  1. Thanks for giving me a chuckle today folks!
  2. At the end when roy says he is sick that ivanov made what he is today... Makes me wish there was a focker origin story....not sure if there would be transforming valks though, but still, perhaps valks could be fitted in somewhere?
  3. MA-KU-ROS is easier to pronounce.
  4. Yums, something to hide the fact the orange is a different shade! except that lil folded backpack tail..
  5. I like prefect transformation too, but more because, i don't want to dig out parts. So the legs detaching at the bar during transformation dont bother me, in fact i think helps in reducing stress on the swing bar joints during transformation like you said.
  6. also available at your friendly neighborhood blog...http://anymoon.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2019/01/Bandai-DX-VF-1-Instructions.pdf

    Bandai DX VF-31

Only just because i don't want to wait so long! Since i like the elvis version and also like variety in my valk collection, a white pope would be the best of both worlds! You can have it, but not before an elvis DX first plz! We needs a corresponding fighting Elvis for Kieth to pair off with...

    Bandai DX VF-31

To kill 2 birds with one stone, i would like an elvis BA draken pls.
  9. IMHO, i don't think it was in bandai's initial plan to make the 1/55 last forever. Like companies in the 80's it's all about how much merchandise to sell. (which hasn't changed much) Maybe due to the materials and technology they had available then and were familiar with, could be just a product of the time. Generally, I dont think toys nowadays will last as much as before. It would be down to individual awareness and care given to maintaining the toy, which determines more how long toy's last.... and in this i hang my head in shame as i did not take care of my old chunkies, as such they now have broken parts ....
  10. I sort of get what treatment is trying to ask, i.e. how much changes have bandai made(copied?) to their own line, since the 1/48 is a touted successor to the 1/55.. However i think there isnt much left to compare, if you exclude the pricing, looks and articulation...
  11. You summed up everything(?) that is different, am not sure what else is there to say. Should we be comparing it critically since its been 35 years? The 1/55 has history(read old school charm) in its corner, whereas the 1/48 has modern looks and articulation.
  12. +1
  13. Dat giant tenjin picture is crazy cool too! Suitable for a macross room!
  14. Awesome! What a happy coincidence that battroid mode fits in the cockpit! now do one with the KC Hikaru pilot sitting on a 1/48 DX! Or standing facing the battroid!
  15. One thing's for sure one must have 3 DX's to test with...heheh....but yes very curious to know if a stand can take 3 DX VF-1...
  16. Yups! The A-stance of this DX gerwalk is such a beast that it looks like it would take up the whole shelf floor. With the wings spread, and toes pointing forward, rocking the valk back onto the heels (due to the heavy metal feet and solid ankles), gerwalk is gonna be hard to fit with fighter and battroid on the same shelf plane. Spanner solved this by having fighter go under the extra plastic shelf.
  17. yums! Looks like there is still space around them to not make the shelf look too crowded. However i thk with its size, this must be the only arrangement available to you, ie gerwalk needs to be on a pedestal.
  18. Wow what a gunpod rack! Erm i mean as in the novel way to store away the gunpod.......no offense plz!. no hairline crack near the front top intakes of my copy. And kudos to your presentation portions on the comparisons! Impeccably done with nice transition and overlay of graphics!

    BANDAI DX YF-19!!

Its late, past midnight and am still up watching the dogfight between isamu and guld over again for the umpteenth time... And happened to wish for a gimmick i never tot i wanted till now...collapsing leg thrusters....
  20. Now, thats just silly. Oh....pardon me...i didnt see your ministry..
  21. The record-keeping on valk toy history is inspiring! Well thats what my thumbs up were for anyway! Oh unless you thought i gave 2 thumbs up for the downvotes? I guess its good i mentioned what the thumbs up is then!
  22. 1/48 VF-25 will do more than knock socks off, the wallet too would be blasted to oblivion...esp with a corresponding armor pack! But I cant imagine myself collecting too many 1/48's either. As it is with collecting, sometimes you end up with more than you originally planned for. Hope that bandai does do vermillion squadron though. I will cross the bridge of evaluating my purchasing decisions ie budget along the way.
  23. Hmm all this talk abt color, I really wouldn’t mind an angel birds scheme in 1:48 DX...but I know that would be some time before that is even feasible...bandai gotta cycle through the fan favourite valks first right.. Now the difficult thing is waiting for the next 1/48 DX..
  24. Remove the arm from the base and turn it around. The arm wont go in all the way back into the base, but at least you have the lettering pointed the same direction.
