  1. Due to its age/lore, I think the VF-0 "works best" with real-world schemes. I'll be happy to see what you come up with. (plus VF-111 has the best markings ever)
  2. TLDR: It's not perfect (and never will be at this scale) but almost every aspect is better than the previous one.
  3. They simply give you an extra pair of black curved slopes, to swap as needed. You can see one in the trunk. (with a gold 1x2 attached)
  4. Yup, that's pretty much a must-buy for me. While I am one of many who think Robin would be a better choice, a Romero Joker is a nice fig, even has 'stache printing. Maybe they plan a Robin/Batgirl set? 60's Batgirl with her Batcycle is an obvious companion set for this, and Robin is the only logical second figure for it. And then everyone he would be "forced" to buy it, to "complete" their Batmobile...
  5. I think the original rudder looks fat, so any attempts to slim it are a good thing. Interestingly, this photo confirms my suspicion----the name on the real thing "wraps around a corner". I suspect that if you trimmed the excess border, the original sticker may actually fit, if you just "go for it" and place it how it should be, angles be damned: (also, while the wing does have an upper surface airfoil profile front to back, it's pretty dead flat root to tip)--- (and really, the upper surface doesn't even quite curve, it pretty much just slopes at a constant angle) Fat leading edge, thinner at the rear, and straight lines to make that happen.
  6. Am I the only one bugged by the hump over the gear? I'm strongly considering just some plates/tiles instead. ::edit:: And those hump-pieces will NOT work for Columbia's scheme. (otherwise the wings should be quite easy to switch----swapping out two tiles and the 3x12 wedge plate for black ones will be just about perfect color-wise, the only remaining issue is the actual markings) ::edit 2:: Oooh, look what I found: https://www.brickstickershop.com/Precut-Custom-Replacement-Stickers-for-Lego-Space-Shuttle-Orbiter-Rebrickable-MOC-46228-(transparant) Wrong size, but EXACTLY what's needed. I just emailed them asking if they could upscale them for the new set. It's got enough to do every shuttle and era.
  7. Everything forward of the wing gives me a strong YF-23 vibe at that angle.
  8. I've dealt with a guy who makes really nice stickers (pre-cut even) printed on clear material for MOCs----he only does race cars at the moment AFAIK, but I plan to ask him about a set for the shuttle. It doesn't need much, just clear-backed versions of "NASA" and "Discovery", and a Canadarm. (plus the other shuttle names). I may also try the guy I get train-MOC stickers from. Luckily the "big left-wing printed tile" works for all shuttles except Columbia. (though Columbia is my fave, so that's my eventual goal) Fun fact: shuttle names are done in Helvetica, so it's easy to replicate perfectly.
  9. You rang? https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-73206/NG_Design/space-shuttle-10283-upgrade-tank-and-booster-scale-170/#details (I do note they made the boosters identical-----the left one always has one more stripe)
  10. Yeah, the angle/shape of the tail is probably my biggest issue with it too. (ignoring that the whole fuselage should be longer/sleeker). But most all Lego sets have "selective compression" to some degree. Pro-tip: the silver pieces do have quite a bit of variance. Reserve the "good" ones for the top of the Hubble. :edit: Pro-tip 2: the side with the NASA logo, is actually the bottom, most of the time it's displayed. (guess who just had to swap around all the silver parts)
  11. "A similar toy of equal value" has been Hasbro's most common solution to TF's missing parts since at least RiD. (RiD 2001, not 2015). Actually getting parts or the same figure happens, but don't expect it. Sometimes they do "go up a size" and will replace your deluxe with a voyager, etc. But again---you might already have it.
  12. If there was ever a figure that deserved an improved, oversized KO...
  13. I ordered the Paris set last week, to build up enough VIP points ahead of time for the extra shuttle satellite---and of course the satellite's not available. :P Started building Paris, and it's missing a 1x3 arch. I think that's the largest missing piece in my experience----little 1x1 plates (and technic pins, etc) weigh so little I'm not surprised they can be missed occasionally, and they usually have a spare anyways. But a 1x3 brick? New to me. Ordered shuttle, so I'll have plenty of VIP points for when the satellite does arrive. Will probably use remaining points to help fund the 60's Batmobile. (Officially out on April 26 I think)
  14. If at all possible for your party to split up a bit, being a "single rider" at WDW is like having the golden ticket. Even on rides without dedicated single-rider lines, you will often see cast members looking/asking for them---and I have skipped entire queue-rooms because of it. Gates opened, ropes dropped, just for me. Because I was the only single rider they could find out of the 100 people ahead of me...
  15. Mulan wasn't that long a wait between Premiere and "regular" Disney Plus. I suspect a similar timeframe for Raya. But neither are MCU, so...
  16. Imagine how much better Maverick will look after they paint that sample.
  17. A smidge off-topic, but it IS Takara-Tomy, so not 3P. Slowly acquiring my MP action-master Rail Racer. (I'm kinda surprised they haven't done Midnight Express, that's a fairly common and popular type. I expect it some day. It's Rapid Run I fear may never get released in this line) https://www.tomytec.co.jp/tomix/firstcarmuseum.html
  18. So Unicron is basically the same engineering as the original Leader Movie Jetfire? (I actually did try to separate the two, and if not for one pin/part on the upper spine that was IMPOSSIBLE to remove, I could have had a separate robot, and SR-71 toys...)
  19. I can't figure out what 32 is either. They're certainly slime-light-esque in shape and design, but the color is so off, and valks generally don't have them at all. They're light green when on, and beige-sand when off (NOT bright yellow, like every Hasegawa kit ever would have you believe). Never dark green.
  20. Kawamori is an F-15 fan, and the current hotness is the F-15EX, the upgraded F-15E (though really more like a replacement for the D?). So VF-31AX for upgraded VF-31A? And we could call it Stormbreaker...
