Favorite VF pilot? (not necessarily the best)
Beltane70 replied to Xx-SKULL-ONE-xX's topic in Movies and TV Series
I voted for Maximilian Jenius. I love his ungodly ability in a Valkyrie, not to mention that he had a really cool voice. My second favorite is Milia. -
2010 wasn't too bad of a year. I got to go to Japan, and any year that I get to go to Japan is a good one in my book!

It's always so weird to see how much Mikimoto's art style has changed in the 29 years since Macross first aired. It also never ceases to amaze me how many old Macross illustrations seem to show up that I haven't seen before!

Mobile Suit Gundam 00 - >>Season 2 + Movie<<

Good to hear that people seemed to enjoy the movie! I haven't seen it yet, and I was a bit scared to after hearing the negative press. It wouldn't have stopped me from seeing it, though. -

It's not a Jiffylube, just a local oil change place. The only reason I take my car there is because it's quick and I get my car washed for free. As far as I can rememer, my owner's manual doesn't even say anything about fuel or emissions system cleanings. -
That again? I was in that argument over at RT.com. I remember posting the official stats of both the VF-1 and VF-11, but was told "Macross fans will make up anything to support their claims." just because the translated stats were taken from an English-language fansite. I just wound up stopping posting in the middle of the argument and I'm pretty sure in their eyes, they claimed it as their own victory.

I'm afraid to admit that I don't change my own oil (I'm much too lazy). Now I'm pretty sure that I've heard that these things are rip-offs, but I figured I'd ask to be sure. The place that I take it to always tries to sell me either a fuel system or emissions system cleaning. I always refuse since in the two years I've owned the car, I haven't seen a difference in its performance or fuel economy. -

The best thing about the whole video was the Genesis beating the three other cars in the quarter mile. -

That's not a Lexus, silly, it's a Hyundai Genesis coupe. -

Funny that you mentioned that, jenius. I just ordered an i7 950, motherboard, and memory last night. I hate to admit it, but I only upgraded my computer this past July. -
I always love hearing about the EMALS and was pretty excited when I saw the news earlier this afternoon. I was actually planning on posting a link to the story myself if it wasn't already posted. I have to admit that I am a bit biased since Lakehurst is only 20 minutes away from where I live. Despite passing the base everyday on my way to work, I have never seen any of the aircraft flying around there.

The question is, what do they consider affordable? -
That was a very interesting read, David. I found the fact that they couldn't get the no. 1 engine to shutdown particularly interesting. I always wonder how many people are turned off to air travel when incidents like this occur.

Do cars with automatic transmissions take longer to slow down than cars with manual transmissions when you take your foot off of the gas? I ask because I see a lot of drivers hitting their brakes when they see the cars behind them slowing down, when I usually just take my foot off of the gas and hardly ever touch the brakes. It's been so long since I've driven a car with an automatic transmission that I can't even remember! -
Yep, I did mean MG. Oops!

I finally saw the US version of Top Gear. I only have two words to say: NO PERSONALITY. The show was way to dull. Even the Stig segment was unexciting. I know I won't be watching it again, and I'm pretty lenient when it comes to TV shows! -
Actually, he does fall under condition one. He does have a picture of the part still on its runner and in the unsealed plastic bag. The defect is definitely visible in that picture. I wish I knew about this when I got my PG Hi-Nu. It wasn't a big deal, but my kit was missing the clear parts used to give the fin-funnels the illusion that they're flying.

While the new GT-R is no where near as good looking as the ones that came before it, I still like the looks of it enough that I'd definitely buy one if I could afford to. I need a much, much better job! -

I would if I could afford it! -
Yeah, I don't recall seeing those KLFs in the anime, either and I've seen the series about four times now.
-
I really like what they did with I'm also really loving Shammie's new design in this manga, especially her off-duty outfit.

It's not that I dislike Nanase, I do like her character, it's just that her lack of appearance didn't seem to affect the movie at all.
-
I just got 5 and 6 earlier this evening. As always, Macross The First was worth the wait.
-
I've always liked the music of M7 more than I like the series itself. This still holds true today, some 16 years later.
-
You know, until someone mentioned it, I didn't even notice that Nanase was missing! Plus, the movie also had me liking Ranka a lot more, even though I already liked her.
