I’m a sucker for black and purple repaints. This will nicely break up the sea of white that is my Metal Build collection. I would habe preferred the Dark Matter Exia from Build Fighters though.

@M'Kyuun, @mikeszekely I have a confession to make: I’m probably a FansToys Maverick apologist. 😋- 9344 replies

In the past they seemed unwilling to do the female characters. Especially in their Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat lines. I mean they could do blue, purple, green, red and light blue female ninjas by just changing the heads but they haven’t done that afaik. Also, like Bandai they never complete a roster from what I can tell. I say all this as a bystander that gained most of his knowledge about Storm though osmosis. 😛

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Scyla replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I’m worried where this series is going. I only watched the first two episodes but with the removal of the goal (i.e. avoiding the doom flags) the show has lost it’s purpose and is now meandering around. In other news I started watching Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S which is still excellent. That makes me happy, even if I don’t like the design of the new dragon Ilulu. In between the seasons I also completed all of My teen romantic Comedy SNAFU which was surprisingly excellent which makes me wonder if I should seek out other shows like it. -

@M'Kyuun I think FansToys Maverick is probably the best version of a transforming (ehm I mean converting) Concorde. It is not perfect by any means but the designer went to great lengths to get as close as possible. So much so that my biggest complaint is that the way the nosecone can’t fold down like on the real Concorde. Since is is also not hindered by the engineering of a torso mode I can recommend him as a stand-alone piece if you are just a fan of jet Transformers. The Dream Star Toys Silverbolt seems to suffer a lot from being a all-in-one combiner and they probably packed a lot of their Superion into him.- 9344 replies

Since Bandai stopped continuing the Street Fighter line I kinda hoped that Storm would do Yuri but that is the wrong costume. Also apparently they are doing Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear Strive. I might be in in those but they are probably never make the ones I want like I-no, Jack-O Dizzy and Baiken… …so basically all the girls.

Oh, so it is being released this year? Didn’t occur to me that it would be that way. I thought 22 meant the year since they weren’t sure if cinemas would be open in Fall 2021. I will definitely go see it on the big screen. Hopefully with popcorn and pop. 😁

You know that the convert not transform. The Transformers gimmick is that they convert from one mode to another. So it is not in their name! 😉😉😉- 17381 replies

K^3 Shattered Glass Optimus Prime looks great. I hope he keeps his August release slot. Jazz looks good too. I wonder if he or Rodimus will be next (they shown a prototype of Rodimus last year I think). I wonder if Jazz will be the same size as their Drift. The Jetfire armor for Prime looks soso. And while I’m liking their Victory Leo only being armor parts is underwhelming. Especially if it carries the same price tag as their other releases.- 17381 replies

Bummer, the deco looks like the one from the first release. I was hoping for the version they showed last year with the Grand Slam and the shield mounted on its back.

Since I only built modern Lego sets in the last couple of years the instructions of these old sets are a different beast. They are super thin, don’t show what pieces you need and there is no steps where only one brick is placed. And they have product shots in the middle of them. If they weren’t there they would be even thinner.
-
I decided to complete my „classics“ Lego Space collection (Futuron - Explorians). Started with a set that I had as a kid but got lost somehow. First time buying used Lego. The bricks fit right into my own childhood ones in terms of quality. No missing or broken pieces and no yellowing. However I need to clean them after I disassemble the set again. Bought also 6956 from the same seller.

Windwaker is my favorite Zelda game. It has some issues, especially after you pick up the Master Sword but I would totally pick that up on the Switch. I still have my GameCube and the disk and the cell shaded look gives it a timeless look but it would be nice having a cleaned up version to play.

Thank you for the review Mike. I’m fairly content with Seaspray 1.0. Maybe I would upgrade if 2.0 goes on deep clearance, but I doubt it.- 9344 replies

My Kuro Kara Kuri Victory Leo arrived today. Took it out of the box, attached all the „stuff“ and took a quick picture. This thing is insanely pointy. I think I need to buy new cotton gloves. Interestingly he has ratchets in his knees which is a first for the line. I couldn’t test articulation yet but because the joints are tight and he is meant to come apart I‘m worried that I might rub off some of the paint, especially with all the extra bits attached. Because he is the worlds most expensive Barbie dress he doesn’t have the cool engineering that the other figures in the line have to facilitate the articulation. The wings and the main guns have some moving and spring loaded pieces but nothing as cool as Drifts knees for example. All in all I don’t know if the juice is worth the squeeze so to speak. On the upside all the beautiful paint is present and he will look good next to the other K3 figures on a shelf. He is also surprisingly solid for an glorified accessory set but I wished he would transform more especially the big feet parts for Star Saber to maybe include a tail and fill out the back spine section.- 17381 replies

Would a WfC style commander class like Star Saber really be worth a HasLab project? I could see a Victory Leo Star Saber two pack though. Maybe a CW Devastator scaled Dinoking/Monstructor with shells?- 17381 replies
