Custom are comparable in quality. Sadly the RX-78 doesn‘t come with a stand arm. from what I gathered from reviews of the Unicorn ones, they seem to be of a lesser quality than the Metal Build releases.

    That looks surprisingly solid and the movie has my interest now. I'm liking the new design language of the Transformers. They seem much more solid and humanoid than in the other live action movies. Not a fan of the decision to keep Bumblebees head from the previous movies though. It is the one thing I wished they did away with but you need to keep it for the brand recognition I imagine. Maybe during the story of the movie Bee learns to talk and the pacifier falls off revealing a humanoid face. Oh well I shouldn't get my hopes up too much.

    Well something is weird with NY lately. I haven't received not all messages from them that I should receive. For my VF-31C Super Parts I received a preparation mail last Friday but no communication since. Logged into my account and they showed the order as shipped with a working tracking number and all. So hopefully I will have them next week or so.

    I wish the MB Gundams came with a gantry like that. On the other hand you can pur most of the accessories on the Gundams and I like the visual simplicity of the stands.
