  1. I hate lights and sounds with a vengeance. I hate lights and sounds with the intensity of a thousand suns! *rage* Please Takara make Shockwave with a nicely painted eye. I promise to buy your products in the future if you hear my pleads.
  2. Can someone explain to me where you get the YF-19 vibe from?
  3. The funny thing is I can name more webshops from the top of my head that sell unlicensed transforming toys than fully licensed PT Valkyries from Arcadia. Of course I don't live in Japan so I can't tell what the situation is over there in regards of brick and mortar stores and other web shops that don't export items. However the information given in this thread seems to indicate that the distribution outside of online retailers is pretty sparse.
  4. Are the suits around the RG Zero the other Endless Waltz RG kit?
  5. Lovely Shockwave toy. And it seems to be different than FansToys Quakewave so no need for them to sue Takara over the design.
  6. And I thought that we are looking at the underside of the second craft in the background. Hopefully the VF-30ish Valkyrie is the default protagonist craft from episode one that gets upgrades in weapon pods and armor parts during the first half of the series and than switch to a completely new Valkyrie in the last third of the series. Sadly toy manufacturers don't seem to be the only sponsor for the show. I love the blue color scheme of the Valkyrie in the foreground (yay Max). On the other hand the preview pictures of Frontier also showed a white VF-25 with blue highlights so that might be something that gets changed for the show. If the craft in the background is a Variable Fighter that only has a single exhaust nozzle (that splits into two parts for the Gerwalk-/Battroid-Mode) it would be a welcome change in the VF design. Hopefully we get a DX Chogokin toy out of it. I'm pessimistic about that since it might be the craft of the main antagonist and we know how much Japan hates making merchandise based on them.
  7. I'm not sure this is a YF-30 because the tailfin position is different so I assume it is a VF-30.
  8. So it this image showing a VF-30 or not? It looks like the YF-30 airframe to me.
  9. I don't think this is a invalid observation. If you look at HotToys releases there where few toys released over the year. Now every major Hollywood geek flick has a full line of Hot Toys (or 3A) figures and they are on their way to release all 42 Iron Man suits from Iron Man 3. Transformers Masterpieces release where only 9 major releases (from 5 molds). Since MP-10 we have around one release each quarter of the year. After it ended with the VF-19ADVANCE there was one Frontier Valkyrie released each month. And the unlicensed transforming toy business has so many release that you have to pick and choose carefully. For example the FansToys Iron Dibots come in four variations (standard release, premium paint job, G2 Dinobot colors, Diaclone and in some cases toy accurate colors). When I got into toy collection there was maybe one release each quarter that I was interested in and I still have the same focus on my collection (Masterpiece TFs, 1/60 Valkyries, 3rd part TFs). So at least from my point of view there are a much greater variety of toys that battle for my attention. If this observation is true for other collectors than Arcadia has a much harder time to sell their products because people spend their money on other products if you compare now to a situation 5 years ago.
  10. I've read a couple of days ago on the TFW boards that the initial run of the MMC Feral Rex Combiner (a 3rd party Not Predaking) was 6000 pieces. Since Feral Rex is one of the most popular 3rd party items (that are also a niche inside the niche of adult Transformers collectors but with a much wider appeal) if not the most popular combiner set (according to a TFW poll) I would assume that the first run of VF-0D could be a 6000 units max. So going by that if your assumption of 50 to 100 units are correct there would be 60 stores that have offered the VF-0D to customers if we assume every store ordered 100 units. I assume the number of stores would be higher since not every store would order 100 units (especially not the ones in Hong Kong like angolz and hkcollectibles) but lets stay to the number of 60 shops. Now is it reasonable to assume that this many shops actually offering Arcadia products? From what I gathered in this thread it would be hard to come up with even that number since Arcadias products are not sold on a regular bases in brick and mortar stores. So from the information presented in this thread I would assume that the initial run of the VF-0D was (much) smaller than 6000 units. I know it is dangerous to make such assumptions since we don't know specifics and I can only extrapolate data from the information (not facts) presented on Macross World and other boards so this hole post might be in vain.
