I've always had respect for Star Blazers, as they didn't really change Yamato too drastically. As you said, Gubaba, it is mentioned in the end credits as being "Space Cruiser Yamato". Plus, one of the other things that makes me respect Star Blazers is that they actually kept the original musical score. It was also the only show that I can remember that actually had new English lyrics that didn't sound incredibly cheesy set to the original opening theme music.

Yes, sketchley, PS1 games are region coded on the PS3. I just stuck one of my Japanese PS1 games in my PS3 and it was region restricted. PS3 games, however don't have the region restriction, at least not for US/Japanese games.

I wouldn't say that the con is hurting, it's always been a small, fairly local convention. I'm guessing that since they only mention McKeever, the rest of the Robotech tour isn't stopping there. Looks like I'm not stopping there, either, as I just noticed that the con conflicts with another event I plan to attend on the opposite side of the country.

My first Gundam model was the original 1/100 release of the RX-93 Nu-Gundam. I bought it sometime in 89, if I recall correctly.

Actually, though, it's Jeebers that thinks that the Macross timeline is a mess. I don't really see how, but it seems that by removing Macross II from the Studio Nue continuity, you create a mess out of the entire Macross franchise. They can't seem to understand the reasons for Macross II not being part of the main Macross timeline.
