  1. Speaking of English in DYRL, Conda and Warera were both played by native English speakers despite the fact that their lines were either in Zentradi or Japanese. Though, I imagine they delivered some of the actual English dialog in the movie as well. I know one of the actors, Kent Gilbert was already a fairly well-known celebrity in Japan when DYRL was made. According to IMDB both actors also played the same characters in ADV's dub of Macross.
  2. I've actually seen quite a few of the new ones around. For a while, I used to see one every day, but that was at a Nissan dealership that I pass on my way to work.
  3. It could just be that the 11th fleet exclusively speaks English, whereas the Frontier and other fleets speak a large variety of languages.
  4. That's pretty awesome that the UN was able to find 20 factory satellites in such a short time period.
  5. It could be possible that the Angels can look at each other safely as long as they aren't actually looking at each other's faces.
  6. I thought it was pretty interesting that it wasn't just air traffic dialog in DYRL that was in English. The transformation warning as well as the scramble orders when the Meltrandi folded in were also in English.
  7. This is correct. There's a series of 17 monsters that the Titan sends you to kill.
  8. Got it, thanks, Talos!
  9. Looks like I'm out of luck for Macross Ace 4. This is the first one that I missed due to the fact that the friend that usually gets it for me left Japan a few days before it was released. The only place that I can find it online is Amazon in Japan, but none of the sellers will ship internationally. I was considering heading up to New York to check out the Kinokuniya there, but I'm too afraid that it'll be a wasted trip.
  10. He also owns a '90 R32 GT-R. I actually saw it a few months ago, but wasn't sure if it was an actual R32 or just a heavily modded 240SX. According to him, there's about a dozen or so R32-R34 GT-Rs currently in NJ. Sadly, I'm not one of the owners.
  11. That's only because you only see him when he's filming! You're getting the actor mixed up with the character!
  12. My day was totally made today when I saw an R34 Skyline GT-R not too far from my house. I was able to speak to the guy who owns it and was quite surprised to find that he actually lived locally.
  13. I love Nakano Broadway! I'm also a little biased since a friend of mine actually owns a little video shop there.
  14. Yep, Danguard, you can get over 9999 HP. In my playthrough of the Japanese version of the game, my characters had from 15-26,000 HP. Hope was on the low end of that range with 15447 HP, while Snow was at the top with 26134 HP.
  15. You know, I don't think I ever watched the extras in the AnimEigo set. Guess that'll teach me, huh?
  16. The battroid mode looks just fine to me.
  17. I never, ever got that impression, nor did I ever see it suggested anywhere, SIGHUP.
  18. What the heck is it with all the virtual sets on this show? All the scenes aboard the mothership look really, really weird with the noticeable difference between the characters and mothership interiors.
  19. It's not that I stopped posting events from the timeline, it's just that I'm not in a rush to post an update if the events are just given a general month.
  20. To answer your question, taksraven, the hottest companion to me is definitely Amy Pond.
  21. I swear some people have no shame when it comes to the things they'll put on their vehicles. Today I saw a minivan with a miniature putting green on its hood. I wonder if the flag had a hole number on it or not. I just wish that I was able to take a picture of it.
  22. Nooo, apparently, my friend left Japan before volume 4 was released. Looks like I may have to make a trip to the NYC Kinokuniya store.
  23. I'm pretty sure that we won't ever see the RLAM come to fruition. If it does, I expect it to go straight to video.