  11. Isn't it odd that the Red Frame is a Tamashii Webshop release and the Gold Frame is not? Thanks for the info. It will be much easier to acquire if it its a webshop exclusive release.
  12. Yikes. What does the text say? Preorders starting on October the 30th? I'm hyped by the images. Nothing is more bad-ass than a giant robot drawing its own weapons out of the holsters/sheaths.
  13. Now I'm curious to know what you would get from the seller for that amount of money. A knock-off, a gashapon version of the toy, nothing. Someone need to order these! I'm way too scared about my credit card credentials to even visit the site.
  14. For me it is also 1+3 I'm not unhappy with the pricing per se (not too happy either but I do understand where the price is coming from) but rather the fact that Arcadia omitted major printings which should have been included. The missing clear parts in the wings are also a bummer. That in combination with several qc issues like the misaligned intake markings, the glued shut hip joints and parts not glued in correctly (turbine detail in the feet) lessens my enjoyment of the Arcadia toys somewhat.
  15. Since the SoC Gunbuster seems to be readily available I decided that I need it in my collection (awesome reasoning isn't it?). Is there anything to watch out for like easily breakable parts or problems in the joints/transformation? Would you say that the SoC Gunbuster is a toy worth owning if you can only have one transforming Soul of Chogokin toy in your collections or are there other toys that translate the SoC design philosophy better?
  16. So I guess you are not into clown noses are you?
  17. Just watch one episode of M7 a week.
  18. What worries me is that for MP Hot Rodimus the old designer is on the helm of Transformers Masterpiece development. And we all know how well the design went for MP-09. So please Kobayashi deliver something decent. I've listened to the TFW1005 podcast lately and they already said that MP Ironhide looks to be a letdown after all the Carbots designed by Hasui. I guess MP Tracks could be already a Kobayashi design so lets see how this one looks once I have it in hands. If you want a MP Reflector I would go with MakeToys Visualizers or FansToys Spotter Takara will never do a Decepticon ever again if it isn't a repaint of an Autobot. I wonder who green-lit MP Soundwave.
  19. Scyla

    Hi-Metal R

But if it is a web exclusive you can just order as many as you want and Bandai will make them for you.
  20. I've seen this also but I don't have the skill to make it look that good. I also like all the engineering Sentinel puts into its releases so I would be interested in seeing those.
  21. Wouldn't it be funny that they can't cut the series into 16:9 because otherwise they would show the camera/sound crew that filmed SDF:M and the extras that wait for their entrance.
  22. Hey did you ever think that Metal Gear Rex should transform into a robot. If so look at this (from http://www.collectiondx.com/news_item/91715/riobot_metal_gear_sahelanthropus_metal_gear_solid_v_phantom_pain) At first I thought that it looks stupid.... ....after a while I thought that the "Rex"-mode looks cool and that it would be nice to have a Metal Gear Rex since even the half size edition from 3A is super expensive.... ...and than I looked at the price Sentinel (38k Yen) is asking for this one... ...and I came to the conclusion... ...for merely 19k Yen more I can get both a Metal Gear Rex and Ray from 3A.
  23. I always thought this is a hand painted and stickered prototype of the mold to validate the fit of the parts and to have a paint master for the assembly line. Naturally this paint master wouldn't have printed markings on it. There will be probably an image once the factory produced the run that shows this in its final state. It will probably have printed skull logos and no U.N.SPACY markings on the legs.
  24. Veef mentioned this in one of his Valkyrie reviews that it would be nice if those toys where constructed in a way that allows for easy maintenance. I second his thought. A toy that could be disassembled in to his parts would greatly help with fixing all the issues that result from mass production. On the other hand this would probably result in less screw hole covers and bigger seam lines.
