    Some parts of it, sure... like the cockpit, which is why the Toynami figure doesn't fit. It's also awkwardly-proportioned and malformed -- like any MEP prototype -- so it's difficult to establish a definite scale.

    If you lack the skill or inclination to build model kits, getting the pre-built car has clear advantages... but if you're looking to save money, the model kit's considerably cheaper and more readily available. As it's molded in color, and the figures come pre-painted either way, there aren't any significant differences.

    I sought out the tie-in novels just to find out who the hell the "First Order" were, and where they'd come from... since JJ provided no exposition whatsoever. Star Wars: Bloodline provided some political backstory, but... it really wasn't worth the time to read.

    The original 7-part OAV series (otherwise known as "The Early Days"). Brilliant stuff, top-notch writing and direction.

    You guys are surprisingly generous with the prequels. Is there a good story to be found there? Probably, but it's buried under a mountain of dismal writing and miserable acting. Most of the performances are so distractingly bad, and the dialogue so inept, that it's impossible the appreciate the structure of the plot they're hung on. Liam Neeson and Ian McDiarmid do incredible work, but they're left adrift by the rest of the cast. Even reliable actors like Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman and Christopher Lee come off as bland and unconvincing, upstaged by CGI characters like Yoda and Jar Jar. Perhaps children of the '90s, who grew up with these films, have difficulty eyeing them critically (the same way children of the '80s accept the Ewoks unapologetically). The sequel trilogy is far more infuriating, I think, because the story and writing fails to support the stellar work of the cast. The performances are much better across the board, the principal characters are more engaging, and the dialogue is functional, but the characters have no agency. They are jerked around by the machinations of the plot, and the only influence they have on the story seems to be at the behest of The Force (or rather, The Mouse). The plot happens around them, not because of them. I consider both the Prequel Trilogy and the Sequel Trilogy to be failures, but -- ironically enough -- for completely different reasons.

    Oh, Doomcock loved Alita: Battle Angel. His YouTube review raved about the film. Of course, every compliment he delivers in that disingenuous voice sounds like sarcasm, so it's rather self-defeating.

    The "Archive" figures are just older Black Series figures repackaged. They've got superior paint app's, for the most part, but they're otherwise the same figures as previously released.

    Wow, this series just took a considerable step down in quality. "Night Shift" was much weaker than the previous entries, both creatively and technically. The actors were less than convincing, the dialogue was poor, and the production design was cheap and ugly; in fact, this one looks like it was produced for a mere fraction of the budget for the earlier shorts. The camerawork, lighting, and editing were equally amateurish, nowhere near the level of craftsmanship demonstrated by the first two episodes. What happened?

    I was teaching business English to a doctor at 4pm, and then a private class for an elementary schoolboy at 5... and I was on my phone refreshing Web pages constantly during both classes. I maintained a professional demeanor and engaged with the students throughout the lessons, but in the back of my mind I was screaming “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR, AMAZON?”

    Honestly, as someone who constantly obsesses about scale, I insist on getting figures and vehicles that match their onscreen depictions in media. Hi-Metal R does exactly that, as reliably and consistently as any toyline ever has; even more consistently than the animation itself, I would add. Those of you who argue about the relative scale of Zentradi mecha based on cockpit sizes and pilot height seem to be forgetting a key aspect of Zentradi physiology: they can alter their physical size at will. They have the technology. Trying to estimate the average height for a Zentradi pilot is not only impossible, it's irrelevant.

    Oh, wow. I was so taken aback by the absent legs, I hadn't even noticed those attachment points. Yes, that's precisely where the Tread would connect with the Legioss... in Armo-Fighter mode, at least. I don't know what Sentinel thinks they're doing, but they're completely ignoring the 35-year legacy of Mospeada toys. The fighter mode is supposed to have the legs hanging off the back, not tucked in like the animation design... and you're supposed to provide a lousy sticker sheet, not print tampographed details on the toy. And what's with the navigation lights on the wings? You don't paint details like that on a Legioss toy. Most insulting of all, it looks like they've engineered the fighter with built-in attachment points for a Tread, which is totally against the spirit of the Legioss design. Have they no respect for tradition? The Tread is supposed to be an awkwardly-designed afterthought, with no secure way of connecting it to the Legioss. How arrogant and presumptuous they must be to plan these things out in advance. Who do they think they are, Bandai?
