Your most recent Macross or toy purchase! General thread.

working all day with gloves [and the handwashing habit you develop in medicine], I usually just wash my hands to handle my growing [] collection, for fear of greasy nerd-finger-related consequences I only use gloves for model building or grody housework... -
maybe that's why Chuck'll end-up being last? they haven't come up with a satisfactory way to do implement it?

as a medical professional I am intimately familiar with nitrile gloves... [the ones I use are all by Ansell for reference sake] If dexterity and touch-sensation are super important to you: you can find ones that say "phlebotomy" or "medical examination", the texture is completely different, and they are very soft [they also tend to be sexy purple]. they also fit a little tighter; going a size-down from your actual hand-size turns them into compression gloves.... and if you get "exam" gloves make sure your hands are 101% dry before you try to put them on... the blue ones are fine, but just a little thicker [microns of difference, but you CAN feel it] and more krinkely... but depending on your nail situation the blue ones may be better [tougher/thicker fingertips] as the thinner ones are more delicate. I have no experience with black nitrile... judging by what's on them for info they'll be about the same as the blue kind... perhaps tougher/made for longer use? as long as they say food-grade they shouldn't be any worry. BTW: don't use nitrile for acetone or acetate... you'll end up with no glove very quickly. -
no, they want you to buy it so you can get the clips to add the Lil' Drakens to any VF-31...

No no no, It'll be fine, the F-111 will make a great Fleet-Defense fighter in addition to airforce bomber, right?!

I wondered who else I may have to contend with... at least I think I know what's not on your list -

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Macross-Yamato-Arcadia-1-60-VF-22S-Sturmvogel-7-Max-blue-bandai/123144653856?hash=item1cabfe4c20:g:45wAAOSwwcdbAbNc Just sayin' that if it's going to sell for that little, it may as well sell to you. -
And design a lift-fan system for the 'B, and then completely revamp the avionics and attempt to develop a helmet-mounted cuing system that also allows [was to allow?] the pilot multi-phase visuals/targeting through the cockpit itself in 360 degrees, and an all-aspect multi-phase threat warning system, and, and, and.... they got a little ambitious with Electronics and were in the fortunate position to be able to scale-down a raptor to the size they thought they needed... My suspicion is this will all prove to have been another misguided attempt to shove too many missions into an air-frame... I guess we'll find out soon if it worked or not...

+1... I keep telling myself that I saved a bunch of money by missing the PO's... yet I find myself regularly checking all the usual haunts to see if one comes up
-
as someone with past experience of Hasegawa, Imai, Arii and Bandai [old, not their new transformable] 1/72 vf-1's... a 'Definitive' version will be a tall order... I wish them Luck too, because I'll gladly hold onto the cash they almost pried out of me for some Tomcats for a VF-1... or maybe even a couple depending on schemes....... If they hit us with tomcat-squadron schemes out-of-the-gate I may be in trouble their F-14s do look great though............... bring on the Valks!!!! I'll take a TV 4-ship first please. put them all in one box and let's get this over with...

I hope not. I'm hoping to snag one, and I passed out at my PC and woke up 10 minutes after the show last time is it only at CDJ this is happening? tbh I'd prefer to order through HLJ just for convenience sake................
-
So is mine, but I'll add 4 or 8 VF-171's [OR VF-17's] to it in a heartbeat!

expect to have to touch-up with your regular airbrush, but it shouldn't be too hard. I know car modelers who use rattlecans, and I envy their results... if they can get that showroom shine out of a rattlecan there IS a way! I just don't know what it is...
