Don't get the one from Yamato.

I agree with you. I think that the wings look more like TF Ramjet:

Armarauders-Toy Line with Comics
Scyla replied to Valkyrie Hunter D's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm on the same page that this toy has everything I want from a collectible. I even like the design. However there are just too much toys coming out that fit in my collection (especially since the Riobot Anubis is due for this month). I think this is a cool item if your toy collection has just a few pieces and not complete lines. For example you have one Optimus Prime and that is enough for your Transformers collection, one SoC, etc. I hope that the toy line gets off the ground and they can produce more toys for the line. It would be very sad if I could pick up this toy next year in a bargain bin. -
Well that is a bummer. I also ordered from HLJ for full price. Oh well I would have missed it anyways.

Maybe it is a VF-4S Hikaru.

Now I can finally see the YF-19 influence. Hopefully we will see more teaser-pictures (official and unofficial) all the way through October.

Shockwave is awesome. From the Back shot the eye seems to be light-piped. Interesting. Not a fan of the light-up gimmick in alt-mide especially if this is the reason why the hose is on the wrong side of the forearm. The arms seem to be symmetrical though so they can probably swing around 180 degree so that the hose is on the backside of the arm. The backpack looks massive. I wonder if there is a strut on the underside of the arms in alt-mode to allow for perfect transformation. Hot Rod looks ok. The chest looks wired from this angle maybe having him in hand will change this. The torso seems to transform the same way as MP-09 which seems to be a deal breaker for many fans. I never mind it on the MP-09 and I don't mind it on this toy as long as the knee joints don't crumble to pieces.- 17164 replies

God please no. That "technology" resulted in some terrible Transformers toys. For Valkyries I would like a transformation rooted in reality. [edit:] I would be all in for ZoE x Macross.- 2715 replies

What I'm saying is that the Yamato VF-19 should be larger in Battroid-Mode. Not just in height but in overall mass. It just looks too stunted compared with the other Valkyries from the M7 line. The main reason is that Yamato went for a cohesive scale in Fighter-Mode so Battroid-Mode is a lacking due to the way it transforms. The VF-19 is the odd man out especially with the glossy finish it just fit well with the other Valkyries. Ok that might be a bit harsh but Bandai managed it better to blend the different Frontier Valks together. They look like they belong together when I look at them on my shelf. Back to topic: Spanner should most definitely buy three VF-17 (one S two D) for his collection.

You really need Diamond Force to finish the M7 display.

Yeah but this just isn't right: (courtesy of jenius from http://www.anymoon.com) According to the M³ the VF-19 should be 15.48m tall in Battroid-Mode and the VF-17 15.82m (the VF-22 15.5m). I know that the VF-19 needs to be that height to get the proportions right and don't have an out of scale Fighter-Mode but it just doesn't look right. The DX Chogokin Valkyries look better together in a group shot.

Unboxing video of the PG Banshee Norn: I have to say I really think the Unicorn/Banshee Norn look fantastic in Unicorn mode. They just not look good transformed into the Destroy mode. Too lanky.

I finally had some quality time with my SRC GaoFighGar this weekend. I'm not a fan of the ball joint in the torso. It just seems to be a but to week for the massive backpack. I also think that the metal in the legs could be a bit less because it is really heave. Gives him a good stand and heft though. Now I'm waiting for my Genesic GaoGaiGar that is sitting in a warehouse at the moment. I try to determine if I want to get the other SRC toys form GaoGaiGar. Bandai never release a transformed Mic Sounders did they?

I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic that they will get it right from the get-go. I think that the YF-30 proofed that Bandai can develop a modern Valkyrie toy with the first iteration. Since the main fighter seems to be an updated YF-30 I think that the DX Chogokin Delta Valkyries (if they exist) will be at least decent. Especially with the VF-30 (or whatever it is called) they have the chance to re-engineer some of the wonky areas of the YF-30. A locking nosecone and upper chest in Battroid-Mode would be a welcome addition. I don't know if I will collect the DX Chogokin Delta Valkyries though. My Frontier collection is quite big and I don't have that much room. The good thing is that it doesn't look like the design will derivate from Frontier that much so I could see myself to buy a VF-30 and Drakenvalk as an addition to my existing collection. I might eat crow for that estimate though.

If this is true I might die from joy instantly.... ...and than wait for the Renewal versions.

No images of the legs? Now that it has the red circles on the head lasers I would like to know if the U.N.SPACY printing on the legs is there.

It's astounding how much better the F-22 looks compared to the YF-22.

Yeah on the model itself. The other Seed kits I haven can store all their major accessories on the model itself and the ones with a Beam Magnum have a peg in the back of the crotch to attach it with the exception of the Aile Strike Gundam.

I never understood what goes into the RE:100 line. At first (seeing the Nightingale) I thought it was reserved for the larger suits that where not possible as a full fledged MG kit. Now I have no idea. Anyhow. I've finished panel lining and sickering my RG Aile Strike and wonder if there is a way to store the gun other than in his manipulators. Any ideas?

It could also be that the craft in the background has two main thrusters like the Typhoon for example but has its Battroid legs placed side by side so it creates the illusion of a single engine aircraft.- 2715 replies

The problem I have with lights and sounds are manifold (to keep it somewhat on topic lets use Quakewave): The light up areas don't look as good when the light is off but I can't have the light on all the time. In fact when the toy is in the display area looking pretty the lights will be off 90% of the time. Quakewaves eye looks dim when not switched on it takes away so much personality from a character that can't express emotions through facial expressions. He looks like a switched off robot instead of an intelligent and scheming individual. The switches for the lights are usually not hidden well. of course there are exceptions like the HotToys Iron Man figures where the switch is hidden behind a panel but on Quakewave it is a black switch that is not hidden well. The battery compartments can potentially damage the toy because the acid inside the batteries can leak. (this is a problem with all battery powered functions). The electronics take up room and hinder the toys in aesthetics, transformation and posing . Case in point Quakewave where the electronics hinder the hose on the arm to be rotated to the back of the arm in robot-mode. It can hinder articulation because of wires inside moving parts The electronics are another component that is prone to breakage. Wit Quakewave you the electronics in the arm can be damaged by sliding the gun in alt-mode position during transformation. On a toy that is both an action figure and a transforming piece you have many parts that move during play which makes the breakage even more likely especially if you have to use thin wire that run inside the pieces and not rely on big sound and light boxes. I can understand the appeal of a light-up area. For example I think that the GN-Drives on the PG 00 are awesome. However in most cases it is not implemented well and ticks of one or more items in the above list. For a feature that is used during a faction of the toys shelf-live the caveats are not worth it for me. I'm ok with the lights on the weapons of the Iron Dibots from Fanstoys because the are pretty unobtrusive (they still have the ugly switch in the handles) and the light-up visor on Feral Rex because it looks almost black when not light up and the switch is nicely hidden. However I think both toys would have benefited in the design if the LEDs where omitted. In addition the extra costs for the electronics could have been invested into more paint apps or a higher parts count. I don't think that a transforming toy need electronics because they have so much packed into them (2+ modes, a puzzle and an action feature). So what do you think about LEDs in transforming toys. Help me to understand their appeal.- 17164 replies

I'm sorry I don't seem forward swept wings. To me it looks more like the wings on the Firefox where the angle of the wing tips is less steep than on the rest of the wing: The spine an canards look like the YF-30 to me. The canards are less pronounced and not at an angle like on the promo image but they are at the same position where the YF-19 has them behind the cockpit in the main spine. The engines look also more like the YF-30 because they are missing the tail fins an the shoulder pauldrons.- 2715 replies
