    I asked the same question before, kurisama was planning to work on the parts but later decided not to pursue it (forgot why). nobody else picked it up later. could be because the thin profile of the triangle made it not feasible for shapeway parts tolerance, unless buyers are willing to sand down the parts to make them fit. That gave me enough reason to avoid the toy. Too bad, the paint scheme looks really good in both fighter and battroid, but had to be avoided due to poor plastic quality. Been thinking to get alto's, but the paint scheme just doesnt do it for me. If my memory serves me right, Yamato's 0A exploding arms & VF-1 shoulders were the worst prevalent QC that had ever happened in post-diecast Macross toys, but seems like even those pale in comparison to Bandai's exploding triangles, seeing how frequent the triangles been breaking on this toy. And no news of a re-release.. -sigh-

    Lol. Kinda reminds me of my frustrations transforming my vf-22s back to fighter mode. Never attempt transforming a new valk in the middle of the night, unless if you are a super cool dude who never frustrates over anything. Treat the valk gently and never force any mechanism unless if you are very very veeeryy sure it will not break anything. If it wouldnt budge, lay the valk to rest, drink plenty of water, watch a movie, play a sport, take breather, eat out, enjoy life, then re-attempt transforming it again. Repat the whole process several times and eventually, either the valk or you will yield (aka give up). OK that was just an unfunny joke. AnywayS, just relax and send us more pictures surrounding the problematic areas/mechanisms, and someone on the board normally would be able to help by scribbling some notes/pointers/arrows on the pictures you took. Just ordered my first 25 valk and will see how I'll fare, solving this mechanical puzzle.

    ditto. with an exception to the JM, I dont see the attraction to man-dolls and cutesy little figure.. for me JM is unique, and mainly because it has perfect transformation in a smaller package and the fact its an old 80's toy that was built to last. Well, if they release non transforming mechas like regult/Q-rau/destroids/Nos-ger, I might grab a set just to display with the JM...but deformed rick and deformed non-transforming VF-1? I'll pass.

    yea, they shouldve diversified their line by making glaug/regult/zentraedi soldiers/never-seen-before-sculpts-but-popular-enough for their cheaper toy lineup

    the sculpt looks Ben10-ish (rick) BTW, I thought they have long ditched the 1/100 line (since Maiden Japan departure from Toynami) Man I wished they had at least released the glaug, GBP-armor and the VE-1, VT-1, VF-1D that they showed before kicking the 1/100 variants bucket. At least the GBP armor, because they look pretty good and can be used on the current VF-1 lines.

    I think I'll hold out a bit more till april-may and use my $40 sumthing ebay bucks to get it on ebay instead. some hk sellers are selling them for $70-ish price..hopefully they'll still be there comes april.

    Oh yea, almost forgot back in the days (2003-2004) I was searching for different macross planes, the YF-23 came out in the search, when I was incrementally increasing the number after every YF and VF (i.e YF-21, 22, 23...lol). Thanks for the heads up, now watching some awesome YF-23 videos

    Comparing the pictures, the YF-21/VF-22 looks more similar to the Sukhoi, and its as if the YF-30 is an incarnate of the YF-21/VF-22...

    Its a conspiracy! Theyre making design choices that forces v1 owners to buy multiples to display in battroid and fighter! : (1) better/stubbier legs for battroid than v1 (2) modified wing mechanism (for high speed maneuver) with payload wing-mounts for fighter (can't mount the payloads on v1 wings) There you have it. Two is the min. Now, where did I put my tin hat..

    this thread makes me wonder if anyone had attempted to paint the VF-1 kit with YF-19 paint scheme? (or an Isamu VF-1) point being, Isamu may as well be a cash cow, just like Ozma, for Macross franchise.
